Discussion: Super Booster II: Magic Details!
I have a character named "Mad Halloween Jack" (magic/zombies/dark MM) that this set will be the pinnacle of his wardrobe!!!
This is indeed a fantastic set Sexy J!!!
Major Kudos from Major Deej!
Forgive if this has been clarified already, lots of pages to sift through and I might've missed it:
Will I be able to go to Wal-Mart tomorrow, Tuesday the 14th, and buy the new box?

There are numerous core animations (animations that are shared between all player characters) that would be problematic with attempting to add full length robes to our current player model skeletons. [...] This is not a limitation because of Martial Arts. Its an issue with all player characters.

Yeah, I have a female character that in her original concept had a full length (and very tight fitting) dress, and it's very clear it just wouldn't work just with simple running. Even the midlength skirt we have (which was introduced with the Secretary costume set) still pushes the limits of the way fabric really stretches.
That said, I'd still love to see it. Even if it has to be some variation of capes, and perhaps split on the sides or something.
Looks incredible! will help with some of my mystics looks!

I'm glad to see a positive response to the pack. The high collar cape & hood from the 2nd pic, is also available for the female. Enjoy!

Will female models be getting the skull mask as well?

Thanks for the clarification, Brawler!
By the way, I didn't think it was JUST Martial Arts ... I'm not THAT dumb ... but Positron did make it sound like it was a few very specific sets. We appreciate your bringing the light of truth in this matter. YES

...so it's a power that's never going to get used because nobody's going to want to chance getting a bad debuff for 20 minutes that they can't remove. Awesome!

... You're kidding, right?
Or when you say "never" do you actually mean "not by me and people who think like me, who may not be as vast a majority of the playerbase as I may be inclined to imagine"?
What physical stores can we buy the boxed set in??
I would assume that it is better to just use your credit card through the online store rather than driving to the nearest Walmart to pick it up.
The first step in being sane is to admit that you are insane.
My point was to get the boxed set and have all the updates on dvd to save on reinstalling.
Do we have any idea how much this booster is going to cost?
About the elusive long robe, who would accept this as a compromise?

Ignore the long beige under-robe I am wearing. Instead, look at the sleeveless blue one over top of it. Notice how it's slit right up the sides, so front and back are both free-hanging, almost like the Mu robes, but anchored at the waist, so as not to interfere with arm movement.

What time to the Devs go on? Will it be available immediately at midnight? Is it as cool as the pictures tell me it is?
WHY IS IT NOT MINE YET!
Also, Ex Libris, can I borrow ten bucks?

I met a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today.
I wish, I wish, he'd stay away.

Not to rain on anyones parade or take away from the excellent work Jay and his assistant put into this and all the other packs.
BUT...
Angry_Citizen and others do have a point.
Jay and his assistant are already on the NCSoft payroll, which is income generated from the normal monthly fees that are paid to play the game.
If NCSoft didn't want to put any new outfits into the game for customers or npc's then they would not have Jay on staff.
However, since they do have Jay on staff doing his normal work for which his salary is already being taken care of. And for which his time scheduling is already included. Taking him away from his normal time to produce micro transaction items (Not to mention Babs had to be involved for the emotes), and then charging extra for these items *is* what Angry_Citizen is talking about.
If microtransactions weren't now part of this game (thanks to everyone who keeps buying them { Myself Included }), then Jay and crew would be producing these same items for the game normally.
Would they be part of some set schedule? Surely they would. It isn't as if they are coming fast and furious as part of microtransactions after all.
So, Angry_Citizen does have a valid point in what his beliefs or feelings are regarding these mircotransactions.
NCSoft has found a way to generate more income for the company without extra expense.
Smart business decision on their part, but it does cost its playerbase. While the playerbase seems mostly favorable to these microtransactions and seems to purchase them (they must, or NCSoft would probably not continue to do them), it could be argued that they would come without the microtransaction itself.
Now, for myself , I find the idea of microtransactions a little frustrating (based on the history of *this* game not having microtransactions from the start), but I am in a position to easily afford the extra expense so I buy the ones that appeal to me.
Angry_Citizen and those that agree with him completely should always be allowed to voice their opinions as well as those who gladly buy into the microtransaction action. We really shouldn't harp on anyone who disagrees with the party line. They are the ones who help keep everyone honest

As someone who was once addicted to another MMO that shall remain nameless
*coughcoughEQcoughcough*
and charged me extra for every new release on content and game upgrade,
I can tell you I MUCH prefer the CoH model...
and yes... the add on packs cost extra... but they are "ADD ONS" not
required purchases to be able to continue to play the game...
Complaining about Add ons is about as dumb as b****ing about the 20 disk CD changer or XM Radio that you COULD add on to your new car, but it only comes with a single CD unit...
What time of the day will this be available ?
I love these things, Ill gladly buy these then a 30-40 dollar ex-pack
This helps make issues and i love them
I thought it would be up at midnight central or eastern but i guess not.
I'd pay 100 dollars for an all access pack that gives you the taskforce costume pieces since I never group or have time to. I mean i have them in the MA now but not for myself. They aren't that great looking (roman stuff for instance) but since I'll never group or do a taskforce i'd pay the 100 for those too.
d000000000000000m we want it nao plz lol
YEA!
It is April 14th.... wheres the pack at?

Costume "sets" dumb down the possibilities of this wonderful tool , show a failure to recognize its potential and needlessly limit the creative control of the player.
[/ QUOTE ]
Absolute nonsense. Just because people CHOOSE not to be creative doesn't mean it's the fault of the costume sets. I've seen plenty of people make great use of bits and pieces of costume sets in original costumes.
