Methinks Doms and Corrs like them (because they actually do something sometimes). I haven't met a Brute or Stalker in ages who had one.

[/ QUOTE ]

my Nin/Regen Stalker had the Night Widow pet for a while...and tanked Ms. Liberty quite well for about 1 minute and got a Eagle's Claw 2dafayse

Brute Patron Pet - lolz
Corruptor Patron Pet - sexy
Stalker Patron Pet - ok
Dominator Patron Pet - nifty
Mastermind Patron Pet - waitaminute!

Changes to the PPPs? Does anyone take "fish-boy" Maco's PPP? He's like a savage version of Aquaman; scary, but ultimately useless. Unless we get an underwater zone, I see this entire set going bye bye.

BTW, most of the follow up questions being asked are things I cannot answer until the beta starts. Sorry, guys.

As for the PVP zones, yes, doing PVE content there will be harder.

[/ QUOTE ]

In most cases, this isn't too bad, but I already have a very hard time with some characters killing off those turrets on the bunker (at the end of the Shivan mission) before new ones start spawning. Teams are not always available/willing to help with that either.

I'd appreciate it if at some point you guys could look into a way to make that mission a little more solo friendly for low DPS Defenders and their ilk, hopefully without making it any more of a cakewalk than it is for teams. (For instance, it'd be really cool if there were a glowie for each turret that would disable/destroy it also, so long as it was placed somewhere that you wouldn't get zapped constantly once you destealth to click it).

Dear NCsoft, if you go through with this shutdown you've guaranteed you'll not see another dime from me on any project you put out, ever.

Though the article specifically mentions bosses and NPC's for customization, I’m hoping that we can at least make some “cosmetic” changes to others, such as the lieutenants and lower “bosses” in the mobs met along the way. I’ve a few ideas for mission arcs that would rely on visual clues to lead players on to the next mission in the arc.

For instance, a new bio-engineered plague, where the initial clue is a change in skin color for a standard villain group; “That’s odd! Since when do Warriors have bright orange skin?”

If the customization went beyond just changing colors to the addition of changeable costume parts, I’d love to do a take on the Clockwork deciding to try to “blend in” to the human population by adding fake flesh (like the old Star Trek episode with Data and the Borg queen). If I can’t re-skin some of the clockwork because of those rather radical body types on some, perhaps I can add existing robotic limbs to Shockers (for that electricity feel) so the player still sees a hybrid mechanical and fleshy foe which from their perspective they can’t tell is a human going toward clockwork, or a clockwork evolving toward human.

Unfortunately, these ideas lose impact if only the “end goal” foe can be modified. Letting the mobs fought along the way also inherent some of the changes would add to the immersion of such story lines.

I’d also LOVE to be able to script a ‘costume change’ in the MA, perhaps even link it to a mission event like a defeat and resurrection (a la Freakshow rez). Great for those “surprise possession” storylines: *Hero defeats the signature foe. Foe rises in the (costume change) form of CoT Balrog. “Okay, you destroyed the shell I took so long to craft. I guess I’ll have to take yours instead.” *Hero* “Like heck!”*

We are not old, so long as we continue to chase our dreams.

The basic tack we took was "if the power is not being taken by the players, replace it with something that is."

So when can we expect a change to Temperature Protection?

Don't just make AVs/Heroes reskinnable. Make all enemy NPCs from minions on up reskinnable. If possible, even make the pedestrians walking around customizable.

My main suggestion is to allow us to pick and choose minions, Leuitenants, and bosses from different enemy factions, reskin and rename them, and put them together to form our own player created enemy factions. These player created factions can be listed just like the player created missions to be rated and even used by other players. Player created factions that earn the Devs Choice or Hall of Fame could even find there way into radio/paper missions.

You know that the turrets don't regen in addition to all re-spawning on the same timer, right?

Just go and almost kill all of them, then kill one of the Anti-personnel turrets and wait for it to respawn, then KILL THEM ALL! BWAHAHAHAHA!

*cough* sorry, got carried away.

Or, instead, go to get more Shivans when you only have one left from the last batch. Gather the meteor shards, and drop your last Shivan on the firebase.

Ooo, I hadn't thought of that. So a power like Short Circuit isn't going to drain endurance very well against NPC enemies in Siren's Call. That will hurt a bit. (Though I'll also have a second build to use specifically in those zones, so it won't hurt as much as it might have.)

[/ QUOTE ]

The main time this would effect me is that I love to use the PvP zones for Halloween and Christmas events. Everyone else is busy elsewhere complaining about how crowded the other zones are or deathly afraid another player might kill them. I can hunt these zones all night without interruption normally.

But the mobs there tend to be a bit on the tough side (lots of bosses), so it Short Circut isn't doing it's full drain my Blaster will be in trouble.

No. Small cottages are good. Gazebos are true neutral, it's those multi-story parking lots that are the evil ones.

Scrappers are just like chainsaws. Somewhat hard to handle, EXTREMELY dangerous, and by far the most fun when wielded by the slightly insane.

All joking aside - it was said elsewhere that Power Balancing changes wouldn't affect PvE at all.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think either what you read was incorrect or you misunderstood. I'm quite certain the PVE specific changes that were made for I13 will affect PVE, while 95% of the PVP changes have no effect on PVE (I say 95% to hedge my bets, actually.)

[/ QUOTE ]

Better talk to your boss, then. From MMORPG.com:

[ QUOTE ]
MMORPG.com: You mention the PvE and PvP Power Rebalancing. I’m curious as to whether this means that players will have to get used to different rules for specific powers depending on whether I’m in PvE or PvP?
.
Matt Miller: Our powers team is only rebalancing the most “over-powered” powers and these balance changes only take effect in PvP enabled zones. These changes will not affect the PvE gameplay experience in any way.
