Here's a picture of the Jet Pack you get 30 days of use from with these cards.

Click here to see the Jet Pack.

That's a very patriotic looking Goldbricker pack...

Too bad it expires in 30 days or I'd be all over this puppy.

Is this jet pack for every character you play that month or do you have to choose the ONE character who gets 30 day use of it?

If it was a regular power add on (like the slide from the special ed. DVD) then I'd go after one of these cards. Since it is not I have no reason to drop an extra $5 for a month's worth temp power. Raptor pack/bank mish would do me just fine.

Mui gracias. Um, is the villainous one red, white, and blue too? Should it be?

As I understand it, it's like a veteran reward in that it pushes the power out to any character on your account. The power expires after 30 days. I just nabbed a test code and am going to try it out. If you see some nutball level 1 with the pack going WHEEEEEE!!! flying around Atlas, well, that might just be me

Yeah, the pack looks the same on Villains - so it might be a little off that way, depending on your character concept. I've already passed that feedback along.

Will there ever be a way (sometime down the road) to be able to pick up this temp jetpack ingame? *safeguard, story arc, etc*

That would be pretty cool! (or as a future vet reward?)

OK I have seen the pack and am interested. Here's my problem. I pay in 6 months bundles right I'm 1/2 way through the 1st month of said 6 pack....

Grabbing the code hey thats no prblem adding it to my account and not losing 5 1/2 months of game time already paid for now that's a problem.

Secondly why can't we just upgrade account pay 20 bucks a month and get said jetpack. Oh it appears that cool. Its not only the latest shiny but one can actually create a character around its look.

It appears making it a one time purchase like wedding pack is to late???

I don't want to waste 5 months of paid time to get one month of something that should be readily available.

And Frozen if you are still around I leave in Greenfield IN if you find this let me know where target on East Washington street didn't have any as of this posting.

You never lose game time on your account. If you did pick up one of these cards, you would gain the 30 days to your total accrual of time paid.

We have passed on the feedback that people are interested in getting the jet pack outside of these cards and that is being looked into. But, to set expectations, there is no guarantee that an alternate method to otherwise get the jetpack power will be made available.

Honestly, you would sell more of the cards to existing players if the Jet Pack were not time limited.

Edit: Hmm... is it 30 days from creation of a character or 30 days from the application of the time card regardless of the character's creation date?

QR: So, by and large, no new information outside of everything you told us last week. Cool. Also, thanks for the picture. It looks nice--hopefully you'll see a lot of traffic with it.

I must say that the Exteel card is a good bargin since $10 normally gets you 1k of NCoin. The card giving 1.2k is a nice deal.

I just wish we could purchase the regular time card (code) from the NCSoft store. It would save the problem of running all over the place to try and find them, and I will bet that a LOT of people would buy them that way. Anyone else agree?

Well, if you have a credit card to purchase something on the store, why not just use that to buy game time?

See, the problem is, there is rampant (or well something like that) use of stolen or otherwise fraudulent credit cards with game time. That's unfortunately why we have such stringent credit card usage practices and why we don't make the actual codes available on the website. It's a bummer that it has to be that way, but it is what it is.

Can you also ask about the hero gear kit stuff? Even if it doesn't include time, just a code to get the VIP badge and powerslide.

Frankly, I am happy to see this. Anything that gets the game back out in front of the public, so we get more new folks is a good thing. I haven't looked to see if any other games do this, but having a card to sell appears to be a good way to get some of these stores to carry the game without taking up valuable shelf space -- the stores always want to use that shelf space for the fastest moving merchandise, and it is difficult to suggest that a four-year old game is going to be a hot seller. This way, the stores can keep it available longer, and we will hopefully be seeing a few new teammates.

The jet pack looks good, and I would be willing to spend $5 or $10 to get it in game if it was permanent . . . but not for just 30 days.

Yep, this is a good idea and needs to be expanded to as many gaming stores as possible. As soon as possible.

Plus it's always good to FINALLY get some kind of information about upcoming features. Even if we won't get the full story for another week!

Why purchase a game time card online rather than paying for a subscription?

The answer, Lighthouse, is contained in the words "Cash flow".

If I have money *now* to pay for time, that doesn't mean I will still have that money in the future. Since there's no way to set the payment date in the NCSoft store, I cannot pay *now*. I have to wait for the time to expire and my card to be charged.

And that money might not be there by then.

*THAT* is why having the option to prepay for time when I want to and can afford to would be nice to have in the online store. As it is, I have to go and find a physical card, which is *not* easy to do as most stores around here simply do not carry them at all, or have at most one on hand and don't restock, or I have to trust an online vendor of CD-keys to give me one.

I'd rather have the option to prepay on the spot in the online store. Currently, I don't have that option, it is not available.

I just wonder if this is a back door way of testing the waters to see how a price increase would go over with players? do this now then later "to be fair" raise all our prices?

Probably not. This is not a game *time* card, this is, basically, the full game at 20 dollars, only without the physical CD and with an extra in-game item as incentive.

While I do like the design of the jetpack being included in the game card, I'm not about to rent one for five real bucks a month. I'd -buy- one for five bucks and then gladly expend paid-for time to play through new content that "repairs" the jetpack after 30 days of use... in game.

How about offering that as a deal for those of us that already own the games?

This and other customer relations-oriented idiocy on NCSoft's part was the catalyst for me quitting the game last month after being on since the start.

Let me get this straight - a permanent goody is given in limited numbers to existing customers only who, with only a few exceptions, necessarily needed to already have plans to go to the convention. Net advantage: zero new customers, few, if any, new con attendees, a few hundred happy people. Net disadvantage: several thousand angry customers.

Meanwhile, in an effort to promote a new time card campaign, a 30-day real time temporary power is attached to time cards going on sale at retailers like Target, readily located just about everywhere in the U.S. Rather than make the power a permanent one, thereby assuring themselves of some nice early sales to veteran players and thereby impressing said retailers, the power is made a temp one with a real time expiration, virtually assuring little veteran player participation.

If COH still has more than 100,000 subscribers when Champions Online and DCU Online hit, I'll be shocked. It's a good game with a great community, but they continue to alienate people* like we are completely disposable - which is exactly how they will then be treated when the competition hits.
