[general response]

Gah! So much "I don't like what's in it, so I think its not only a rip off but that no one else should have it!"

Holy dawg. You know what? The developers put stuff I don't give a damn about in CoX, *all the time.* This does not mean I think no one else should have it, nor am I going on a rant about how content I don't like is a "rip off," 'cause ZOMG! Ten bucks is the end-all, be-all of my personal universe! Or OMG! I had to pay a $15 subscription for the month they put in content I don't care about.... stop the presses! RIP OFF!

Let's get real here: you spend ten bucks in five minutes picking up your order at the local take-out Chinese place. Ten bucks ain't nothin'. It's chump-change. It's lunch money.

The best part is, if you don't like the pieces you don't have to give the developers your ten bucks. Win-win here, people. Never seen so much grief over cool new costume pieces since the recipe-debacle. [And this ain't that, so celebrate.]

Or don't buy the pack; whichever suits your fancy. Its a wonder the developers don't fling their hands into the air and shelve whatever cool thing they're working on next, in a fit of pique. I would not blame them if they did, no matter *what* they do its DOOOOOOOOOOOM!

QFT. I couldn't agree more.

It was worth $9.99 to me just for the tux with tails for women. My pirate themed DB/Will Scrapper is so very close to how I want her to look. All I need now is a hat with a huge feather and a parrot for my shoulder.

Once again, you can't compare Justice/Sinister to this. Justice/Sinister and two travel powers were part of a bonus for a new type of game pack - an incentive for people to buy the new Good vs Evil edition. They were free to everyone who bought that version of the game. In order to give everyone else who already HAD the game a shot at them, they were offered at a reduced price for the items only.

Collector's Edition content can't be compared either. The Collector's Editions, especially the wonderful CoV version, had a lot of physical, REAL bonuses in it. Great stuff. The in-game effect was one cape, and one symbol. The CoH DVD edition is another story, but again, it was released as an incentive to buy it (badge, power, cape), and again, those who already had the game were given the chance to get those in-game items at a reduced cost. Still missed out on the physical content, the HeroClix, the map, the comic, etc.

And the pre-order content? You're kidding, right. That was free to anyone who *gasp* pre-ordered the game. You got the pre-order price back, remember?

But now, this wedding content is NOT being offered as an incentive to buy any version. It's not free with any particular package. It's not free like all of the other costumes and emotes have been except those listed that came with special editions of the game to increase sales. They're asking $10 for what is very light content, especially given that we're supposed to be paying for the new content as part of our subscription fees. These outfits and emotes would previously have been free, part of the valentine's day event.

But they want $10 from us now. If this is successful, expect to see more costumes for a fee - thus fewer costumes released as the normal events, and normal updates.

Ok, so are there no Tux pants??
I hope I'm missing them, because pants/slacks just don't match... AT ALL.

Whadda ya mean they don't match? Slacks go quite well!
(And no, you're not missing any tuxedo pants)

It dosn't match to me... unless it's all black. The textures are not like.

For what it's worth, US$10 can be a day's worth of meals for me, assuming I eat at certain places only. The food won't be bad (although usually not very healthy), and sometimes can even be well-renowned, but invariably the actual place is loud, smoky, hot, and I may as well ask for takeout.

As mentioned before, I live in Singapore. Cost-of-living and all that; the more "traditional" hawker centres have cheaper food, the encroaching cafes and restaurants have more expensive food. When I was in the US, I was surprised at how expensive food options were, even for fast food. I suppose that's the price for health-consciousness.

This is why I didn't originally want to pay for a server transfer or rename token.

Yes, you can. Those of us who already had both games still had to shell out the exact same price for them.

I typically spend $6.65 for coffee and a bagle in the morning. Then if I didn't bring a sandwitch anywhere from $3.50 - $10.00 for lunch, and if supper is in the offering again about $6.00 - $15.00 for lunch depending on where I eat. I can of course save on some of this depending on if I bring my own lunch and where I eat but eating out isn't cheap.

Believe me when I say that your strip malls may be lined with fast food places, but the food from there is likely still healthier (less grease/salt) than the cheap-but-delicious food here. Besides, cheaper food means one can buy more of it.

As for the "fattest country" thing, I have no idea.

Thing is with the GvE bonus pack we got two complete and full costume sets with matching textures for just about every part of the body.

In addition to that we also got the Jump Jet, which made traveling incredibly easier(tangible game benefit)

We also got the Pocket D VIP Pass. Which also contained a tangible game benefit (making travel between certain zones much easier.)

Overall the GvE goodies seem more worthwhile than this pack does.

Posted

Perhaps, but it's still a case of them charging for "goody packs". This pack gives us varients on 2 different "tops with skin" sets, dresses, high heels and gloves, and wedding veils, not to mention the tux coats with tails. Plus 4 unique emotes. Sure, no Jump Jet or Pocket D teleport, but it's still in line with the GvE goody pack...

I wouldn't say 4 unique emotes, three are the same thing with different FX.

And again, all male characters get is two kinds of tux with tails. Was there really nothing more they could get, considering the cost? I mean if we want to stick to a similar style I can off the top of my head think of undone bowtie, jacket with colourable flower, shirt and suspenders with and without tie, shirt without tie....throw that in, then it looks more like $10 IMO.

And I get the whole thing that if you don't want it you don't buy it. However, some people may only have male characters and want that jacket, but due to the price and lack of stuff for them it's not worth it. That just seems a shame to me.

In case your meter is broken, that was dripping with sarcasm. Seriously, the slacks match well.

... but sorry, it don't match to me, certainly not enough to have paid for the pack.
Dare I guess that the texture for the tux can be placed on the slacks model and problem solved...

If it were real clothes in the store I'd have not bought it.. I see no difference. <shrug>

See how the slacks DO NOT match the tux if you choose any thing other than black? There NEEDS to be tux pants so they will share the same TEXTURE and MATCH!

that is all

[/ QUOTE ]

Exaggerate much? No, they don't match exactly....but, except on close inspection, the difference isn't very noticeable.
