No thanks. There's already one can of worms being opened with charging for costumes and emotes. If they threw in a badge with it, it would open up a whole new can of worms with accusations of trying to extort money from badge hunters.

IMHO, given that they're going to charge for something, this is exactly the right way to have done it. Maybe throw in some kind of prestige power, but certainly not a badge. I didn't like the RMT for the VIP badges, and I wouldn't like it if they did it again.

As for the event itself, I'm looking forward to it. I'll be there.

I don't mind that they are charging for the pack since it is just (rather niche) fluff that won't offer any gameplay benefits (well, outside of roleplaying weddingaholics, I guess). $9.99 is perhaps a bit much for what you get (I'd think $4.99 or $5.99 would be better) but hey, we are all free to vote with our dollars.

I am curious to see how the Valentine event plays out, especially after Venture's dose of borderline contempt.

It was the Heroes Gear Kit. It included all the extras from the City of Heroes DVD Edition (Statesman Heroclix, VIP Badge, Cape of the Four Winds, PVP mini-comic, and all that), and ran about $20 bucks I believe.

Yup, instead they charged more than NCSoft is charging for this pack, for expansion packs that did things like increase the level cap, and if you didn't buy them, you were left in the dust. Shame on NCSoft for providing an option for some nice cosmetic things that you don't have to buy to remain competitive, and providing our Issues, which are roughly the same in content as, say, an EQ Expansion Pack. [/sarcasm]

I LOVE you guys for making the tuxedo pieces available to all characters, not just guys ;_; As soon as my husband mentioned this pack to me, my first response was to vow to not buy it if the formal suits were men-only.

It really is a terrible shame that there aren't more guy bits, though. I think you should add in a solid version of the veil for them - that could have everyday, non-girly applications. Aside from that, that's some great work, guys. It's kind of pricey, though... $5.99 would have been more reasonable, considering how many of these you stand to sell (seriously, you can't tell me you're not going to make a packet off of this! ). Or maybe a pre-order discount next time?

I just feel it is sad that we are being asked to pay for new costumes and emotes for an event. Especially when a couple of the costumes are just re-textured old ones.

And for a 45 month Veteran Reward, we only get a Respec.

It probably is $2-$4 too high.

That's not terribly relevant to me because I'm not getting the pack for the items... I'm getting the pack to support the game.

The costume parts are very nice, though, and a cut above other items we've seen so far (check out the chest-level flowing of the jacket).

BTW, It's good to see that you're posting again, Venture! Hopefully we'll have a chance to argue about balance soon - you're in fine form, from what I can tell

Wow, That was one of the best $9.99 x"Insert number of accounts I have <here>" I have spent in a long time. The usefulness of the Jumppack alone is immeasurable to my lowbies, not to mention the convenience of Pocket D TP during Events.

Now we come to Wedding Pack?!?

Ok, Let me get this straight. You want me to spend $9.99 per account for what? A few emotes and a couple costume options?

Suffice it to say that I will reluctantly coerce my bank into supplying the funds for my accounts just to keep my accounts with options that arrive. Yes, I actually see validity in the items, it's just beyond me that they would charge. The only thing I can deduce from Lighthouse's statement is that perhaps it took some overtime pay to do it outside the "schedule". I'll justify it in my mind that way and we'll all look the other way as my account's completeness is satiated.

Ditto all of this. $9.99 is, what, 60% of a month's subscription? If it was that much for a pack of two for me and my SO (in the spirit of the holiday, even!), I'd've already bought them both...

I've been playing coh/cov since beta and this is the first time they have offered a fee for emotes ........ how lame.... is the new company that hard up for cash?What do we pay 15 a month for? i have 2 accounts and i've had to buy the game several times, ie reg ver,dvd ver,the speical ver,the wal-mart one and all so i could get the specials on both accounts and now if i want the wedding stuff it will be another 10 per account...... get real ........ why isn't it free like all the other new emotes? i would understand a new one to raise the cap ...... but get real just for a tux or wedding dress and the emotes......... no sale here........
