But part of me is disapointed. I quite liked the look of the current non-seethrough 'hair cape' version. Can you put in a request to keep it as an option alongside the corrected transparent one (with the proper cape colour options and maybe even the cape styles added). I can think of several looks and themes that it would work well with.

No thanks. There's already one can of worms being opened with charging for costumes and emotes. If they threw in a badge with it, it would open up a whole new can of worms with accusations of trying to extort money from badge hunters.
IMHO, given that they're going to charge for something, this is exactly the right way to have done it. Maybe throw in some kind of prestige power, but certainly not a badge. I didn't like the RMT for the VIP badges, and I wouldn't like it if they did it again.
As for the event itself, I'm looking forward to it. I'll be there.

Seriously though, I think you guys should open the VIP badge/pack as an add on for $5 or $10. Far better that everyone should get a fair shot at it than it should occasionally spring up on Ebay for $60.

There is still a full complement of free Issues and content scheduled for this year and beyond for City of Heroes and City of Villains.
This pack is something that we were able to make available outside of our regular release schedule. So, no, you won't have to pay for other new costumes and emotes. We realize that the Wedding Pack won't be for everyone, but hopefully those who are interested in it will find that they like having the option to obtain it.

Well, to be honest, I think it's a bit much to charge 10 dollars for some costume parts and emotes that should have been part of the event like Santa Hats for Christmas events. Last thing I want NCSoft to thing they can nickle and dime us to death like SOE does for microcontent. Personally, I hope very few people buy the Wedding Pack so NCSoft gets the message that this is not a viable income stream for them.

So can we expect to have to pay for any new holiday emotes/costumes that come down the pike? This summer, will I have to shell out an additional $9.99 for a new "sparklers" emote, along with some appropriately patriotic couture? When Halloween comes along, will the special "pumpkin head" full helm only be available to those willing to plonk down some extra cash?
I'm not saying that there's no chance I'll buy it, and I apologize if the tone of these questions sounds hostile, but if this is likely to become a regular trend with special events, to charge fees above and beyond the usual monthly one for extra (arguably minor) perks, I'd like to know in advance.

I don't know that any other new for pay packs will be tied to holidays. This one just worked out that way. To be clear, it's likely that we wouldn't have done this extra event and the corresponding Wedding Pack if we didn't charge for the pack.
Unfortunately, I'm not armed with more details on what we will offering in the future other than the fact that we intend to do more. We appreciate your feedback!

Oh yes, and a great message it would be:
"Dear NCSoft, don't go out of your way for us. Don't spend extra time or money on developing or designing anything for us unless you are willing to accept no compensation for your efforts. Don't expect us to support you. We don't want anything more then what our subscription fees already cover."
Its one thing to charge for everything left and right, like some other companies have, its another to offer a little something extra here and there for a small price.

Well, since I did this with my Exteel purchases, I figured I'd post my experience buying this stuff too.
Clicked on the link provided by the email newsletter, which brought me to the NCSoft store. Clicked "buy now," was taken to my account management for login. Payment was quick and easy, the security bits made me happy and rather comfortable making the purchase (very important). Very quick, very easy. Headed into the game, into Icon, and there they were. My only complain is I wasn't (and am still not) sure exactly where everything is, so maybe in the receipt listing include where the various parts are? Sorry - not much for hunting. That aside I'm very pleased.
By the way, I do hope in i12 there will be at least one or three public wedding chapels. Maybe make an instanced one available for rent (influence, not real money) or as a "reward" for some cute little set of missions.

It was the Heroes Gear Kit. It included all the extras from the City of Heroes DVD Edition (Statesman Heroclix, VIP Badge, Cape of the Four Winds, PVP mini-comic, and all that), and ran about $20 bucks I believe.

This and the fact the Bridal top and Gloves don't have second color control to match w/that Skirt options.
Otherwise, I don't see a problem paying $10 for this unique set.
Who knows, if there is an updated GvE packaged release, it might get included there...

One thing that might be nice is a way to buy this as a gift, since the store apparently doesn't support that directly. I mean, if anything screamed gift that would be in the store, this does.

It better not be. To Be honest, 2nd pay for microexpansion I see NCSoft for CoX and even though I love COX, I'll have to start thinking about canceling and I been here 45 months and never thought I would cancel CoX.

There was no cumberbund for the male's as a belt item.
The Deluxe Tux and Butler Tux look nice with their matching sleeves.
There was no special pants or shoes as well to go with the pack for men. Slightly dissapointing there, but I am taking full advantage of the two new tops.
Note: Back items are NOT allowed with the male tops
