Yeah I missed the 'in real time', I think ym briain is addled today.

EG:
Sorry the win goes on. Did you not get the memo that suckage is no longer part of CoX ?

(aside from MOG) *ducks and runs*

[/ QUOTE ]

MoG continuing to suck is the only thing that grounds me in reality.

[/ QUOTE ]

You might want to avoid the Training Room in the near future, then.

[/ QUOTE ]MoG is getting improved huh? Does this mean Dark Armor can get a real tier 9 then to? *puppy dog eyes*

[/ QUOTE ]

Hey, I like my tier nine! Leave it alone!

[/ QUOTE ]

Yah Rly... SoulTran definitely wins "funniest Teir9 in PvP"... That' enough to make it a Keeper

A little ATI symbol alongside the Cryptic and NCSoft symbols in the login screen?

Now you're just being silly.

Be well, people of CoH.

I assume this' about MoG being worked on? Well it's a good thing it is, because.. y'know.. regen was just soooo underpowered. -_-

Ok, Lighthouse, that all sounds cool and I am looking forward to it all. The xp smoothing sounds cool. I'm really looking forward to City Vault so I can show some friends that don't play CoX what my toons look like and such. Maybe get some new players?

My biggest wish for 2008? Publically acknowlege that you have a base system in the game, admit that it is borked as hell, and start seriously fixing it. I know you all mentioned a bit about this, but let's see some timeline and what kinds of things you are planning to do. Sooner is better than later.

Otherwise, keep up the great work.

Mog changes - Mog no longer prevents healing or regeneration.

Then in small text way down the page somewhere will be...

-Hesh

35 Ill/Storm
35 DM/Regen

Nah, I'll just wait for one of the brilliant guide writer peoples or the hero builder peoples to make something idiot-proof.

Or I'll PM BillZBubba and Arcanaville.

This does not resolve the inbalance of PVP, or should I say; The "Dominance" of the villains over the heroes. What is this fascination the devs have to make the villains stronger then the heroes?. For instance, I keep getting the beat down from Dominators (two usually can de activate my invulnerbility).

The problem I have is that, not all heroes have a choice as to their invulnerbility is willingly on or if they have to concentrate to turn it on. My hero is based on Superman, his invulnerbility is alway on, wither he likes it or not. If a dom immobilizes him, he's still invulnerble to physical and energy attacks, get it?

My suggestion is, either bring this kind of balance to the game or expect less heroes to pvp or just to bail the game all together.

Not only are you more wrong than I thought was possible, this is completely irrelevant to the topic. * for you.

Posted

you're not happy with invuln in pvp because two people working together can defeat your protection? and that goes against your player concept? and you think examples like that show that villains have an advantage over heroes? or did i misunderstand what you're saying?

Posted

Superman is hardly an example of a balanced character. If it weren't for Kryptonite he'd be completely unstoppable and god-like. Besides last time I checked everyone on the PvP boards was complaining that hero teams are much stronger than villain ones due to the ability of being able to stack Clear Mind or like powers making Dominators worthless in PvP. I suspect pleasing everyone in a game like this is nearly impossible.

I'm more interested in how this real numbers stuff will affect all those great character builder programs out there like Mids' . Seems like a shame that all that effort on the part of fans being wasted now that the devs have finally caught up to what the players want in this regard.

[/ QUOTE ]Well first to cover your Superman point. Supes has two weaknesses, magic and Kryptonite. Second, you msut be a solo hero, because frankly, in team PvP environment, a well organised hero team will always have hte upper hand against a well organised villain team, from sheer number of buffs, the strength of those buffs, and the out of the box power of the hero ATs.

At a rough guess Pohsyb.

[/ QUOTE ]
And that means what to me exactly?

[/ QUOTE ]

pohsyb is an NCNC developer. He writes stuff. These days, (sometimes) stuff with numbers in it.

They didn't need to license anything to put numbers into the game. They just needed to find a way to get pizza and beer into pohsyb's box. I haven't specifically seen anything that's been written for this feature yet of course, but I have 100% complete confidence in pohsyb that it'll be cool whatever it ends up looking like if they just let him do his thing.

Very lucky for us that NCNC pulled him back from the grip of that other superhero MMO.

[/ QUOTE ]
And that still means what to me exactly?
I'm quite aware Pohsyb is a Dev.

Mine wasn't a question as to whether our game needed to license anything.
It was whether they were going to or not.
Lighthouse actually bothered to address my speculation directly without being asked.
Your original cryptic reply to me didn't really help me in the least.

My point was based on time and resources it's almost always easier for a group of Devs to incorporate existing applications in some way. We all have wanted things like "Real Numbers" and City Vault for a very long time and from a software development point of view it was a very reasonable theory that it would be easier for our Devs to leverage the work which has already been done in these areas. We already know that our Devs have good relations with those fansites so again a reasonable speculation.

I'm happy Pohsyb is working on it in house if that's the case.
I just hope he's NOT working from scratch which will only take him longer.
