The results are in and the initial ladder rankings are as follows:
1. Justice for all League
2. Old School
3. Freak of Legend
4. Velocity
5. Esk
6. Hell Raisers
7. Statesman's Watch
For the groups who could not make it to the initial ranking matches you must challenge a group who is already ranked to join up. If you win you take the second to last place on the ladder, if you lose you create a new rung at the bottom and that spot becomes yours until you move up. (ie. if Whirligig challenged SW and won they would be the 7th ranked team while SW moves to 8th, if they were to lose they would take 8th... if they challenged Velocity the results would be the same according to if they won or lost)
I will talk with Ex about the possibility of an SG ladder section for the forums.
Any questions on the ranking I would be glad to discuss it with you, just send me a pm on the boards. I will not answer any questions in this thread about scoring.
*EDIT* When I did the ranking i calculated in the defeat FoL had over CE with their villains. I had over looked that that was a villain match and not a hero match. This leads to a three way tie according to victories at the top of the ladder. The new results are based on margin of victory. I apologize for the initial inaccuracies in my calculations. For the time being make challenges here in this thread. On Monday I will get a better means of challenging, but atm Im going to be out of town this weekend. Have a great weekend and good job to everyone who has joined the ladder so far.

I'd like to issue a challenge to ESK....This challenge is not mandatory, so totally up to you guys whether you'd like to accept it or not.

Yah Ed I thought that was funny..the matches I watched with OS an FOL it was entirly different line ups...excpet for JAL...same 8 everytime. Did not matter if they fought OS Velocity, Freaks or SW...it's like they knew even if they lost to freaks as long as they pounded the new groups they would come in first..while the other sg's gave everyone a chance to be in an official match...oh wait...isn't half their SG on the pvpec comittee??LOL..
pretty sad you wanna be #1 so bad in something that is supposed to be fun..that you cut out most of your group from participating...

First of all,
Freaks were the last SG we fought, so there goes that theory out the window. Second, take into account that our matches kill count with OS was reduced to single digits due to the strategy chosen, where as when FoL fought OS it was run and gun Vs run and gun. Not everything is going to be perfectly fair, you just have to shrug your shoulders and move on. Also, I believe Psypunk is challenging some of the newer SG's as a chance to use some of the new JaL members.. but thx for your concern. ^^

really?? I could have sworn I watched you match after freaks - where you used the same 8 people to beat an SG no one ever heard of by like 80 to zero?..it's nice that psypunk is challenging the lowest rated sg after the ladder ranking so your other 30 members can get in a match if I understand the messed up rules you can only drop rank if the # 2 defeats you so fighting any other sg except #2 does not threaten your spot....and I fail to understand your logic...what does it matter the make up of the team brought to fight you??..does it matter who brough what? You saw the team before the match started....oh wait a second...you only played your 8 so you could not counter. And does it matter when you fought the one SG left to fight you expected to be difficult? Like I said half your sg in the pvpec or something - the fact you used the same 8 people for every match says to me you knew how to stack the deck to win LOL...Hey not faulting your strategy..I guess I just have more "respect" for the SGs that played like groups - not a group of 8 only...and trust me Mr. psypunk could give two craps about my respect I just calls em like I sees em.

Updated SW Roster.
Not to get involved, but I don't see anything wrong with JAL trying to put its best foot forward. OS for instance when fighting some of the newer groups (no offense meant) put in some newer people in, but we still ran many of our older members, if not on their main roles on secondary roles and things at least half of every team was older members.
As far as encouraging newer groups to keep at it I'm not gonna say getting [censored]-pounded is fun. But it happens. When I first joined OS we ran spines/regen's on our 8-man team from time-to-time, lol. We got [censored] an insane amount by, FoL, HVND, LD, and the other groups that had been there before us, and I'm sure Velocity who started up on test at the same time things started to take off for us can say the same.
It's part of the learning experience, you need to see what other groups are doing that you aren't, that is the secret to being able to compete at this higher level, practicing, and keeping at it. You figure out where your strengths, weaknesses, and average skills all lie and you work and making the best of your strengths, and improving upon things that aren't a strength yet.
And my advice to all the new SGs is that. Don't take things too bad, because every SG out there has been destroyed before pleanty starting up or at some point. My advice is after a night you get beaten by another group, just form up a discussion on your SG website or wherever you want to and figure out what's going on, is it:
Spikes not happening fast enough
Spikes not coordinated
Buffs weak
Healing not on time
Lack of survivability skills on the group's part as a whole
Disorganization
Whatever you think really made an impact on your ability to do your job and figure out how to help fix it, do spike practices, small-size internals to help with more basic skills, really be proactive about it.
Could we had run up the scores vs those groups? yes, but I am standing by with our decision not to use the starting team vs any of the new groups (SW and ESK), even if it meant us ending in 3rd place due to the tie breaker score differential rule.
I am not going to pass judgement on what other groups do, so as far as I'm concerned, this is a non issue.
Besides, it'll be more fun to work our way up the ranks.
Number one....no one was running up the score against the new groups. In fact, we weren't spiking targets and we brought a cager and weren't even caging people.
Number two...we brought the line-up we did against Statesman's Watch because we were fighting FOL next and we wanted to get that team warmed-up. As unbelievable as it sounds, no one in the JAL can read the future, lol. You're acting as if we KNEW ahead of time we were going to lose to FOL and set up our whole strategy accordingly, lol. You are a silly man groebuck.
After the FOL match, we ran the same line-up because quite honestly we need the practice running with a cager. We had practiced ONE NIGHT with a cage team before our FOL match and that pretty much being Sunday night - the first night of the tourney...we observed some things we could've done differently in the FOL match, so we used the match against Hell Raisers to test some things out. Again, no one was running up any scores, we didn't even know at the time how this whole 3-way tie thing would be sorted out.
We went with the team we did because we wanted to get our cage team practice time...not because we were running up scores, lol. We didn't even realize scores were a factor. Not to mention, our match with OS was 8-5...so, yeah, we're really running up the scoreboard.
Thirdly, we couldn't have even went with a dramatically different line-up if we wanted to since hardly anyone but the cage team showed up anyway. At most, we could've ran a storm team against the new groups, but I'm just imagining how you would've reacted to that, lol...considering we ran a cage team and didn't even cage anyone.
By the way, we have one person in the PvPEC and that would be Alarys. As usual, your "observations" are completely subjective, biased, and 100% wrong.
