Good job, guys. These were all three comics I did have a chance to read and they deserve the accolades. Well done.
Now, I think it would be nice to hear some of the favorites out of the red names. I don't think mine would be among them but it would be nice for the people who were in the running. Any chance of hearing a little on the close but no cigar entries?

Good reads guys Congratulations!
We will see what we can do about showing some love to our top honorable mentions as well as show off the wide display of submissions.
But we want to wait on that so that these submissions can get some of the flash and thunder they deserve.

Mega congratulations to the winners! You all did fantastic work.
I'm very proud to have competed in this contest, and if the devs don't do this again someday they're crazy.

Wow.
Thanks for the congrats everyone, and thanks to the judges for the recognition.
There were some really incredible stories out there. Some awesome competition, and so many of the submissions have inspired so many more ideas than I care to imagine.
I encourage everyone to take the hypercomics link above and view some of the entries. Anyone that has the courage to put his or her work up for everyone else to see deserves some praise and recognition.
Give them a few minutes over the next week and let them know the effort was appreciated.
Well done and well deserved all! Great job!

Thanks all! And congrats, Chase and 8Baller! I'll work harder on my covers next time (got worried that too much photo editing would have been frowned upon...now I know! )
All I gotta say is this gave me the 'guts' I need to put my planned machinima based on CoX into action. Once the closed beta is over, expect to see a teaser trailer and an initial episode (hopefully) depending on how well demos are being played in i10.
Thanks to the judges, thanks to all for the constructive criticism, and thanks to everyone that entered. Whether you won or not, many of you had some amazing entries. Keep up the great work!
(PS. I'm LJ, winner of the 'Best Action' category)
Congratulations!
Congrats to the winners!
Hehe I knew 8Baller would win, when I saw his comic, I had guessed he would in the Overall category.
Congratulations to the winners as well.
So when does the next issue of STRENGTH come out? I love that black and white rendition.

I suddenly got a bit more rushed. I have 4 tales now in some stage of production.
1) A dark astoria based tale that was to be more humor and tribute to zombie flicks. Story's about done, but I've had to experiment with how to capture some of the fog effects effectively in my character profile. I may need to recruit more liberty-ites as extras once I get that working, unless I plan quite a bit of photoshopping
2,3,4) If that "new rikti look" affects ALL rikti everywhere, then I have a rather limited window for my 3 stories that share the same backdrop (the original rikti invasion of PCU). I've got to move all three to the front burner to make sure I get the shots I need before I10 goes live.
Congrats to all the winners! Great work guys!
grats to all the winners!
Just wondering about the "honorable mentions" The e-mail I got said the top 14 would be shown as honorable mentions win or lose... Yeah, I got the e-mail a few days ago and have been on pins and needles since then waiting for the announcement Tough competition, but making the short list was a thrill none the less.

My bet: they asked for the .cbcx file in the mail... then realized after the fact that the .cbcx file doesn't have all the necessary files to reproduce the comic like they wanted (and a .zip of the needed files is too large for email.) They're probably just working the kinks out of how to get the rest viewed.
Holy carp!!! Marv Wolfman was a judge?!? Man, I gotta read the fine print next time.
Great job to the winners and everyone who entered, the more comics the gooder!

Thanks everyone! And gratz to all those you took the time to create and post a comic. There were some incredible entries out there. I loved the "Not a Hero" concept, and the awesome style of "Strength", and the perfect writing of "The Stuff of Dreams"...so many good entries that I'm sure (hope) they'll post very soon. Or, just hop over to the Hypercomics.com site and browse for yourself.
It was a blast to make, my daughter and son definately gave their two cents. Maybe sometime I'll have the extra time to tell the rest of 8Baller's story.
Thanks to NCsoft for the contest, I don't think I've ever seen a more appropriate contest for a MMO. And special thanks to the judges that took the time to read through the entries. Any one of the judges would have been intimidating at the thought of presenting a comic to them...but all three...my knees are still shaking.
Thanks again. It was fun. Now get out there and soak up the x2xp weekend
Thanks,
Todd

Congratulations to the three winners! Special thanks to Chase and LJ for commenting on my entry (and so many others)- I think the comments, both from fellow entrants and from the judges on the final winners, have been one of the most interesting parts of this contest.
And, of course, I'm looking forward to the honorable mentions! There are so many entries that I still haven't made it through all of them, and I'd appreciate the judges' recommendations on where to begin.
Excellent, excellent contest. More like this, please!

Congratulations!!! I didn't know we could use Photoshop to create our own layouts, or I definitely would've entered myself.
Congratulations folks! Well done.

I don't know that Photoshop was used to create any of the layouts. As for me, I just created custom .xml templates that the comic book creator software read in like the 100+ or so supplied. Instructions were roughly layed out somewhere on the CBC forums or site, I forget where I read it.
The custom narrative boxes were simply 'clip art' as the CBC software refers to it, with line by line of headline text manually typeset on top...(yeah that part wasn't the most fun).
And the 'layered/enlarged' graphics (like 8Brawler with the gun) were again, simply 'clip art' elements. All-in-all, other than color tweeking and running the 'poster edged' filter for the drawn effect, Photoshop was used pretty minimally.
I guess I could put a tutorial together if anyone was interested.
