We will see what we can do about showing some love to our top honorable mentions as well as show off the wide display of submissions.

But we want to wait on that so that these submissions can get some of the flash and thunder they deserve.

Fair enough. I just want a quick way to get to the cream of the crop. I also hope we see another contest like this in the future. Not only was it fun putting my own together it was quite nice to see what the other folks were putting out there. Very good job everyone.

Congrats all

If I would have worked on mine when I should have instead of rushing it I might have had a better chance

Grats to the winners for their stylish modifications to the images that brought out the comics.

Congrats guys, nice work!

I agree with the Best Overall and the Best Story but I really don't agree with the Best Action. The other two had double the action of the one that even won. There was too much blah blah blah and like one page of fighting. I really think they made the wrong choice. I saw like ten others with twice the action and storyline. But thats just how I saw it.

8Baller - this was an interesting and fun read.. it lwft me wanting to see what happens next! sounds like a story-arc worth several issues of content.

Not a Hero - i saw the one judges comment about the repitiion of "Not a.." and it's true.. even though it did come together in the end.. maybe a few less "Not a.." comments would have made the difference in that. BUT.. i actually laughed out loud while reading Page 6.. "Klaatu Barata.. NikKLUH". great reference!

Strength - great visual style, although the ending felt a little sudden.. like it should have had on more page or so. still.. a good read!

so, congrats to you three on some well deserved accolades (do you get a badge for this? hehe..). it seems that you guys' comics are inspirational to a few others out there.. and rightfully so! it even tampts me to attempt one if there's another contast.. or even just for fun maybe.

i saw a few others that had their own reasons for being an enjoyable comic and will look forward to seeing who gets the honorable mentions.

and ill agree with the others who have mentioned what a great concept this was and how fitting of a contest for CoX it was/is. i would hope to see this become a regular occurrence.. perhaps 2 times a year? it's a great way to tie together the community with the game!

You don't know how much I agree with you. I abandoned this story several times because I didn't think I could capture it adequately in 8 pages. There's a reason why it was an 11th-hour submission

Having seen the winners' submissions I'm so glad that I didn't enter this contest because you guys are just too good. Congrats to you all. I can't wait to get a look at the honorable mentions.

Can't agree with that. First off, I counted three pages of action and I think the character development of Leveina and how the whole comic book was structured was well done. Was it perfect? Of course not, and I think that the voice over monologue part would really have benefited from some more editing. However, I can definitely see why it won even though I haven't yet read all the other entries, many of which I'm sure were also very good especially considering the time limit put on this contest.

Yeah, my non-winning submission (/e sniff) had to be rushed in places to fit within 8 pages. I certainly would have liked to flesh out things like the WWII flashback, some of M1's background, and my character's grandfather's values. If they do another contest, I would suggest maybe having a full-sized entry category for people who want to do something like a "real" comic as well as the other entry categories. Anyone else feel like that?

Jeez, I'm also still pimping my comic. I'm pathetic.

Well. If you were looking at alot of the comics they had on Hypercomics you would most likely agree with me.
I admit my comic was decent BUT there were way better ones on there. WAY better ones. No offence to Not a Hero but I really think they rushed the choice or didn't even look at all of em.

A few really good submissions may never have been reviewed due to errors in submitting. I know I did not receive a comfirmation from CoX after I submitted.

Either way - the winners did a hell of a job!

I have to say I was really hoping for "Quiver" to come out as a finalist. Every comic I read was awesome and all I know is there are a lot of talented individuals out there.

We will be working out the details to get some more coverage and press for these other submissions, some on the web page and some in the scoop.

Lighthouse and I would love to keep all the comic goodness flowing so if you have any ideas for how this could work and how we can organize shoot me a PM or email.

Congratz. I read all three and they where all very well done. I hope I have time to do one myself someday.

Ya know I didn't find that *-Ball comic as confusing as the judges did . . .maybe I've been doing to many Praetorian mishes lately .. . .

I was very impressed by Quiver too. Great job.

The winners did great, covered all the bases well. I rushed the story development in mine and seen the flaws, especially after reading some of the better stories put out there. I was really caught up in getting the screen shots and making them fit into the offered layouts. In the end I had fun, as did my family and friends online, making it. Which is part of the draw. I was even tempted to purchase the Hypercomics product until I uploaded and 75% of my text got jacked up. Eight revisions later and I had even less of a story and submitted it 'cause I was done...had a fork in me. But this was a great contest irregardless of a software snag. Hope to see another sometime this year. Maybe if I do buy the product Hypercomics will be inspired again. Huh marketing brainwashes me again...

Congrats to the winners and to the runner's up, I vote for you to be in the Scope, so the rest of us know as well and can enjoy your work.

Well, I'll be honest. I'm a littles miffed that I didn't win. However, I just finished reading the three comics that did win. I don't feel so bad knowing that's what I lost to. They really are extremly well done, well laid out and creative. I would like to give a big shout out to 8Baller, LJ Halfbreed, and Chase Arcanum. You all deserve it.

(BTW: When's the next competition?)

Quiver was excellent.

First things first: Congratulations to all the winners. There was some very good material to be chosen from, and all three entries that won were excellent.

(You know now that the gratz are accomplished, there's gonna be a 'but', right?)

. . . But. . . nothing for The Stuff of Dreams? In my opinion that was superlative work. Funny, but in a way that made sense when you got to the second last page and suddenly, light dawns. It injected actual life into Paragon City (and Paragon City needs life). All those people walking around like automatons in the game have been given faces, names and relationships. . . which in turn gives heroes more incentive to BE heroes. After reading "The Stuff of Dreams" I had an immediate and visceral reaction, once the laughs died down; I wanted to log into my hero and go patrol Paragon City in case these kids needed rescuing from the Tsoo, or the Hellions.

Dag nabbit. I demand Stuff of Dreams be recognized!

I was also hoping for an award for Tales of Paragon. That exuded heroism with a capital H, and was a classy, well-told origin story with heart (also capital H).

Hmph. I remember posting that if The Stuff of Dreams didn't win, I'd be canceling my account. Well, I've already canceled it prior to the contest (financial and time reasons) so at least now I don't have to go back on my word. . .

Wow, I truly don't know what to say. I'm really glad you enjoyed my comic and that makes the work I put into it worthwhile. I'm also glad my not winning wasn't the cause of you leaving the game and I hope you can come back eventually.

With that being said if my comic made a few people smile and laugh then that's all the recognition that I need.

Once again congratulations to the winners, truly some phenomenal work.

Great job and congrats to all the winners. I really enjoyed reading these.

8Baller - I agree with what someone before me mentioned, I really wanna know what happens next!

LJ - Great theme, great [censored]-kickage.

Chase - My favorite read overall. Loved it.
