Welcome back Manticore! -
I was on the BART when it happened, and apparently they shut down for a good five minutes and ran at reduced speeds to make sure the track was all right, but I didn't feel a thing or even notice until the BART train operator came over the intercom. I was too busy reading

And I thought Issue 10 was awesome sounding before I played it...
I'm uber-excited to the point of geeking out! -
I wanted to put in the suggestion for somewhere in the East Bay, since the parking issue is somewhat alleviated and puts an average distance between San Francisco and San Jose, so that no one driving from either city would have to drive as far. That's all I've got, though, since I'm at a loss as to specifically where in the East Bay would be good.
Of course, I say this partially because I'd like to be able to take BART to wherever this is. -

Don't worry guys, I did the voice over for the next I10 video, so you can all poor your vo-hate onto me once that comes out.

Ha ha, rad. I look forward to seeing it.
Er, hearing it. Yes. -

Nice vid, except I didn't care for the voice actor doing the talking. Not sure really what to say, but it felt 'wrong'. Or, rather, not quite right. Still, it was a good video.
=^_^=

Yeah, it made me laugh a little bit. -
Congratulations folks! Well done.

No wonder everyone was so deadthly silent yesterday. Issue 10 information is released, the test server closes off for beta, Jay's article goes to WarCry, and War Witch's follows it up.
With all of this, I almost wish that all the developers and community representatives would keep quiet. We'd have something great every day.
I kid: don't leave us. We like you guys -

I received a "Submission to City of Heroes Received!" e-mail for my submission...may not look good for the home team, Dr. M. I guess there's still hope, and another few weeks to be hopeful in.

Likewise. I'm hoping, for your sake, that it just got lost in your junk mail folder or something like that.
Personally, I was expecting to have it come late, since the demands for any contest that actually requires judging something of any length usually requires a whole heck of a lot of dedicated time. I was really hoping the results would be posted today, but oh well.
Here's the link to my comic in the meantime: Wonderful/Knuckle. -

If the 5th Column rises again, then it has to be restructured...
...so wouldn't that make them the 6th Column? -
I had to run out at intermission of a play I'm in to get internet access just long enough to submit my comic. It took a lot of hard work and some long hours to capture the best shots, but I finished it. Wonderful/Knuckle, Issue #1: With Friends Like These. It tells a very abridged version of the origins of both heroes and sets up the exposition for the With Friends Like These storyline.
I've noticed a lot of people have posted their comics, and I'm sure that some might see this as a bit trite, but I'm proud of the work I did and wanted to give people a chance to see it.
So, without any further ado, enjoy Wonderful/Knuckle, Issue #1: With Friends Like These.
Comments are much appreciated -
I really like the potential this suggestion has. At the very least, it's worth a perusal by the developers. You at least know that Lighthouse saw it, so if he liked it, he can always relay what he thought.
Nice work! -

I'm extremely disappointed that an image of Statesman would be used in such a way. I know that we designed City of Heroes to appeal to "children of all ages." My proudest accomplishment with the game is that many parents (including my brother) play with their children...sharing, I hope, the same joy for the comic book world that I've had ever since I was 8. I cannot express the shock that I felt seeing that a character created by Cryptic would be used in the same sentence as Columbine.

To be frank, when I saw the shot of Stateman in the trailer, I thought it heavily undermined the credibility of the film because of the very reason you give. How a game that espouses Superman-esque morals is in any way comparable to the [censored] and murder of everyone's favorite example of violent video games is beyond me.
And don't get me started on the logic or lack thereof behind the flight simulator-9/11 conspiracy theory... -

I guess it's just me, but it seemed to me that the forum locking hadn't gotten more frequent, but rather than Lighthouse happened to just post when he did it. I remember just a while back when I posted very infrequently and read a lot and I often saw threads being locked with no explanation as to why: people just knew.
To make this short, I'm really not seeing a problem with what Lighthouse is doing. He's just letting us know that he's doing it, so we're considerably more aware of his presence.
At least, that's how it appears to me. -
As long as you keep giving me solid storyline with strong gameplay and plenty of replay value, you've got me.
I think you guys are doing a great job -
Ha ha, thanks guys.
Actually the Clockwork King one is pretty dark to try to compensate for the differences between the background, the character, the chains and the Clockwork King, because they all came from different places. That was before I knew how to equalize things out. -
I started making comic covers way back when, but I never showed them to people I don't know, but, since I've been on the forums a lot in the past few weeks, I figured I'd post these. FYI, they're posted in order from earliest to latest, so if you think the first ones are terrible (and they are), you might want to continue to see what I tried later.
So here's what I've got:
<ul type="square">[*]MrWonderful, Issue 1, complete with more than one issue :P[*]Awesome Man Promotional Issue with more than one reference to a Steven Lynch song.[*]The International Justice League of Toasted Badgers, Return of Crab-Man storyarc cover... don't ask.[*]Task Force: Los Alamos 08/05 Issue: Triple Threat Part 3[*]Task Force: Los Alamos 09/05 Issue: The Clockwork King Retaliates[*]Task Force: Los Alamos 10/05 Issue: Showdown (Featuring Bohanatsu and Pink-Cowboy)[*]Task Force: Los Alamos 11/05 Issue: To the Victor Goes the Spoils (Featuring Bohanatsu and Pink-Cowboy)[*]Task Force: Los Alamos 12/05 Issue: The Ultimate Combination of Heroes (Featuring Bohanatsu and Pink-Cowboy; Continued in Ultimate Team #1)[*]Wonderful/Knuckle Issue 1 and an alternate cover, the first comic that should actually have more than just a cover. In our supergroup, the Ultimate Team, MrWonderful and Sgt. Knuckle are sort of the Superman and Batman of the group, respectively, so it seemed only appropriate.[/list]
Anyway, I don't think they're amazingly fantastic, but they're at least fun to look at and I was just hoping for a tad bit of feedback other than "turn your graphics settings up" please -
I haven't actually gotten a chance to read issue #15, but if I'm to understand it wraps up the storyarc, I'm happy enough. I really felt like this was a way to help the Korean release feel more special. If those in Korea actually get the comic, good gravy, but the whole thing just felt like a big advertisement that was trying to shove as many of the new characters that I don't particularly care for into my lap. I'm under the impression that Manticore gets a least a large chunk of say for the story, and since I like what I think is his, I have to say that I expect better.
But in regards to the art, I actually had forgotten what it looked like since I read it over a month ago, but it looks very rushed, almost as if the distributer called up the artists and said, "They say no news is good news, so since I haven't heard anything about the last issues, I'm going to just assume they're all ready to go. Make sure to get it out to copy tomorrow morning," and, of course, the artists had all but forgotten about it until they got that message at 9:00 that night. That being said, it's a million times better than any drawings I do, but, then again, I don't get paid for it. -
Is is bad that I completely comprehend the mathematical backing but can only vaguely grasp the exact way that this corresponds to in regards to experience?
I always hated word problems. Curse you well Calculus...curse you!
Good guide, by the way, and thank you for pointing out that, excluding external factors, that XP gain v. XP loss when using confusion is minimal. -
Thanks. Now I don't have to worry about missing something while running around in a solo mission with the sound off.

As long as the boxed expansion makes me feel left out for not having it, I'm going to get it. Peer pressure or something like that.
