  1. Thanks to everyone for their support of NW! It's always great to hear that there are people out there reading it. The new COH Comic Creators Compendium (whew! mouthful) has a new NW story in it as well.

I like the idea of doing an MA arc related to the Watch, and have even toyed with a few ideas. Maybe I can make this happen in a future episode. Thanks for the suggestion Largo!
  2. Hello all,

Well it has been some time, but I wanted to announce that Neighborhood Watch has been updated with a new episode and a new website. Watch follows the adventures of Doc Midnight, an aging veteran hero, and his apprentice Ray Danner. In this episode, "Red Shoes and Fiery Wraith," Ray meets a female vigilante with a decidedly different take on justice, and a chilling history....

Come check it out at www.theneighborhoodwatch.net

As always, I'd love to hear any feedback or comments anyone has.

    Take care,

    Doc

And...if you haven't had a chance to check out the website for the City of Comic Creators, I invite you to visit www.cohcomicindex.com.
  3. Hello, hello out there,

drrmidnight here, yet another member of the CCC. Looks like I'm late to the introduction game, but ah well. I am the creator of Neighborhood Watch, which has been running since February 2006. Just about as soon as I discovered the cbc software, I started making my comics. Neighborhood Watch has been rolling around in my head for many years, but the combination of COX and the CBC software has finally enabled me to make it a reality. My story follows the adventure of a young man as he is recruited by a masked vigilante and trained in crime-fighting.

Just today I released a new issue at my official site:

    www.theneighborhoodwatch.net

Everyone in the CCC brings something rich to the table. If anything, I guess my passion is just for telling stories and for pushing the limits of what I can do with COX as the medium for making comics. My stories aren't based on my SG, or game-play, but are just original stories that I try to realize within the confines of the game and available tools. I recently made the move to a new program for creating comics called "Comic Life." Since then, I've really been able to push my stories in a new direction. Anyway, always happy for new readers to the Watch, and always willing to help or give advice on making comics using COX.

    Take care,

    Doc

  18. Hey Gang,
Well, I think it's been awhile since I posted in this group- but in case you haven't heard- Neighborhood Watch Issue #8 is now available at www.theneighborhoodwatch.net.

In this episode, veteran crusader Doc Midnight is beginning to show his age as he and his apprentice Ray Danner throw down with the Freakshow in Terra Volta. Have our heroes bitten off more than they can chew this time? This issue really has it all- brain smacking action, crime-fighting theory, a peek into Midnight's past, and a surprising revelation. Check it out now, and be sure to let me know your thoughts on my latest issue.

On a technical note, I've had some issues with my FTP lately, but hopefully all the pages are working okay now. Let me know if you run into any bugs.

    Enjoy!
  19. Well, the contest is long over, but I'm still plugging away at my own CoX webcomic- the NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH. Issue #8 was released today at the site - www.theneighborhoodwatch.net.

I hope now that the contest is over some of you guys are still doing your own comics. I've been putting out NW for more than a year now, and it's always a fun diversion for me. Of course, sometimes I find myself using the game more for making my comics than for just playing. Anyway, I just want to encourage anybody else working on books to keep it up and hype your books here so other players can enjoy them. Peace!
  20. Well, gang- this thread has sure cooled down in the month+ since the contest ended. I wonder if the mods are still going to give us their picks.

I don't know if this was suggested before, but it would be really cool if we had a part of the forum just for player created comics. Then everyone could hype their work and comment on others. That being said, I may as well hype the fact that my book- Neighborhood Watch #8 is out today over at www.theneighborhoodwatch.net.

I hope some folks are still out there tooling away on their own creations and comics. It would be cool to see the COH Community continue that spark that this contest brought out.
  21. Thanks Chase- got my own site actually, just dedicated to my comic. Congrats by the way. I really liked your book.
  22. Congrats to all the winners! Great work guys!
  23. Glad you enjoyed it J-Man! Guess we'll see what happens when the winners are revealed...tomorrow?! Maybe?!

For now, I'd like to drop a link for the latest episode of Neighborhood Watch, and hopefully get some excitement stirred up for the impending announcement! Good luck all!

  24. I also submitted my entry by PDF. I'm starting to get the feeling the people that submitted PDFs didn't get a receipt email. At least, that's what I'm hoping. I'd describe my feeling as HORRIFIED when I saw that some of you got receipt mails. I guess if I don't win I could always blame it on email problems.
