Thanks for posting this for us, Ex.

That is a mighty keen observation.

The reason you didn't know about the CCC before now is that we didn't really exist.

Sure there were screenshot comic book makers out there, but we were few and far between and didn't even know the others existed.

But after seeing the communities for fiction, drawing, and video we as a collective group decided to fill the void that was lacking in screenshot comic books.

Our goal is slightly different then areas like "Roleplaying" and "Multimedia" in that:
1) We don't have a real "forum" section to post our work in. We could do fan art, we could do multi-media but its not quite either of those and both at the same time.

2) We don't have an easy way to organize, display, or present our comics on the internet. Art has devientart, video has youtube, fiction ... well you can just post that, but comics are a strange medium with no home.

Our goal is to put together our own City of Comic Creator's website that will be a compendium of all the screenshot fan made comics out there. We wont be doing any hosting, because we ourselves are constantly in flux trying to find the best avenue to display our work. What we will be doing is our best to keep the site updated with links to the various authers and announcements about all the new works we can find. Right now its not much more then a work in progress (in fact I think I am going to get in trouble for showing it) but considering it will all be fan made we can definetly use your patience, support and help in filling it out with content.

If you want in all we ask is that you put the time into making a comic, then be willing to talk about it with others to help them gain the courage to make their own

Hi, I'm the Legendary J-Man.
Any of you from Freedom already know me, and know me well. Know me to the point that I will have to admit that I am your favorite person. I feel its safe to say that you love me even more then love yourself.

If you don't know me, well, now you do

I am a part of the City of Comic Creators.
I've been making fan made comics since I discovered the comic book creator program way back in '04.

I have done 90+ screenshot comics.
My format is that I like to keep them only 8 pages long and I try to put one out once a week on monday.

I'm only human and most of the time don't, but hey a man has gotta have a goal right

I try and keep my comics slanted more on the humor side mixing in-game knowledge with my own fiction.

I don't have my own website I instead use my SG's guild portal (which is currently unavailable as I post this hmm) to post my links and the website 4shared to host my comics. Its not perfect, but its what I have for now.

/em sits back down into the circle of chairs

Wondered when I was gonna hear more about this. Torroes clued me into this group when I was talking to him at a local M&G. I'll have to take some time and take a closer look at the site.

Neat idea, getting the comic creators of CoH together.

My main comic, Indefensible Positions, has ended. But I have one of the characters from that comic in a crossover with several other stars of the webcomic world. Together we're doing Crossoverlord, and poking a lot of fun at crossovers in general (and each other).

I might have a new comic of my own coming out eventually. I promised that I would do it, but I'm having trouble finding a host that I like.

Continuing with the Round table introductions:

I am Torroes Prime. I have a drive to expand the game lore in new directions with new stories. To that end, I focus most of my attention on my series City of Heroes: Invasion.

Ironically, I had started writing this series before issue 10 had been announced. Needless to say when I10 dropped, I had to make a LOT of changes to my story to bring it in line with the In-game stories. Invasions tells the story of a third Rikti invasion, but unlike the first invasion where the Rikti were repulsed almost entirely, and unlike the second invasion where the threat was contained and remained mainly at a stalemate between the Vanguard and the Rikti, this time the Rikti have been brutally more effective. This time they have basically won. There's a great deal that lead to this state of affairs in the story, and I've done my best to lay it out here. I have done this because I want to encourage other enthusiasts to come on board and write their own stories and tell the tale of what they're characters would being during this Third invasion. Be it in fan-fiction, Art, The Mission Architect, or even your own comics. The members of the CCC are here to help with Fan-comics and I will help with anything relating to City of Heroes: Invasion.

The lines between Hero and Villian have become more blurred then ever before. Lines once drawn in blood have been lost in the sand. This is a time of life and death, of struggle and of death. The Invasion is over, the war has begun. City of Heroes: Invasion

I may have stumbled into this thread blindly. My comics aren't CoH comics. (Although many of my heroes were originally built in CoH.) Sorry about that, I misunderstood the announcement post. I thought we were assembling comic creators who happen to play CoH, not people who create CoH-derived comics.

Anyway, what I'm looking for in a host is:

Reasonable cost. (Say < $30/month)
Reasonable traffic limits. (I'm hoping and shooting for 15k uniques/day.)
Some kind of daily update software. (Or a shell account and the ability to install such software.)
The ability to run my own advertisements.
The ability to attach to my own domain name. (I already own genocideman.com.)

...and I need for all of this to not take up too much of my free time.

I just listed my needs for you because I really am looking *everywhere*, but I don't think there's a good match here. Thanks for offering, though!

woah... that's a bit more then I thought you were talking about. I would point you toward Godaddy.com. I'm fairly certain they've got you covered on your little shopping list there.

I actually prefer fastdomain.com. Its alot more affordable than godaddy and pretty much anywhere will have better costumer service than godaddy though. Fastdomain also has top notch customer service too.

I have a drive to expand the game lore in new directions with new stories. To that end, I focus most of my attention on my series City of Heroes: Invasion.

I'd still consider both J-man and Masq founding members too as they still joined before we had any main projects or goals setup or barely talked about.

I just want to take this post to also point out a few peoples great work.

Sparky is the one who did that great video which is up on the cohcomicindex.com page.
KineticKitten aka Techspider and Torroes did the majority of work on that webpage aswell.
Sparky and j-man did a great job for there story that went into the first compilation and I am unsure as to who specificly made the cover, I believe it was Sparky who did the majority of it. (if i got that wrong let me know).

We are also working hard to bring about a cool resource/tool for the community to possibly be using in the future but we cant quite talk about that right now (dont want to make promises that might fall through) but we are putting in alot of time to give to the coh community as a whole.

So THANK YOU again to everyone whos pitched in and/or even given there slightest opinion about something. There are no small opinions or parts

Oh, and thank you for checking out the thread, the comic, the video, the site and anything else I left out. Please feel free to give your feedback to us (negative and positive) to help us be more motivated and improve!

To continue the Round Table discussions slightly, I am Golden Masquerade. I consider myself little more than the Freedom Server's Wallflower and a general lurker in the CoX forums. But when inspiration strikes, I love to write stories and CoX is full of them.

My main story at the moment is Angelfish. The story is about my main character, Dr. Lore, a villain with a lot of goals in mind which are more about her quality of life than world domination. While most stories were humorous "a day in the life" with little theme or purpose, I've been experimenting with using in-game story arcs and having Dr. Lore be a part of them. So far, it's been a huge sucess.

I'd like to thank everyone looking at the thread and taking interest, as everyone in the CCC did a lot of work. Bringing the group together, making the website, and putting together our own comics (coming soon) was well worth the effort. I'm happy to be a part of a growing web community, and I welcome anyone who'd like to be a part of CCC in making comics and helping to expand.

We have a lot of suprises in store for everyone (alike Sin, I'm not making any promises yet), so stay tuned!

Round Table Introductions continued.........

I am Kinetic Kitten (a.k.a. TechSpider) Resident of the Freedom Server since the beginning and playing the game since the COH Beta and owning 3 accounts, I have lots of characters to write stories for. (most of them are on the site in the KK-Comics Who's Who issues)

I write a mixture of comedy and serious comics. Confessions of A Teenage Blapper, Good Ole Days, Master-Minding My Own Business, and Rona LIVE! are all comedy comics. Whereas, Rona Cosell's: Behind the Mask, and Malibu Dreams/Nightmares are serious comics.

My main characters in the KK-Comics Universe revolve around Kinetic Kitten, TechSpider, Rona Cosell, and Evil Malibu Barbie. All others are superflous around these main character's stories.

My comics are posted semi-regularly, and on my website KK-Comics.com (linkage in the signature), and there are cross-title events going on in my 'Universe'. I mix in-game knowledge, with comic situation, and of course COH/V locations and zones.

I, along with Torres Prime, are the resident Website guru's in the group and would be happy to any fledgling comic writers out there, in helping with Hosting and Formatting for the comics on the web. I run my site with anywhere from 1-3k hits per month, and currently run about 150k bandwidth per month at a cost of only $5 per month for hosting.

I have over 50 comics hosted on my site all published with Comic Book Creator software (now defunct and non-existent).

Now on to others..............

Round Table Introduction:

Chase Arcanum here. Perpetually late on all projects, including a site I promised to have up months ago for the CCC... (sigh).

I guess I'm still a founding member even though all my comics (and site) have been stalled in development for several months (the site gets top priority- I SWEAR!)

I've created a few comic guides using comic-book-creator and was in the process of making a series of comic layout templates that would work in photoshop or GIMP (for people that can't get CBC) when my free time became measurable in nanoseconds. That's still my next project- after the site template. Expect it in 2020 at this rate. After that... I might have time for comics again.

And, further round-table introduction:

I am Olantern, author of various CoX comics, the only one of which currently still exists on the internet is "One Light," linked in my signature and on the CCC website. While real-life concerns have kept me from completing the screenshotting process on succeeding issues, my primary series deals with Kid Eros, a hero who deals with romance-related problems. Despite the slightly silly premise of using a cherub as a hero, the stories are fairly grim stuff, dealing with big-time themes like the meaning of love and heroism.

Unlike some of my fellow CCC'ers, I'm not a technical person; I'm a writer by training and inclination. I'm always happy to help with any questions anyone has on structure and story. Thanks to everyone who's shown interest in the CCC!

Hello, hello out there,

drrmidnight here, yet another member of the CCC. Looks like I'm late to the introduction game, but ah well. I am the creator of Neighborhood Watch, which has been running since February 2006. Just about as soon as I discovered the cbc software, I started making my comics. Neighborhood Watch has been rolling around in my head for many years, but the combination of COX and the CBC software has finally enabled me to make it a reality. My story follows the adventure of a young man as he is recruited by a masked vigilante and trained in crime-fighting.

Just today I released a new issue at my official site:

www.theneighborhoodwatch.net

Everyone in the CCC brings something rich to the table. If anything, I guess my passion is just for telling stories and for pushing the limits of what I can do with COX as the medium for making comics. My stories aren't based on my SG, or game-play, but are just original stories that I try to realize within the confines of the game and available tools. I recently made the move to a new program for creating comics called "Comic Life." Since then, I've really been able to push my stories in a new direction. Anyway, always happy for new readers to the Watch, and always willing to help or give advice on making comics using COX.

Take care,

Doc
