Just poppin in to say I'm really diggin' the paper everyone. Quite nice!

Maybe I need to clarify my position. I'm not so much worried about involvement as much as I am about control. The Devs controlling the scoop is one thing, but a group of people being the sole source of information that goes into it is another. As with life, there are factions in every community. It would be a little unfare if say a L.A. group of artists did the art articles and were the main selectors in what art gets posted. Then the N.Y. artists would never get reconized and they would feel short changed. Then after awhile the N.Y. artists would get resentful and then would find other places to go. What point I wanted to get across was that I would like to see ALL the artists represented in the scoop. That includes the South American group, the Philippeno group and so on. It would become a elitist thing if the only people who got in were the L.A. artists because they were able to smooze the controlling faction and not because their work was good.

Now if this is a case of no one else is adding their stuff to the scoop and the L.A. artists are, then I'll just have to implore the other artists to get involved.

I just don't want to see anyone left out. There has been a case recently in the channels that a group of people were excluded from a channel because of their focus. I didn't want that situation to happen again.

And Lighthouse, if I feel I have anything worth while to contribute, I will. That won't happen often seeing how I tend to be too picky about what I do because of a perfectionism flaw. That and the fact that what I do on the side is very sporatic.

We don't want anyone left out either. But there's only so much that'll fit in one edition. If there's someone you'd like featured, give a shout to TA and ask if he's got that person already lined up. He's a real nice guy and always open to suggestions.

Your response made me feel that I got my point across without sounding whiney or gripey. All I wanted to to ensure that we saw a big view of the art forums and not a narrow view. The art forums and the artists who do CoX art for the appreciators come from all over the globe and as both an mediocre artist and art appreciator, I love seeing art from here, Australia, Phillippines, Europe, Asia, and South America. I think the only continent that I have not seen art from is Antartica. (Go Figure!?!) I also like the different styles that ranged from comic classic to anime.

I guess I was worried because of something else that has happened recently associated with CoX. My intent was NEVER to say that anyone was not doing a good job because they were! And I was definately not asking for more because I really do think that alot has already gone into the scoop every week.

I'd only consider the last two editions to have an art section per se. Before that, we were trying to highlight artists but all we did was stick a small pic in that linked to their DA page. Then TA joined up and he did interviews and a bunch of stuff.

It seems like there's something new each week too. Wait till see what else we're working on.

First, I say to all, GREAT JOB! I love The City Scoop, it is fun and refreshing. It seems to improve with each edition.

Second, I am very interested in the market watch section. I don’t know if the information is of any real use to me, but the overall trends fascinate me.

Third, I am sorry to say that I really didn’t care about the horoscope. Perhaps it is because I generally ignore them in all media. It is fascinating to learn of the great lengths that Athy went to make the horoscopes “true” to form. I guess I might go back and….nah, nvm.

Finally, I believe that what makes this a great rag is that you are open to ideas and new faces. I enjoy reading The City Scoop, because I have come to know most of you in the forums and in the game—AND I JUST STARTED CoH THIS YEAR. I don’t personally desire to contribute to the paper at this time, but highly encourage those that worry of elitisms to make an effort to contribute. I am glade to see that you as a group have been able to not only “keep it up”, but continue to improve it.

I wanted to stick my head back in here and say thanks to Flareback for clarifying his position. Sorry if I came across as harsh, but I want that kind of thinking nipped in the bud, because it's not how we're trying to run things at all.

We really just want to put out something that's fun for everyone. It's a lot of fun doing it so far, and it makes me glad to see people enjoying it.

2 and 10 down are the only ones I am having trouble with, since I can't seem to find a reference at the moment to Libbies Grandmother, and there are currently 12 of these is so obscure it doesn't come to mind off hand, unless it's a hero thing then it's way out of my league.

Not to be a spoil sport or anything, but how is Joseph Michael Linsner going to react about his character Dawn being used for Athy's picture? Unless of course, Mr. Linsner okayed it (which I doubt, because he wouldn't want the named changed). Just curious and wanting to avoid a possible legal debacle (as opposed to a debate).

All I was saying, Snow_baller, is that if NCSoft is linking to the Community Scoop thing, they as a company should have a disclaimer stating it is not company done. I realize that copyrighted images can be used blah blah blah as you so nicely pointed out.

I don't come to these forums very often, and if you are representative of the calber of person that represents the Community Scoop as Badge FAQ editor, I guess I won't be back again. Give you a title, and it goes to your head. Besides, I've come to the conclusion it was all to get your post count up. Size does matter, eh, Snow_Job?

Ok you two, time to relax. Snow, I've responded directly to Jwee via PM. I didn't want to drag the thread down the fiery path of flameishnessness and stuff. Jwee, as I told you, I don't think Snow is attacking you per se, he may just be a little short fused overall, we've gotten some not too happy stuff too. I'll have to ask if there's a 'Wrong Place, Wrong Time' badge...

But you know what, the why's don't really matter. We all like the Scoop. We all like the game. Overall, the issue itself is resolved as far as it can be right now. Now, hug and be friends or I'll fire up the massive orbital space cannons of doom and totally blow this thread up!
