From a powers/animation standpoint, the backpack geometry fades away after a period of non-use. I do not believe the geometry is available as a 'Cape' option so it is always present, though. I'm not Jay, though, so I could certainly be wrong!

OK so I've read the entire forum... & still need info, as to what is in the Good vs Evil edition etc.

(1) What is this "prestige power"? Does it affect SG prestige? Or is it just a travel power? Or both?

(2) What exactly is the "Exclusive Hero and Villain Costumes"? Does it include the special costume parts, such as fortunata & spider helmets that I've seen on some players? Or toga? Arachnos / hero special capes? Witches hat? Xmas stocking cap? Or other NEW items we haven't seen yet?
Tell me more! I want exact details please
(I'd happily fork out money to get the fortunata / spider helms. And geez I'd love it if you made the longbow warden helmet available!)

(3) Can the costumes be bought as a seperate pack? (rather than buying the Good vs Evil). I tried finding the COV costume pack to no avail, I don't think it's for sale anymore. I mainly just want the extra costume parts, and would happily pay for the code for these. What I'm after is one pack with ALL the COV & COH costume parts.

(4) Will this (good vs evil edition, and/or costume packs) be made available for sale in Australia? (Note - I could NOT buy the COH dvd edition anywhere in Oz. I tried to buy if from the PlayNC store, but they DON'T ship to Australia!!!

Different types of prestige. Prestige for SG's is a trackable commodity, like money. Prestige powerslides and stuff, are just glowy effects around your feet when you toggle them on. The one from the Hero Gear kit looks like your sliding with light purple sparklies. Works well for my ice corrupter. Has nothing to do with SG's.

If it's not available in one of the stores there or on the PlayNC site, call them. There's an 800 number floating around somewhere. Anywho, folks in Canada that couldn't get the Hero Gear Kit because of shipping to Canada or whatever were able to call and get it.

The items you've listed were either part of the CoV preorders, event pieces, or collector's edition stuff. You would have had to be around for the event, bought a CoV preorder, or bought a collector's edition to get them. These are the new GvE costume pieces.

Caveat: The CoH collector's edition extras are available through the NCSoft store.

Also, you can buy the GvE extras seperately starting the 29th.

If you by the powers/costume code for $9.99 will they be available for both your Heroes and Villians if you have both games?

Pretty sure the answer will be yes, but wanted to check to be sure.

Too bad if you can't buy the COH collectors edition or preorder pack (the one with spider/fortunata helms), especially for those of us willing to pay good money for it (I can't find these items for sale here, I only find them listed for sale in the US). I only became aware of the MMO fun & COV/COH 12 months ago, if I'd known all this earlier, I would have been rushing to buy the preorder pack, that is if I could buy it here.... as PlayNC dont ship to Australia Someone said something about an '800' number for another shop, but I can't find anything more than that.

I know the costume parts I spoke of were in special events etc, but for those of us who werent around for all of those, I know I'd like the opportunity to gain these items too. Which is why I'd happily pay for them, or, would love it if the events & related costume parts were made available again.

I'm interested in the new costume pieces but can somebody tell me what the auras tab on the pictured costume screen was all about?

At level thirty you get to do a mission that has the reward of giving you the Auras costume section. Things like smoking, crumbling earth, glows, and bright lights. Constant for that costume, and not related to what powers you have going.

There is no doubt...this was greed and prior poor marketing planning! I am actually surprised that they did not think to start with that the truly insane among us would spend even more on a retail package if the online version was not already available. IN FACT, the more I think about it, the more I think this was exactly the plan....get us excited and then rip it out from us....cause perhaps even MORE of us to run and get the retail version.

Well it may backfire....because now we will get to see the features before rushing to the online payment version.

Either way, this is a business....just don't take us all for fools please NC Soft.

This is very disappointing and such a shame because it was so great that NC Soft seemed to have initially been thinking of giving a good level of service to their existing players.

It'll be interesting to see whether the European online purchase of in-game items is similarly delayed as there's no exclusivity to the physical DVD release in the UK.

Let me make sure I understand what this potentially means for me. I dont care about bling, just things that really affect me in game. Looks like that is only the jetpack, and the jetpack will boost any travel power?
I really doubt I'll pay even $10 just to have a small boost to my travel powers.

I do agree with the guy complaining about the concept breaking aspect of this. It would be nice if you automatically got a visual that matched your origin. For example if you are magic origin and get the "jetpack" power then you get wings that show when it's active instead of the jetpack visual.
But there are many examples of this and it would take a lot more work. Maybe CoX2? BTW, what new game is Cryptic working on and when is it going to be released?

I also agree with the guy who noted how part of the fanbase will cheer whatever the devs propose/do no matter what.

I'm still confused on one thing. If this is a Wal-Mart exclusive, how come this edition is not listed on the Walmart.com website. It seems as though they would want to advertise the exclusivity.

I have to say, this pushing back the for-sale date of the in-game items only package is the first thing PlayNC has done that has ticked me off a bit. I've been really looking forward to these, and was happy that I didn't have to buy a 4th retail box to get them (I have CoH, CoH DVD, CoV DVD, and a preorder for each game). Perhaps it's wild speculation, but it seems fairly obvious that WalMart wanted the first chance at selling these in-game items in hopes that players would spend a bit more instead of waiting. And sadly, their strategy might work on me, depending on the retail box price. Do we have any official word on what WalMart's price is going to be for GvE? If it's $30, I'll probably go ahead and grab it on the 29th, though I may burn the box after retreiving my upgrade code :P
