  1. Congratulations FlyBy - way to go!

    Moving Day!

Hee hee - capturing everyone's best side huh?
  3. My head is swimming from all this. I don't know what it means, but I dang well can't wait to find out. Viva la issue 11!
  4. Dang, this sucks and is awesome all in one. I am truly happy for you - sounds like the new gig will be awesome. I wish you the best of luck. But you will be missed. You've been great to have around, and I for one am sad to see you go. Take care of yourself.
  5. You all keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
  6. BAB I had NO idea. That's pretty cool. I lived in Conroe for 6 years before moving back to Dallas. Loved it there. I'd love to go to the meet and greet, but timing just didn't work out.
  7. I just hope the testing goes sooner than anticipated.

Lighthouse, is there anything other than moving characters back and forth on the test server that we can do to help out with testing? Anything specific we should watch for?
  8. Certainly puts the pain pads in a new light... ew.

Sorry to hear that about the long skirts. This has been one of the costume pieces I've wanted for a while, but I had a feeling that there were problems or we'd have already seen them.

Okay, I sent my friend request but I want Positron and Statesman to simultaneously click the "Accept" button.

I find it funny that people get outraged by myspace. It's just a webpage/forum...nothing wrong with it.

Edit: my real friends will get a good laugh out of me putting CoH/V above them on my friend list...it's been that way the last couple years anyway.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The outrage, as you put it, is that the time and development could have been used on the *main* page.

Simple enough - I want info on Ford, I go to ford.com. See what's on sale at Sears, sears.com. Information on nVidia, nvidia.com. I want info on City of Heroes, I go to Cityofheroes.com. Not myspace-this, blog-that.

    However, it's all moot now.

    [/ QUOTE ]

*snicker* Yes because Ford, Sears, and every other company out there never use any other alternative means to advertise their products. Or get information to consumers. Or try to reach new, untapped audiences. LOL

It's like product placement - any advertising is good advertising in the eyes of some. I probably will never visit the CoH myspace page. But I certainly won't be upset that the CoH team decided to use 5-10 extra minutes to put one together. Some people don't like myspace (me included) but I don't see what there is to get so upset about. Sorry
  10. Great news Posi, and hats off to you guys for doing this again. These are always so much fun, although they usually make my altitis even worse than usual.

Maybe now I can finally get my 2nd 50 after 18 months haha!
  11. Congratulations Beef. It couldn't have happened to a nicer badger.
  12. Maybe as a suggestion you guys could join the Wizard World circuit to go along with SDCC. It doesn't seem that it would be a huge commitment, and I can't think of a more natural fit. I've often wondered why you guys don't send reps there to begin with, but I'm sure you have your reasons.
  13. A word of thanks to all those who entered. It's always nice to read these and see all the hard work that goes into the costumes.

And congratulations to all the winners. Enjoy your prizes!

    1) Character Customization.
This includes the Costume Creator (which I voted for) as well as the ability to slot your powers in the order you like and with enhancements that focus your character's power sets.

    2) Storylines.
I've been playing since just before Issue 2 and I am still finding little story gems I've missed here and there. One of my favorites? The Wheel of Destruction storyline.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Grey, I completely agree with your comments, only in reverse order. It was a VERY tough call. The costumes are fantastic, but the story line is fun. Yeah, there are elements that desperately need updating, but even after a year of playing I still find surprises. So by a VERY close margin I voted for story.

Doesn't the Positron Task Force revolve around 3 factions trying to control the damn in Faultline? Will the zone change necessitate a change to the TF?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I certainly hope so, although nothing has been said from any official source about that issue yet.

Nicely done Arctic - I love the part about the Easter Eggs. And thanks to War Witch for the interview. Especially considering the tie in there.

    They do exist!

Rubble, rubble, rubble! Why is there no Rubble pet? Unfair!

    /c'mon, the model already exists!
    /stone tanks unite

    /signed.

I love the pets, don't get me wrong. Only two years to go before I qualify lol. But I really would love to have my own little animated stone. I'm hoping there are more coming. Some of the current ones fit some of my characters fine. But some of my characters don't really have a match.

During one of the DE arcs, I would team regularly with an earth controller. So we'd have me in my Granite armor, her animated stone, and the rock DE (I forget the name) running around. Used to drive the rest of the team crazy lol.
  17. Thanks for the reply Statesman. This is one of the things that has aggravated me (and many others for some time). There is a basic formula that is seriously off as far as I can tell.

I have X amount of hours to play each week. My SG can only have 75 characters currently. Not players, characters. Because I only have X amount of hours to play and therefore bring in prestige, most SG's do not want more than 2 or 3 of my characters in them. So I am caught having to choose which character I play and consequently use to contribute to the SG.

However, it has been clearly stated that the goal of 50 being the level cap is to promote altoholism. I embrace this although I understand why some don't. But the cost of many base items is so high as to run counter to this goal. I'm either stuck picking and choosing which alt I use and which SG to support, or I miss out on content by not being in an SG.

So I am pleased to read your comments, and hope to see some changes made on this front soon. Thank you.
  18. Small QOL change for the win. Thanks Positron. Small change, big impact. Much appreciated.
  19. I had this problem on a new character I created and bugged it. Of course, as I kept playing it eventually did come on. I THINK it was when I hit lvl 4. Going to test this out tonight as well. But at least that way you know it isn't just you.
  20. Too funny. The store I was in this morning had them right out on the shelf. They were actually up top for better visibility. So hopefully other stores have them in now as well.
  21. JUST as info for anyone, I am in the North Dallas area. The Wal-Mart at 635 & Midway received about 10 copies of the Good vs. Evil edition this morning. Of course they do this AFTER I'd already purchased the online code lol...

Was in there to get my copy of X-Men 3 on DVD and saw them.
  22. Funny thing is, if this had been implemented correctly, the majority wouldn't care. My issue is not with Wal-Mart as a corporate citizen, I leave that to those who feel more strongly about it as is their right.

My issue is that it was advertised for release on the 29th. We were later informed that for the first week it would be exclusive to Wal-Mart. Okay, not so bad, I outlined the options earlier in this thread. But then Wal-Mart "runs out" as noted. I don't even mind waiting an extra week. Doesn't really bother me. EXCEPT, the only card I have is Mastercard. So if I want the items (which I do) I have to get them from Wal-Mart (which I can't). THIS is a problem, and needs to be corrected. Or at least addressed.

An official update on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
  23. Hahahaha! Now THAT is funny. I really am not being sarcastic. It's exclusive to one retailer in order for Wal-Mart to make money off of it for a week. BUT that retailer is out of it. Ahhh... the irony. So glad I decided to wait lol. I bet [GM]Dave would have no end of fun with this one.
  24. I'd be very surprised if we were able to contact anyone at Wal-Mart high enough up the food chain fast enough to do anything about it. You can always try to contact their corporate customer service. I don't know the number, but they do have a 1-800 complaint line. Sending them an email is likely to have no effect. ONLY my opinion there based on past experience. You can usually get the 1-800 number from a local store.

Beyond that, I (and I'm sure others) have sent a PM to Cricket asking at the very least for clarification. Perhaps she can at the least shed some light on the issue.
  25. Thanks Kitty - just saw that. Of course, if it's true that they won't take Mastercard, I'll have to have it shipped to a store here. That is the only credit card I have, and the only reason I even have that one is for my CoX subscription. Credit cards and I as a general rule do not get along. I apologize for being such a grump, just wish we could get some redname clarification. I don't mind the wait, and I'm glad we're getting some new content.

As far as the exclusive for a week thing Kitty, believe that stems from the fact that it's available at Wal-Mart.com today, but not from PlayNC until next week. Originally they were supposed to hit at the same time.
