Please read this announcement before you post your questions.

Rumors? We don't need no stinkin rumors! You guys have some questions, and I got you some answers:

The in-game items costs 9.99. You will not lose any of your current in-game items - it doesn't erase your Hero Gear Kit purchase, for example.

You can upgrade your current COH, COV, or COH/COV account with the combo box.

With the 12 character slots...currently, this is the maximum amount of character slots you can have. So if you already have COH/COV, you will still have 12 - you don't get 4 additional slots on top of that.

costume pieces.. one total set or can we mix and match the new items into our current toons?

Might want to add that the purchase of the in-game only stuff does NOT include a month subscription like a box sale would.

Yeah, 9.99 sounds good to me. Can we pay on the NC soft website or do we have to actually buy a cd, wiat for it to arrive, then install it?

The official announcement makes no mention of MSRP for the box, and it's not showing on walmart.com. How about letting us know what we'll have to shell out, so we can decide whether the box goodies like the map and the DVD-ROM are worth the difference in price between the in-game purchase and the box?

What's the recharge on the Pocket D card teleport power? Interruptable or anything else unusual?

Are the free trials for the other games included with online purchase, and what do they include?

Thanks for making the extras available through an online code. It's especially good for us UK folks who still like hanging around on the US servers.

Now, if you could let me buy the VIP & power slide online I'd be even happier.

Is this going to be put onto the Test Server like the CoH Collector's Edition was?

For those that weren't there, before they released the box, they temporarily gave access to the items for those that logged onto the test server. It was a short window (maybe a day?) and they dissappeared after that, unless you upgraded your account.

Will GvE's VIP card unlock the tiki room in the Pocket D? If so, will there be another way to get in, such as by giving the badge out as a veteran reward, too?

Don't know, but it's almost undoubtedly got a significant interrupt time, given that it'd be a free-escape otherwise.

My questions (asked sporadically throughout the doozens of threads on this subject ) and now with the current knowledge given by Cricket have been answered. Yay for all the goodies for $9.99!!

And no kiddies...it does not appear that the free month is included. However, it will make a great christmas or birthday gift to your fellow hero or villain. Cheers!

I'm guessing this will only be usable outdoors and not in missions. But I might be wrong.

Can you tell us if the jetpack will remain visible or will it vanish when the 30 seconds is up. Obviously the power benefit would vanish after the 30 seconds but.. just hoping there's a way to keep it visible for those characters who want that option for their costume.

Any word on how much the boxed edition will run? While I dont need maps and comics and all that extra stuff - a CD with all the updates up until now would be most welcome should I ever have to reinstall. If it's only 20 bucks, I might go that way instead.

Sales tax on the $9.99?

Let's break this down... I heard somewhere the GvE box would be $30 (remember kiddies, Wal-Mart is not trying to be the $50/$60 game seller like EB/GS).

$15 = 1 month
$10 = the goodies code
$5 = DVD (so you can easily re-install), map.

DVD is said to have:

"DVD bonus digital items: City of Heroes® comic books, Prima® Issue 7 Strategy Guide update pack, movies, game trailers, screenshots, and more!"

Comics are already a free download.

Update pack is a free download.

Movies are probably also free downloads, either here or Gamespot.

Game trailer... It's possible Cryptic's next MMO games might have their first trailer appearance on the DVD, but it might be too early for that.

"and more!" -- We clearly need to know what "and more!" is.

This is clearly a great gateway box for a new player, and it's nice for reinstalls. For those with only CoH, I'd tell them to pick up a cheap copy of CoV instead, esp. if they can get a pre-order helmet or the collector's arachnos cape.

I'm leaning towards the $10 code unless I win another of Statesman's trivia contests at a convention.

The Jump Jet sounds like it'll seriously help out lowbies in areas with high walls, as well as heroes with travel powers, so for the $10, it's worth it in time saved. Tiki Room is just a bonus.

Not sure on the "exclusive costumes" but if they include all the Toga pieces from the Valentine's Event, that'd be a good start.

Also, wouldn't it be a treat if the old VIP/Destined One badge let you in to the Tiki room also?

As-is, that old badge is just taking up space and inflating badge counts.
