Well, as far as value as long as it's in the $30 range it balances out. At least gets pretty close to it.
$9.99 Online version = bonus items without 1 month free
$30 - In-store version = bonus items + 1 month paid game time
So that part, while I'm not thrilled, is okay. I know they're in business and this is a perfect opportunity to get some new customers. I also know we will have access to the items if we want to wait. Just rather disappointing.
And what is the deal with the Mastercard? Has this been confirmed that online they won't accept it?
Is the code for GvE actually available to be bought, or is it just CoH/CoV for now? It would be great to at least be able to buy it now, even if we can't actually access the stuff that way (because it won't activate until Oct. 6th). If anything else, then to beat the rush and possible lag time from so many trying to order the code.

Yeah...I checked this morning and saw it there as well. Says in stock so I suppose that's a good sign for those purchasing in store or online via wallyworld site.

Feh, I've called just about every Walmart in the area (there are about 20) and I can't find a single one that knows anything about the box or whether they will even have it. Most have expressed doubt that they will since with a shelf date of tomorrow they should have seen it already.
Not really familiar with these exclusive through one store offery things : ) When they say that do they mean only the on-line store... which from many of the ppl I spoke to seems possible...
Has anyone found out if a store near them has these in their backstock ready for tomorrow or should I just order over the web now?

One you have to understand how retailers work. I myself work for Target and I know for a fact through friends that have worked at both Target and Wal-Mart that theres about 2 people in the store that actually know anything about incoming goods. The team lead for electronics probably knows if they have the game in stock or not but they won't tell the electronics associates that they have things in stock unless specifically asked. The other person funny enough is the truck driver that delivers the goods. Also when you call stores you might actually be talking to someone covering electronics while the electronics team member is on there break or lunch thus meaning that this person is really just bsing and has no idea what they're talking about. And thus is the magic land of retail.

Walmart's confirmed not selling it until the 9th. None of my 24-hour Walmarts have it, and they told me on the phone with Merchandising and Customer Service (both supervisors) that they weren't selling it until the 9th, which I just had confirmed for me in-store (supervisor again). It's not a question of "Oh I don't know when it's going to be in." it's "Yes, this will be out on the 9th."
What happened?
Be Aware: This type of snafu is a NCSoft responsibility and NOT a Cryptic responsibility. Even then, it's still not a Cricket responsibilty.
We may never know why it happened because: A) It's not important for us to know, and B) no one will care much in a couple of weeks. Things happen. Never make your schedule around a software release date.

I have a Walmart supercenter across the highway from where I work. I took a looksie over there on the way into work this morning. Nada. So, apparently there was some kind of mistake. I would have asked someone about it...but there were no employees handy as usual. 
Hopefully we can get something official regarding this.
I just checked the walmart.com website. It does show it currently in stock and with a 1 day delivery selected it would arrive between October 2-3 plus any processing time.
So, I'm wondering if the 29th was internet exclusive only?

No matter how you spin it though, its not good business. I do not see it as any surprise for people to point fingers at the ones that provided them the info. That's just the way it is in retail as people could care less about the background processes. Whoever presents the face/voice of the company is going to catch the grief.
Well, spent this morning calling the 20 Walmart stores with in 30 miles me (I figure thats a good cut off point : ) And none of them seem to have a single GvE box on their shelves. Again most of them are telling me that it's probably only an online store exclusive... if that's the case I wish we would have been told.
I suppose it makes sense though... CoX probably isn't a massive seller and an edition that will only draw those who want to save download time or those who must-have all available perks well that's not gonna be a big seller. Shipping it and guessing at demand would probably be hard too. Feh I guess I'll wait for the NCSoft online version... though I really wanted the DVD disc with all the updates.

I just ran across the highway to the Walmart Supercenter. Still nothing. The guy there looked like I'd sprouted another head when I asked about it.
I suppose this is an online only deal. I too wish we had been told ahead of time if this is the case. I wanted this set for the DVD, but I suppose I'll wait for the online version from NCSoft.

I'm moving to Florida, and going to be really freaking busy. Add to that that the only Wal-Marts are... uh... really nowhere near me at all, and I'm seeing a smaller and smaller chance of ever getting the physical box.
I guess I could buy it online but OH LOOK THEY CHANGED THE RELEASE DATE TO THE 9TH FOR THE ONLINE CODE.

I'm finding the same results this afternoon in my area. If this was going to be an online only purchase they should've let us known in advance. I'm pretty livid since I've spent the last 2 hours in some shape or form on hold or being transferred and repeating myself.
It's in stock in their online store. With 1 day shipping, it'll arrive around Monday or Tuesday.

CAN you change the shipping method from site to store?
Edit: I see if you get far enough in the process it finally lets you change it. Still the extra money isnt worth the extra two days.
My boyfriend called 3 Wal-Mart's in our area, everyone is clueless and has no idea. Said they might have them in the back and they don't know when they will be unpacked. Wal-Mart is an awful store and I hope that NC Soft never does an exclusive with them again as it's a total disgrace.

<.< now the fun part.. I checked the website, Walmart.com listed it as coming out on the 26th of this month at about 1pm eastern time. At 1:40 something, the date had been removed from the page and it now said that you could get it instored in 7-10 weeks if you order it online...
o.o this was kinda the blink blink moment.. I ended up sending an email to the site ppl about it, and was told that its an exclusive online package.. >< what the hecks going on?
o.o I have just one thing to say really about this... GO BACK TO GIVING THE EXCLUSIVES TO TARGET AND BESTBUY!!!

*sigh* Called about 15 Wal-Marts here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to check. Couple of them here actually knew about it, but none of them had seen it yet. Really disappointing. Kind of like being told your getting a Red Ryder bb-gun for Christmas, only to open the last box and find a pair of sox and a note for an IOU.
Pushing the in game items back is so unfair. Its such a transparent tactic to get us to purchase the games again just so we can get the in games items when we thought we would. And at three times the price. Who needs another set of the games. I already have two and dont need another.
Im really upset by this. I know its only a week from the original schedule but damn I was so excited about the new costume pieces. And I dont live near any walmarts so I have no choice but to wait until its offered in the online store.
