They may add more power-sets in the patron/ancillary area but I highly doubt that all the sudden a Blaster will get access to the Mu Mastery patron power-sets. Some of the schemes people come up with for this just seem very over complicated.

My prediction is that one of two things will happen:

    1) They will just remove the arc completion requirement from the patron power-sets so they are essentially the same as the ancillary power-sets in that they just open up at level 41. The arcs will remain to actually do, maybe with a respec reward upon completion, but you won't have to complete them to get access to the powers. With the current patron power-set included as being able to be respec'd, the patron arc completion is less significant before and doesn't really hold the same meaning other than you did 1 of 4 arcs, when before it was arc XYZ got you ABC powers. That could be a sign of them just removing the requirement all-together.

    2) They will just introduce heroic equivalents for the rogue villainous archetypes to do unlocking patron arcs for. The power sets will be identical to the current Mu/Leviathan/Mace/Soul Mastery. The patron could be the praetorian versions of the patrons. Missions could be nearly identical as well. Rogue heroic archetypes just have their ancillary pools open up at level 41 as they do now.

The whole idea that because a Blaster is villainous they now have to chose between the Dominator patron pools, or because a Mastermind is heroic they get access to the Tanker ancillary powersets (or whatever ATs you pick, just using as examples) sounds overly complicated and prone to bugs and balance issues since the current sets are balanced and designed for their specific archetypes.

I doubt they would give more respecs to us every time we switch sides so change out the ancillary and patron pools based on our morality because that would kill their micro-transaction setup they currently have for it. Why pay $10 when you could just switch sides and get a freespec.
    I agree.

So, if you're a villain that's just turned hero, you might have a hard time getting respect from cops, people distrust you, scientists don't trust you enough to give you enhancements. Same goes for heroes turned villains too. Other villains don't know where you stand, so you have to earn your way up so that Arachnos trusts you enough to give you access to those enhancements etc.
I agree that it's something you gain from your actions. That being said I think there is nothing worse a Hero could do than turn evil. If influence is a measure of his actions as a hero then going rogue is worth at least that much infamy.

I have an example as to why I think you are wrong. In the world of professional wrestling (an also make believe world of heroes and villians) Hulk Hogan is an icon and was easily the most popular wrestler in the 80's if not ever. In the 90's he "turned bad" and instantly was the most hated (or infamous) villain in the "sport". As much as he had been loved he was now hated. This is why I think here in CoH it makes complete sense to keep whatever inf you have if you change sides.

My theory is that only toons in Praetoria will be switching sides. Once you are back in Paragon City or the Rogue Isles you will be back to what you always were. It's only a theory and not based on any fact, rumor or desire on my part. It's just how I think it will probably wind up working.

This is what I was referring to. The team that was currently working on CoH stayed when given the choice.

Cast off? If I remember correctly they were all offered the opportunity to leave with Cryptic and most if not all stayed.

And you'll find a large contingent of players (well people on these boards anyway) who were not only thrilled when Jack Emmert left CoX but also feel that Matt Miller has done a far better job at the helm.

    Agreed.
  11. How is that not from funnyordie.com? It can't be real but if it is I'm watching it. I still have a lingering crush on Debbie Gibson from my childhood.

Ugh, CoH on a console. What an abomination.

    Actually ...

... my Xbox 360 could do a passable job of running Co* (relatie RAM shortage aside). Control-wise, I mean. This product covers the Keyboard needs; the panoply of other buttons on any '360 controller gives you a wide range of options for activating powers ... and that's all without altering the UI at all, just putting an interpreter between the controller and the current UI.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I play CoH with my 360 game pad and have used a game pad since I started playing in '04. At this point my PC is getting long in the tooth and the game doesn't run all the great anymore. If a port came out for the PS3 that played on the same servers I would buy a PS3 in a heart beat to get the game.

I would prefer, if you were to go ahead with this type of option, to have it automatically set so that the information is NOT published on the WWW. Having such a setting set to grant access, as it appears, is a false agreement between NCSoft and myself. I would consider that type of publishing data, without prior consent, an invasion of privacy.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They can easily change the EULA that appears when you launch the game to include this functionality.

Just wanted to add my vote to the "it's fine the way it is" tally.
  15. A much easier solution would be to buy a Xbox 360 wired controler. It already has a regular USB connector and the drivers are available from Microsoft.

Will the box have a paper copy of the Prima guide update or just a link to the .pdf file already available online?

I'm thinking based on "digital" it means its the PDF.
  18. I hope I snuck in just under the wire. I would love to have one done of Sunstroke. If I'm in let me know and I'll e-mail you a couple of screen shots.

    Thanks
  19. There is no way a 15 minute buff should cost more than one piece of refined salvage. As has been said in this thread already, as it stands now this does not help a small SG at all. I'm in a group of 5, if we pooled all our salvage I doubt we could craft more than a few of the lower tier buffs let alone any of the tier 3s.

    Accolade powers

Nope, no accolade powers for villians yet. I would assume they will be there when Issue 7 hits.
