Official Thread for Issue 7 Badges
Apparently the zone you get to do your mayhem in depends on the lvl range of the contact you receive it from. I got mine from the guy in Grandvill (name escapes me) and it was in Founders (makes sense, FF is a lvl 40 zone). I'll try it again probably tonight to see if I get the same zone (I hope so, I missed the Anarchist badge while I was there last time).

Based upon a post by Positron, the badges for defeating signature heros/villains will be open to the other side. There is a simpler way than killing them while confused though. Maybe if you figure that out, you won't consider this impossible

FF (And Bricks) is a 30 zone. The only real 40 zones are RCS (Hazard), Peregrine Island and the Shadow Shard
High Beam - 50 Blaster Energy/Ice - 1228 Badges
Munitions Mistress - 50 Mercs/Traps
Many Other 50's, Too Many Alts, All On Freedom
Just Because You Can, Doesn't Mean You Should!
High Pain Threshold requires Technofreak. Just got it.
So,
Demonic, it appears that its not an Accolade that most of us are familar with from CoH side. It has no clickable power. It doesnt show up in the power listings like accolade powers do. It mentions that it provides protection from all damage, yet how does one activate it? Did I miss something or is this a new kind of accolade that we are going to need to figure out how to get it to work? Does anyone with this Accolade have the clickable power for it?
I didn't recive my +10% HP from High pain threshhold either. That and having "Demonic" without the clicky power leads me to believe that the powers are currently bugged.
Or I hope so anyways. Seems kinda pointless to say a badge gives you some change, and then doesn't.
[grumbles something about a half-demonic character not being allowed to use 'demonic aura']
@Nameless Hero, Insane Sword-wielding Video Game Hero - Also a character in CoH
Yukie Bikouchi, Halfway Lost, and others
The Accolade powers are all rewarding at semi-random. I got High Pain Threshold, but not the other two powers.
On another note, has anybody found an exploration badge in the Steel Canyon Mayhem Mission? A friend and I looked for at least 20 minutes after everything else on that map was destroyed and could not find one.
Other than that, exploration badges have been found in all the Mayhem Missions. Atlas, Kings Row, Skyway, Independence Port, Talos, Brickstown, and Founder's Falls.
As far as I can tell, Peregrine requires a lvl 45 character to get to, and nobody has seen it yet.
Just a thought, but are the mayhem mission badges maybe a bit too easy to get? I'm only L13, but I so far have Impounder, Outlaw, Safe Cracker and Vandal. Considering they are the ones in every MMission, shouldn't they be a bit higher?
It has become apparent that Deathless, the 4th debt badge, is required for the High Pain Threshhold accolade.
Please don't do this. Some of us actually try NOT to die in this game
Debt for an Accolade? oh yeah, that hurts. paying off debt isn't much of an achievement. It's not something you can specifically work at - it's just a byproduct of whatever you're doing at your time. This is not the same as hunting a specific group or doing a particular mission. You may as well make the levle 40 badge (whatever it's called) a requirement - and that would be a pretty lame requirement, IMHO.
This is another reason why I hate to see contacts unlocked with Infamy badges. You can't work on Infamy. Let us unlock the special powers and contact with stuff we can go out and really earn.

My sentiments exactly. I try my hardest not to die, and I've only had ONE character earn ANY debt badge as a result (and only the first one). And they only earned it around level 35 or so. Mind you I've only gotten one character to 40 in the past two years. So to have to purposely die and earn what is in my own opinion a badge of shame is really distasteful to me. I fully understand that some people have no problem with dying, some people like to be in permadebt, and some people just can't help it whether as a result of personal lack of skill, bad PUG's, lag, or any number of other reasons. I freely admit that I'm not as skilled at this game as many. I just have a cautious playstyle.

Like the new Television contact in Grandville that seems to require the Midas Touch (20 MILLION Inf) badge? Really, really bad idea in my opinion. I didn't get to do Doc Buzzsaw because of her badge requirement and this one requires 20 times as much!

well, besides the game design philosophy reasons, there's a lot of practical reasons that 20 Infamy is bad. and it comes down to this: Just how long will it take to get that much?
I've been working to get my SGs base raid-worthy. I barely got Bling before outleveling Doc, so I can't be higher than 1.5 million. Most people dedicated to SG mode are the same. Can I even unlock this contact in time? It's sure to be hours - I can't spare hours to even test 6 missions.
and if I can earn this without outleveling the contact, how much Prestige does the SG miss out on so that I can get 6 missions?
and even if I don't see that Prestige sacrifice as worth it, how many people in my SG will try this? This will hurt us a lot - and I don't want to tell SG friends not to do certain missions.
I guess I'd rather have a requirement for the Television that is something I could help my SG-mates earn, even if it's difficult. I can help them kill mobs. I can't really help them gain Infamy any better than they can themselves.

I agree 100%. Badges for paying off debt is fine and all, but an actual meaningful reward shouldn't be given out for poor playing.
When playing a toon from level 1-50, you receive the first infamy badge around lvl 28-30, the second infamy badge around 41, and the third around 48-49. It may seem like 20 million is a lot, but it isn't. My lvl 50 hero routinely earns a 300-500k influence an hour, so the 10 million to go from the second to the third infamy badge will be nothing by level 50. You should earn the 3 infamy badges without any extra effort.

You're assuming that people never play in SG mode. For those of us who do like to play in SG mode and actually help out our SG's, this is virtually impossible to get. I didn't get the first badge until 32, and I doubt I've made any progress toward the second badge, since I like to play in SG mode.
For there to be a contact that requires you to completely abandon your SG in order to be able to do that contact's missions is just absurd. There are over two hundred other badges in the game. I'm sure there are plenty of badges that would be appropriate.

Guess I should post on the offical thread as well.
My sediments exactly. Please do not make Deathless a requirement for this accolade. If anything, make it the 1st or 2nd debt badge, but please not the 4th
I too pride myself on not dieing. After all I grew up on arcade games where everytime you died you have to put a quarter into the machine to continue. Its a habit Ive adopted and I strive to play all games the same way. Thus I avoid debt as much as possible. Always have and always will.

Sucky though it may be, I have to point out one thing, Deathless isn't for Debt. It is for number of deaths.
I'd be damn impressed if you've dodged that one all the way through the game.

I got the Overlord badge, but I didn't receive the Accolade. I then went and killed 250 Hellfrosts. I received Coldhearted, the gladiator, and the Demonic Accolade.
Coldhearted and Demonic
i dont think deathless being a requirement is that bad, if u dont have deathless, u dont really need the extra 10%hp

So you say 10 million at 40, and another 10 million by 48 or so? That means that for my characters who played mostly in SG mode, they currently have maybe 2 million at 40. They'll NEVER get this badge in time to unlock the contact, they'll be at 14 million at 50. Other people may not leave SG Mode right at 40 - they'll stumble on the contact later. Seeing as the badge never has a meter, I may not realize just how impossible it will be for me because I already spent so much time in SG Mode. (hmm... uninformed choice to favor SG Mode over Contact Content... uninformed choices are still considered bad, right?)
So if you want to do 6 missions from a Television, you can not use SG Mode from 25 up to 49. Most SGs won't be happy with that. Sure, it's *my* problem if I want to skip this content Though personally don't like seeing content I can't enjoy, I can accept this. My alts skip the fun Slot Machine missions because Gangbuster is too much of a grind. But other people's decision about this content will affect my SG, and that's suddenly a problem for me.

Not true. Per CuppaJo, all such badges are for debt. Not sure where that post was, though.
(This confusion continues to spread because some people and some websites copy badge guides from each other and never correct them.)

Tell that to someone who lives for PvP.
There's been a change to the process of getting History badges...clicking plaques knocks you out of stealth, invisibility, and phase shift. Apparently we have to read aloud and that gives us away.
