Official Thread for Brutes: Electric Shields

has anyone actually tested the Slow resist from Lightning Reflexes? People keep claiming it as this massive plus, but no one has posted anything, AFAIK, about how good that slow resist actually is. We do have a precedent to compare it to: Permafrost is a passive with resist slow, but it sucks major donkey.

FYI: Electric Shields' Grounding Power will have Immobilize and Knockback Protection added. The set will still not have a Heal power or HP Buff power.
[/ QUOTE ]
Any chance of Fiery Aura and Dark Armor getting an adjustment like this as well?

It will provide protection from a single application of the glue arrow that SWAT Equalizer's fire. A second hit from that will have full effect.
crapola... now I seriously need a free respec on test...
wonder if they will pass out another one any time soon???
what to build....

Great!
Now how about seeing about getting it added to the Fiery Aura and Dark Aura sets for Brutes and Tankers?

[/ QUOTE ]Then let's take away the heal dark and fire has.
I believe some of the same people that are posting arguments of fire and dark not having KB protection are the same people earlier in the post that were saying something like, "Yes Dark Armor and Firey Aura have self heals, this makes them more unique compared to other sets like Electric Shields" Now thanks to the nicely detailed posts from everyone we have something they dont :P
P.S. The quote is not an exact quote, but a combined quote represented in the way that I understood it.
Has anyone been able to determine whether Lightning Reflexes has +FlightSpeed in addition to +Recharge and +RunSpeed? The description of the power doesn't seem to be explicit one way or the other. It would make sense for it to be +Flightspeed considering all the Mu red-lightning flying about.
If things were literal, Grounded would require you to be in contact with the ground, but we all know that even Rooted doesn't keep you rooted, so let's hope that LR has +Flightspeed!
I suppose the only sure way to test it (since it's an auto), is to Gain A Level, measure your flight speed, then get your power, and measure again. Has anyone been able to do this?
thanks!
Testing resistance numbers so far. Level 7 with level 10 Training Enh 3 slotted to Charged Armor and Conductive Shield.
S/L 30.76% resistance
Fire/Cold 30.76% resistance
Energy 61.70% resistance!!
Neg Energy - Unable to test yet. No Neg Energy dmg to be found at this level.
Quite impressive so far to me. Cant wait to get DOs, which will most likely cap my energy resistance with the next shield I am getting.
Will keep an update going on further tests.

Wow...someone is actually asking to nerf this early....all i can say in the most polite way possible is....before you demand something please look and test the set...and tell me if there arent holes...but if your to...what's the word...okey not a tester...let me tell you... 1. it has no self heal...2. it has toxic resistant...3. compared to Invul it doesnt cap lethal and smashing 4. it has no repel like Invul
[/ QUOTE ]
1- true force into med pool and you have to buy insp oooo so hard
2- no toxic res now thats true the toxic spider would be a pain but thats about it
3- just huh? there is a res cap on all sets ;p (and you claim i'm not a tester and you dont even know small facts like that)
4- no repel? it just might be unlisted like on invuln, anyone try it?
and yes the holes in elec seam lesser then other
take a quick look at fire (and mean quick)
Fire - no res to KB shields/slow/repel
Imm protection off Burn
35.3% L/S/E/N
74.1% fire
18.6% cold
15% Toxic (and that off the heal)
0% Psi
also true they have a weak heal
so not only can fire get knocked about slowed to a crawl and immed the 1st ice anything they run acrossed will rip you apart specaily in pvp
(with 3 ++ res SO in the shields and 1 in temp protection sents nobudy takes it)
now tell me the heal on fire is why elecs numbers are So mutch bigger

because fire has been around since launch and the devs take forever to fix broken things?
howabout you lay off the nerf talk if your only point is that other sets could use a little love too. no one disputes that fire needs help and has needed it for a long time now. it is not a reason to try and rain on other people's parade.
Level 50 is a journey, not a destination.

probly just me but rather see it get hit now before it goes live then have it get hit a patch are 2 after it goes live
As posted previously, Fire's heal is being looked at and might even see a fix by the end of issue 7 testing. Just be patient.

QFT!!!
Since knockback is so common, the lack of protection against it really makes this powerset undesirable. You have to either get CJ/Superleap/Acrobatics or three-slotted Hover for status protection that's a "gimme" in many other sets. Those costs are excessive.
I have a fire tank with Acrobatics and it's usable (barely) because tanks don't have to attack all the time -- they just have to stand there and take aggro. Brutes have to attack all the time to keep Fury up. With an endurance hog like Acrobatics, it makes for a lousy combination.
Grounded might be a good candidate for KB protection. since Static Shield already has End Drain protection.

Healing Flames sucks nuts. I would gladly trade it for a passive KB/Immob resist.
You can have Dark Regeneration when you pry it from my cold dead hands. But Wait! I have Dark Regen, so my chance of actually dieing is greatly diminished. Unless I'm knocked down and can't execute it... Hover or Acro is a fair tradeoff for having the best self heal in the entire game.
Hover/Acro used to be a good tradeoff for having Burn. But that ship sailed a long time ago.

This is really significant. This is not the kind of change I've come to expect from this dev team and it speaks to a shift in attitude regarding balance VS build flexibility.
I have renewed faith.

3 slotted with SOs those numbers are 90% energy, 41% smashing, lethal, fire, cold, psionic and 35% negative. Not understanding why it matters what TO and DO numbers are. But TOs would be 71% E, 30% S, L, F, C, P and 26% N. DOs will be 80.5% E, 34% S, L, F, C, P and 29% N.
Most people either posts base numbers or 3 slotted with SOs because posting the other numbers confuses some.

_Castle_, I think I'll quit if you ever leave
The sudden rush of air everyone just felt was my sigh of relief at the breathing room in my soon to be elec/elec's build. Still tight for room, but now I have the option of getting superspeed as a travel power since I want hasten anyways, and saving 2 power slots over the old build.
[ QUOTE ]
What is the running speed in lightning reflexes like? Enough to skip super speed or is it closer to swift?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd guesstimate its the same as swift, which is what the similar 'quickness' power in the SR set gives too.
Always remember, we were Heroes.
