What the heck is War Witch doing alive, fighting in Grandville?

[/ QUOTE ]

Either some kind of content or... it's a PvP zone... she's there on the internal test server testing. :P

[/ QUOTE ]

Back up--are you saying Grandville is PvP?

CURRENT MAINS: Akero (V) | Polly Spark (V) | Project MALWARE (V) | Barium Bunny (VIP)
ACTIVE INCARNATES: Polly's Revenge (V) | Stygian Kitten (V) | Archon Abrasax (V) | Alpha Antares (V)
Felines | Wolves | Avians | Bovines | Griffons | Centaurs | Insects | Robots
What, you really think HUMANS are going to save the world? LOL!

Posted

Grandville is NOT PvP! That would be Recluse's Victory.

57 seconds in it looks like a character does a knockout blow (the uppercut motion, right?) but his fists have some kind of light around them... electrical charge perhaps?

[/ QUOTE ]

Nope. That's classic Super Strength/Knockout Blow. It's even got the wind up. So the Tier 3 Thug is looking to be a SS/?(Invuln maybe) Brute.

The E/E Brute has the Red SFX. The Electric Melee set looks more like a stylist combination of Spines and some Blaster type power sets. He definately has a range attack like Impale. He's got that Call Light from the Sky AoE and he's got an AoE that appears to be a blast set Nuke power. Hrm, now that I think about it, Electric melee sounds a very similar to the CoH Peacebringer Primary Power set. it's got a a complement of shorter ranges ranges attacks, 3 heavy damage melee attacks, 1 non-Nuke type psuedo-PBAoE attack (Photon Seekers), and a Blaster Nova type Nuke. Electric melee might have less ranges attacks to make it more melee focused. But it's certainly going to be an interesting set to play.

Does anyone know of any alternate links to that video? I can't view it - keeping getting an error. Feh.

Posted

Ok, I really don't think they would make an electrical set with red effects.

Like others said, that immediately looked like the blasts that the Mu Mystics have, so I think it's a Patron Power.

The 3rd Thug henchman looks like he is going to be a super strength tanker guy. At 1:02 in the movie, I think he is the one in the lower right corner that looks like he is plunging his hands into the ground, like the beginning of the Hurl animation.

So, who thinks the Arachnos Flier could be the CoV version of Hammi?

Nope. Not the CoV hammi, I'm sure. Probably just the zone's Giant Monster.

They wouldn't have the "raid" monster in an open city zone like that.

[/ QUOTE ]

Nah. I think are just going to be Boss or Elite Boss type foes. I think the Hamidon type content is going to be the Web Crab Spiders. I saw a super-sized one that the group as fighting. If that is an EB, I'm guessing there are bigger threats up to a Hamidon level somewhere in the zone. Possibly the special event for the zone.

I still say they are just going to open up the Hive for Hero/Villain teaming.

Mark my words!!! *shakes fist in the air*

Saw the vid clip and seeing this new 40-50 a bit has me wanting to see even more. Villains are going to have fun playing pin the tail on the mutated arachnoids!

[Beta Testers]Zombie Man: Harlot is Swan's nickname too. And Dominatrix. And Sister Psyche. And Mynx. And Bobcat. And Synapse.

Don't we already fight them? Or are you suggesting 'all at once?' That would ROCK!

And to the reply about not having it in an open zone...who says each level isn't going to have an instance?

Just musing...

Well after reading the acticle also, I think know the answer. Recluse has put a single Flyer down in what they call the Gutter to kill anything that lives to control the uncontrollable things down there. So I think it's the Giant Monter for the zone.

doh! just re-read the update. for some reason I thought the flier was near the top, not the bottom. You're probably right on the GM thing.

...and did I see an Electric Brute? If so...yup, red, not blue.

If so or if not...that "reach-for-the-sky, pull-down-a-big-ol'-lightning-bolt-and-then-AoE-the-hell-outta-stuff" power was awesome!

[/ QUOTE ]
I really hope that if THAT is electric melee... that they revise it and make it either Blue, White or Yellow.

Electricity isnt red...
Otherwise that lighting from the sky thing is cool (just not in red)

I have to agree gamespot sucks, i can hear but i can't see it. I can't download it, and i'm not going to sign up again just to get their junk mail all over again.

[/ QUOTE ] While the first part is true, the whole not being able to see the video's likely not their problem. I'd been having that issue (along with some videos locking my computer) up untill I recently updated all my codecs and my video driver. Hopefully that'll fix the issue for ya.

[/ QUOTE ]

Oh actually its not thats, its stupid media player 10. For some odd reason it won't show the picture, but when i access the page with COH on, it plays the video in a new window so now i can see it. Bah stupid windows media player 10.

Longbow is a branch of Freedom Corps, a group that employs non-superpowered individuals to help aid the Heroes. If you read the description of longbow wardens they are given their powers through deliberate mutation. Freedom Phalanx on the other hand is a famous Super Group comprised of actual Heroes that we all know and love(hate?). So going up against them would, in essence, be like fighting numerous Hero class Mobs at once. I think that would be sweet.

You guys... did you know on one of the VERY first Snake Missions, the open one where you save all those Arachnos Lt's. and they help you fight? Well... you CAN click on the Flying Arachnos Ship, and it has info and everything. It was labelled as not a Giant Monster but as a "Vehicle" The info stated "This is an Arachnos Assault Ship, if you see one of these... run."

Oohhh yeah! I remember that. Except that ship isn't always there in that mission. Of all of then times I've done that mission (I have a lot of alts -_-) I think that ship has only been there like half the time. It always caught my eye because it was like floating there at some really odd angle.

Compare that to the I7 Feature Description of Grandville:

[ QUOTE ]
Passing through the streets of Grandville it is possible to catch an occasional glimpse into the Gutters below. Through imperfect junctions, missing grates, and open sewage pits, a vertigo-inducing drop plunges into the darkness of the Gutter where the dredges of Grandville lurk. Unable to effectively control the creatures hidden here, Recluse has an Arachnos Flier patrol the area, its only goal to annihilate all living things in its path.

[/ QUOTE ]

My money is on flyers as wandering damage. Watch out! Death from above!
