There are elevators in the arachnos bases too like on mercy, the flat area is easy but ive gotten stuck in mercy.

WTH? you have to join their site just to watch the video?!? As if I don't have enough junk mail already!

If anyone finds a mirror site that doesn't require that garbage, please post a linky.

You guys have to stop using Gamespot to disseminate content. I can't get this to work, and the bastards don't have a direct download link for anyone who isn't a member of their stupid site.

No the video's free.

I can't watch it though due to my RAM, any other interesting things besides MM Thugs and the zones? How about the DM/DA Stalker?

What the heck is War Witch doing alive, fighting in Grandville?

Psh I'm not surprised.. she could be in every other zone for all we know.. she's just.. witchy.. like that..

I've been trying to spot the Brute with the electrical melee.

Fun video and read, regardless.

[/ QUOTE ]

On first watch, I was thinking it was the guy using the red electric type powers that various Arachnos do. Watching it again though, one of them uses a range attack with it, so I'm inclined to think that's a Patron Power.

57 seconds in it looks like a character does a knockout blow (the uppercut motion, right?) but his fists have some kind of light around them... electrical charge perhaps?

Hmm, so Thugs are something like a cross between a biker gang and old west outlaws? I can dig. Still, I wonder what they'll do to explain how a bunch of thugs could possibly be as effective as a group of trained mercenaries?

Loving the previews of Grandville. I really cannot wait to get into this zone. I'm almost afraid I'll miss half of the zone just flying up and down. I wonder if they'll put in some aerial foes, since vertical movement will be in such common use?

Awesome stuff. Thanks for the update.

Is the glowing fists character energy melee or could it be electrical melee?

That's just the standard yellow glow that's always been on Super Strength attacks. Those red electrical attacks looked damn cool though!

I got a kick out of this phrase:

Hee.

It's a subtle sort of mayhem, is what he's about.

How can the Warriors be as powerful as some of the Council? How can the Hellions duke it out against the Circle of Thorns?
Answer? They're really, really trained-damn-well thugs.

The Web was also Recluse's Paragon City crime syndicate from The Web of Arachnos.

I get the feeling my mastermind will hate Grandville. Vertical zones + pets = pets falling to their doom because of wonky pathing AI.

Answer: They're really cool. Way cool. That's why. Being cool allows you to increase your threat rating by direct proportion to how cool you are.

Batman is infinitely cool.

I second (or third or whatever) the suggestion to not use Gamespot to disseminate preview videos. I know there are business-y reasons for doing this, but I've tried this video on several different browsers and versions and can't get both the audio and video to play at the same time (it's either or, and the video crashes Firefox).
Plus, I just plain don't like Gamespot. It rubs me the wrong way.

As to the actual content update we're getting:
Whee! I can finally make a Bizarro version of my main and do PvP missions with my 35+ heroes.
Next up: trenchcoats and dual pistols for players, storm & ranged elec. for corruptors, daggers for stalkers, energy armor and all that for tanks/scrappers, and cold fusion for everybody.

Where's the Carnival MM set States mentioned once? Evil clowns FTW! The summoning animation for the clowns (States mentioned the minions as being clowns, strongmen, and acrobat) could be a little clown car that races up to you then all the clowns pile out.

The Thug set looks like it breaks down to:

1st Tier: Possibly gun blappers. Hellion looking. Random colored pants and vests over an Anarchy T-shirt. Third one has a cross chest strap indicating a specialist role (like the medic in the merc set). They wear bandana masks, sunglasses, and black do-rag skull cap.

2nd Tier: Dual-gunslinging blasters. The 'Black Bart' look. Trenchcoat, utility belt, tie with shirt, bandana masks and sunglasses (dark colors - red, black, dark brown). No hat.

3rd Tier: Huge-build (presumed tanker). Tortoise shell motorcycle helmet, wrapped chain. Shown using a thunderclap power.

If I'm guessing correctly which one is the MM, he's carrying a BA handgun. The B stands for Big.
