Once subscribed you and a friend can take advantage of the Leveling Pact system. This is where each of you can earn xp for the other even when they're offline.

NRG is shorthand for Energy powersets - melee, aura, blast, manipulation.
Allow me to extend a nod in welcoming you to the game and the forums.
Cheers,

Quote:Nosferatu immediately comes to mind.Is there anyone else out there I should be a little more trepidacious about fighting?
If you can joust (cue an attack, jump in, then immdiately jump away in order to avoid much time spent in melee range) these two AV's you'll tend to fair better. Try to stay out of line of sight with them too when jousting if possible as some of their powers (eg. at least 1 of their heals need a target with a toHit roll) can draw out the fight.
Keep an eye on your defenses and buffed as much as possible. Both AV's also have Dark powers so they can debuff your toHit so some yellow Insp's may be in order.
Both can be very tough if you're solo, depending upon powersets and difficulty. Some temp powers can be useful. -
Welcome to Paragon and the Champion server, Zeph and MoonlitRose!
Send me a tell anytime to @Celestial Lad. I hope to team with you both.
Cheers. -
Silly of me not to check this before, but I'm guessing this has something to do with it:
http://www.cityofheroes.com/news/ser...er_status.html
Edit: For those of you who got here late, the status lists all servers as either down or unknown. -
I just had this error this morning. I'm not sure if the login servers are down as I've haven't saw posts about it yet.
Using the support tool, one part of the output file is relevant in the section for:
Updaters & Login Port Tests.

Thanks a lot, Beefcake and Blondeshell. Your efforts are apprectiated.

Meleers should kite DW. If they do that she doesn't last long.
Tanks should taunt from a distance, ideally if on a team get the group immobolized by a troller, and kite as well during Gaussian's arc.
Those are just 2 simple tactics that are not boring nor not fulfilling a role.
There is no arc that can't be solo'd save for multiple glowie missions and certain tf's.
Meleers don't have to stand in one spot mashing buttons for every single encounter in the game. Variance is a good thing. -
Cosmic Avengers was formed July 4,2004 by me on Champion.
We're still active and always looking for more. -
Gratz on the 5 year ding, HoJ!
Sounds like an incredible celebration, UC.
Cheers, all! -
Sounds fantastic, MadamM! I'm looking forward to this.

Good luck, Squid. I hope you make it back quickly.

Had a great time teaming with you, Postagulous, last night on the lowbie Tanker team.
I'll see what I can do about making the other rounds this month. -
Quote:It was good teaming with you, as always Umann, as well as a few people I hadn't had the opportunity to previously.Fun TT as always. Got a full 8 tank Manticore team off and running, and we had another 7 tank team of mostly teens and 20s who ran through the Midnight Club arc. Much smiting, much dinging, and one epic teamwipe (that one was my fault... lol). A relatively small turnout overall, but still a very good time.
Tanktastically terrific. -
Dare I say the godfather of Champion drama?
Nice to hear from you, er him. -
That's a neat idea. Off the top of my head this is how I think it should work:
/bind w "+turnleft$$powexec_name Practiced Brawler"
/bind e "+turnright$$powexec_name Hasten" -

I'll premise with this is a good thing. Below I'll try to touch on a few things without reiterating what Mebs said.
If you have not pvp'd very often or never at all, or are even a little curious about it I would suggest participating in a few of these matches. I say a few because one match will not be a fair representation of what pvp has to offer, nor will it be enough for you to understand how it can be fun for you.
While it is able to join an arena match via Menu->Arena, it is recommended to meet upstairs on the hero-side of Pocket D. It has it's own ramp going up from the ground floor. It is not where War Witch is exactly.
I recommend going there so people can ask any questions they may have where everybody is gathered. Ask questions if you have them as others may also.
Once you join a match there is a chat interface in that window. It is very poorly implemented, but it is used quite a bit. So pay attention to it, even though you will likely be scrolling around a lot due to the aforementioned design.
These events have all been casual and friendly. To keep it this way do your best not to get too upset and not type out in frustration. This tendancy seems to be what gives pvp a tarnished reputation.
These events use small inspirations only (tier 1). They can be bought from bartenders where the arena kiosks are in Pocket D. I highly recommend buying some of the temp powers available, especially Web Grenade and the Jaunt Initializer (self teleport).
In a team environment your build is not as important as the player behind it. This is very evident in cave maps, although they aren't chosen often.
Most times someone will nominate themselves or someone will pick another to be the designated targeter. This is accomplished with an easy bind, such as /bind v "g Attack $target". If your team does not have a designated targeter reqeust one or offer to be one yourself.
Since arena matches are won or lost based upon the number of kills a team has, squishies normally get targeted first and often. With practice you can become better at eluding and not falling as often. This also depends upon how well the team can mesh quickly.
All matches during these events are open to public viewing which means you can choose to watch the event as a hidden camera. This can even give the curious a look at what to expect.
Most of all have fun and participate once in a while if you have even a remote curiosity about pvping.
Cheers. -

I have to agree with Meowtch and Tank Washington here. The abruptness, sometimes bordering on rudeness, is not needed and, in my opinion, inappropriate at most times. This comment is not directed at any particular person.
To back this up, there are numerous people at countless times who ask what level a certain tf is. Nobody gets gruff about it and the answer is straight-forward. Why can't other answers be such? Telling someone to read the MotD after they've been on for hours isn't helping anyone.
As Tank Washington alluded to regarding the fact we frequently tell newcomers to request an invite to BMT and then the way certain things are being said is a double-edged sword. I realize this.
My only request is to put ourselves in other people's shoes before they open their mouths in different situations, especially if the reply is inclined to be rude and condescending. There can be, and in fact are, shades of grey here.
