While widows are pretty fun at low levels, Wolf Spiders are a nightmare. It is an absolute miserable grind to get to 24 so you can drop the wolf set like a bad habit. It takes all 3 ranaged attacks plus pummel to take out an even con minion.....wtf? Heavy Burst has been completely castrated. Our first power in the secondary which we are forced to take is a pointless 3% resistance to Sm/Le, while widows is a nice 7.5% defense to melee.....something worth taking.
[/ QUOTE ]
I would have to respectfully disagree. Wolf Spiders are much fun for me. Especially when teamed with a full VEAT squad (hardly ever NOT the case), it's a hell of a good time. Multiple venom grenades + multiple heavy bursts = joygasm. That's not to mention that their maneuvers' defensive value is twice as high as that of a widow, so when stacked it makes for huge team buffs. -

Very nice list. You mention that Crab Spiders cannot use capes with their backpacks. Yet, in recent videos, I have seen some Crab Spiders with capes and I have to say... Sexy.
[/ QUOTE ]
I believe you are mistaken. Crab spiders can under no circumstance wear a cape. Perhaps what you were seeing is Bane Spiders with the bladed Crab spider style gloves wearing their capes. The Backpack is the one and only back option for Crabs. -

shrouded can't be a requirements, it's only being given currently from a bug in certain missions
bad luck and raider could be requirements though
raider took a while to geti hope that's not a requirement as well as gangbuster
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm leaning towards Raider being a requirement because for some reason I associate being in Sirens Call for 5 straight hours with pain...
Edit: Although come to think of it, it seems a might bit unreasonable to make that kind of badge a requirement as only hardcore pvpers would tend to have it. -
I would just like to add 3 new possible requirements for the High Pain Threshold Accolade. My first copy to test didnt recieve it but my second copy did. The badges I have earned since the first copy was made are: Bad Luck, Raider, and Shrouded.

btw for gangbuster it's just the marcone capos in port that count towards it, i got it yesterday on a character (took a while!)
[/ QUOTE ]
I actually recieved mine from hunting Marcone Consigs in St. Martial, so its not just the PO ones that count. -

Now that I'm a "pistol-packing momma", I really need to accessorize my costume with a set of holsters. I could use either belt or shoulder holsters (or ideally, a choice between both). I realize it's probably way too late for new art work in Issue 7, but could we add holsters to the list for a future release?

Personally I think its a bit rediculous to be pulling out 50 cal. sized handguns from what appear be secret compartments in my torso? -

Edit: Found the video still picture. This is what I expected the Thugs to look like. And I don't care if they couldn't keep the trenchcoats at least these guys have some meat on their bones and visual flavor.

That IS how they look once they get the second upgrade.
[/ QUOTE ]
You have seen this on test? No offense but there are so many posts with people saying this only for them to say its speculation or wishful thinking when pressed. Do you have screens from test with the upgrade? Maybe just links to some or a thread with someone who is high enough to say for sure?
I really, really hope you are right but until I see some current test screens I have to agree with Raindog that it seems way to radical a costume change for an upgrade power based on what the second upgrade does for the current crop MMs on live. Again I hope I am wrong.

I don't personally have my thug mm up to that lvl yet but I know of some who do. I don't have any screens of them right now, but I'll go ahead and take some when i get back on test this weekend (stuck at school for finals yuck) unless someone else beats me to it.

So, who thinks the Arachnos Flier could be the CoV version of Hammi?
[/ QUOTE ]
nope
from the sound of rumors i hear, we may be fighting the Freedom Phalanx...
[/ QUOTE ]
Don't we already fight them? Or are you suggesting 'all at once?' That would ROCK!
[/ QUOTE ]
Longbow is a branch of Freedom Corps, a group that employs non-superpowered individuals to help aid the Heroes. If you read the description of longbow wardens they are given their powers through deliberate mutation. Freedom Phalanx on the other hand is a famous Super Group comprised of actual Heroes that we all know and love(hate?). So going up against them would, in essence, be like fighting numerous Hero class Mobs at once. I think that would be sweet. -
Hmm, I don't know...Wolf Spider Huntsmen are pretty tough, perhaps not quite so powerful as Wardens, but if you were to speculate that they would use tactics suitable to their assiociations I think Arachnos would employ every underhanded dirty trick in the book to win. Arachnos FTW!
-
I really don't find it to be much of an issue at all. Haven't encountered a single player who used it more than once or twice for the sole purpose of a joke. Now drunk typing is another story altogether, i've seen my fair share of that. Pinnacle FTW!

Notice he said heroes, the ones who can't get to St. Marial
[/ QUOTE ]
My bad. Sometimes I just forget that people still play heroes, heh. And of course I can't be bothered to read completely through a long post; my time is much too valuable. -

Heroes can only get the Serpent Red Ink Man gladiator (150 Blue Ink Men according to Vidiotmaps) in Siren's Call.
[/ QUOTE ]
Are you sure about this? I've seen quite a few Blue Ink Men in St. Martial. -

The more I think about this, the more it seems like it could be a good thing. To my mind, outlvling some arcs can increase the replayability of the game. If you go through and get to the max lvl while completeing every arc theres not much of an incentive to create a new toon just to do the same thing all over again. By missing some arcs the first few times around when you go back with a new toon you can make sure you pick up the arcs you missed, thus creating a somewhat new experience. So maybe there is a silver lining after all.

Say that to the Plans we have for our "Super Computer" .. They more content I can Immerse in 1 Hero/villain the more I can do to support the SG/VG base.
Do you want to be that 4 star general that has been only assigned to the Pentagon or the General that has seen Veitnam,Korea,Panama,Gulf War 1, Gulf War 2, etc.
My toons like to have a wide spectrum of content. All this outleveling stuff AT NORMAL PLAY is going to premote power leveling.

"You will miss the game content, wait... no you wont, OK!" -Arch villain
on CoH I was careful how i leveled and my main has All Arcs and content but Tina Macintire since she isn't attached to any teir. . .
[/ QUOTE ]
Once again, I am NOT saying that it isn't a problem, I would dearly love to go back and complete the 3 arcs I missed already. I am just trying not to let it ruin the experience is all, especially since at the moment there is precious little we can do to change the situation. I suppose that the best we can hope for is that they will eventually enable us to go back to old Arcs like in CoH. -
[ QUOTE ]
CoVs take on contacts is a little bit different than CoHs. It can be easy to miss a contact and almost all of them have storyarcs.
This is a work in progress and I wil try to keep it updated. Feel free to note any corrections that need to be made or let me know what additions I should make. (post or PM)
Since something like this is a little hard to do with text, I made a graphic, so without further ado - TreKains COV Contact Guide

Thank you very much for that, it'll be very helpful. Too bad I already missed a couple arcs with my first toon.

Bleah. That is the Statesman Theory, yes.
In reality, I have one character that I do my best to see all content with...and I also have 50+ alts that I play regularly. My altitis has nothing to do with trying to see content that I missed the first time though...I just *like playing lots of different characters*.
Some people are completists. That's how they have fun. And yet again someone is telling those people they're not having the right kind of fun. *sigh*

My MM is lvl 13 right now and I'm doing the radio arc. The only contacts I've had are the first two in Mercy Island, The Ear, and the Radio. I got refered to Bocor by the Ear but when I got to him I must have outlvled the arc cuz he just refered me straight to the Radio. My question is this: how many arcs did I miss?

Very clear and informative. Although this is my first post I have been a lurker for many months, and this is one of the best guides I've encountered. The only thing I would like to see added is an example of your own build just so we can all see how this wisdom looks when put together.
Five stars for you!
