Base Building/Base Raiding/Prestige Quick-FAQ
[ QUOTE ]
It was stated that rent doesn't start getting added to your base until you have over 1,000,000 prestige (at which point it's 1%). At something like 16,000,000, it goes up to 2%.
[/ QUOTE ]
I may have misinterpreted it (the post I got the numbers from, of course, gone in beta board purge). I do not recall a floor to rent mentioned - ie, a level above 0 Prestige at which you are not charged rent. The only cap was to maximum rent level - 3.5%.

Also, I remember reading that "Instant Raids" would be disconneced for live. Not sure if that's the current plan, but I don't think they'll be up since it's a great way to scout someone you want to take an IoP from.
[/ QUOTE ]
I do not recall having seen a statement to that effect anywhere on the beta boards, and I read the dev digest exhaustively. Unless it was in the closing hours of beta and I missed it. It's possible I missed it. I can't see why they would turn this off though; it's the only way for two SGs to intentionally PvP against each other specifically. Not every PvP'er is going to want to flag themselves to be attacked by any group on their server.

Q3: How do I earn Prestige?
A3: You earn Prestige by playing in Supergroup Mode. You can turn Supergroup Mode on by opening the 'SG' tab and clicking 'Enter Supergroup Mode'. At low levels, you earn Prestige and Influence in equal amounts. However, the closer you get to level 35, the less influence you earn, until after level 35, you earn NO influence for playing in Supergroup mode. The amount of Prestige earned per enemy/per mission does not increase by level like influence does.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think there's a mistake here. During the Siren's Call beta event, the Arbiter was saying that after level 25 is when we no longer recieve influence/infamy while in SG mode.

Actual experience in play indicated it was level 35. This may or may not be a bug; it was never specifically addressed by any developer comments that I saw.

Excellent FAQ! Thanks Egos

New SGs are still granted the 36,000,000 prestige. I've tried on 2 seperate characters, with the last one just being a few minutes ago and both SGs started with 36,020,000 prestige.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is a BUG.
New Supergroups are only supposed to get the 20,000 Prestige for having 1 member.
Supergroups who took advantage of the bug (either on purpose or accidentally) will have the 36,000,000 Prestige removed. You can't spend any of it until CoV goes live anyway.

Do they mean you stop receiving infamy or you get less in SG mode, as you get higher in level ?

Q4: Do I start with any Prestige?
A4: All supergroups get a "kicker" of 20,000 Prestige per member up to 15, for a total of 300,000 possible "free" Prestige. If you have gotten this free Prestige and your supergroup membership drops BELOW 15, you will lose 20,000 Prestige for each member that departs. If your membership increases again, you regain the 20,000.
[/ QUOTE ]
Apparently there is a bug that makes this not happen. I have 4 SG afilliates and none of the mstarted with any prestige, while a friend's SG had 300K. I have bugged it several times, nor am I the only one this is happening to.

It means you earn less Inf in SG mode. (And none after the cut-off point.) Also, it seems you do earn slightly more Prestige as the percentage of Inf earned decreases.
This is only in SG mode though; out of it the rewards should be the same as you've always gotten.

do bases still exist? i'm just surfing through here and this is the first i've heard of them, i have my own SG, but most, if not all, of my team have been on it littler than i have, newbies to be specific....
And when i go to the guy i got my sg from he's just "but your already in one!"
do they not exist, or do i have to be a certain lvl?

Yes, there is a bug. It'll automatically fix itself and grant you the kicker in the next patch.
Edit: And by next patch I apparently mean the patch after the next patch.
are bases available in test yet? How do I get one to play around with?

wait... so you loose out if your sg has more than 15 ppl? mine has 75! >.< it would be better to just lessen the amount you get after the first 15 or something. we already feel that the devs are against big sgs, but really, you don't have to poor salt onto our wounds

What about the fact that some SGs don't seem to have received the Prestige award per member up to 15? Example, my SG, "Avatars of Justice", on the Justice server did not receive this bonus.

You missed the boat on that. Bases are part of CoV. They were available to test in the CoV beta. It's over now. They'll be online Saturday though (if you pre-ordered CoV that is).

And? You still get the 300K to start with. And if you have 75 members, and if most of them are reasonably active, you're going to have a vastly easier time gaining prestige to begin with than some SG that only has 15 regular players.
To attach some actual numbers to this...at 22, in beta, running a mission with three people on heroic/villainous garnered around 900-1000 prestige per person. At 50, tonight, I got over 1350 running one mission solo on rugged. Assuming 1000 prestige per person per mission, on average, and that each member of your SG runs 4 missions per week, on average, you will match that kickstart in one week's time.
Now, it's true that the best and/or largest of the base stuff is mighty (one might say larcenously) pricey. But honestly, 300K a week doesn't sound too shabby to me.
If, on average, half of those 75 people log on and run 2 missions a day, you're looking at 525K per week.
And if you normally form large teams, or do task forces or trials regularly, well, you're even better off.
You have done a excellent job with your post Ego_Shadow. I hope you don't mind i posted your post on my SG forums. I made sure you got the credit.
WELL DONE!!
<.< I should explain, I got a rather harsh letter from positron back in beta about this and how he was looking for a fair way to distibute prestige to sgs based on number and such. the idea I had tried to present was mostly giving a small amount to ppl in sgs for being i the sg over time (since thats a number tracked). the what was originally presented to us was that they where awarding based on merit and since we'd been playing for a long time with no way of making prestige.
o.o he was quite gruff over it and didn't think my idea was fair since there were supposdly a number of sgs that disbanded and reformed over their color scheme in sgmode and he didn't think it was fair to them since they did that without thinking. In the end, it doesn't matter a bit. they just did a blanket pres dump for small sgs.
I realise that I come off angry and irrational... there are alot of sg bugs right now that seem to be ignored.. o.o I'm afraid for my sg members, often it seems that things are planned for only small sgs and not the large ones. the 30,000 we will hopefully eventually get will allow for a couple of rooms, we'll just hope that there won't be to many ppl on at once crowding in to see them.

Same bug here. Logged into both of my Supergroups to check it out. Both with plenty of members (we had to split one of them because there was no more room to add members), and neither one had received any kind of "kickstart". I think we were at 5000 prestige when I logged off.

I didn't think we'd see our SG's prestige numbers until launch. Are you guys sure?
