"The Surviving Eight"
[ QUOTE ]
K'Varr, T'Keron and Valmaz were all drawn through a dimensional rip caused by the binding ceremony onto Primal Earth, our Earth. T'Keron and the Demon Lord were bound together by the potent mystic forces.
The ways of our world are strange to K'Varr but Numina is assisting him in becoming acclimated and beginning his search for the unholy fusion of T'Keron and Valmaz.

Future AV/villian group anyone?
I'm pretty sure that incarnate would be natural, as there's talk of Statesman "unlocking his true potential" or some sort of "mind over matter" type of thing going on there. He definitely wouldn't be technology, science, or mutant, so the only other 'plausible' origin would be magic. That doesn't seem logical, as magic has a different flavor in CoH. Btw, what origin would you classify Rularuu as? Natural? Thanks.
[ QUOTE ]
Well, the muck started well before Byrne, with Donna Troy having multiple irreconcilable origins. "Who is Wonder Girl?" was almost an annual [[New] Teen] Titans storyline.
[/ QUOTE ]
And it's coming back again, sort of, this summer has yet another Donna Troy story. As much as I like the character, she's now so officially fouled up they might as well just drop her altogether. At this point her origin is more messed up than Wolverine's and that takes doing.
You all DO realize that Lord Recluse is an Incarnate as well, right?
I'd like to know more about Blue Steel. After all, it's the only trainer we have no info about.
Who is he?
I thought Blue Steel is the head of Paragon City Police atm. I don't think he's "super" at all; just a very, very good cop
Greetings,
I wanted to take the chance to correct a few things that have changed since this article came out over a year ago. As the game grows I will continue to try and clarify things that have been contradictory or confusing.

Manticore
Zone: Brickstown

The sole beneficiary of a huge trust fund, Manticore received training in all manner of mental and physical pursuits, but excelled in archery. When he turned 18, Miss Bowman revealed to him his true heritage. Manticore's father had once been a costumed vigilante in England, until he and his wife died at the hands of a German villain called Doppelganger. Deeply affected by the story, Manticore took up his father's mantle and vowed to bring the 5th Column down.
[/ QUOTE ]
Due to the upcoming Power Sets Manticore is actually a Trick Arrow, Archery Defender. Also, his arch-enemy is called Protean, not Doppleganger.

She has taken up the mantle to fight for freedom, in this specific case to free Paragon City from its infestation of villains. She has heightened strength and endurance as well as the power of the Liberty Belt, which was passed on to her by her grandmother.
Early in her career Ms. Liberty worked extensively with Statesman, but recently seems to be spending more time working on making certain that new heroes in Paragon City have the information they need, as well as working on the Freedom Corps. It is clear that she is determined to do her energetic best to make the Freedom Corps the premiere hero assistance group in Paragon City someday.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ms. Liberty is the granddaughter of Maiden Justice and the daughter of Miss Liberty. Her first name is Megan, not Jessica. More information about her connection to Statesman will also be found in The Web of Arachnos.

Archery for a Defender? I thought it was going to be a Blaster powerset.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought for sure SONIC was going to be the Defender Set and Archery was going to BLASTERS. Whoo-boy, this is big news. I'm definitely rolling me an Archery/Archery Defender, baby!
you thought wrong!
sounds interesting though
maybe it isnt one of those exclusive things.....
as for the new power sets.... a red name has neither confirmed or denied that list.
pattern so far is most blaster primarys are defender secondaries... you may yet get your wish

At Wizard World last year, Statesman said that it would probably be both a defender secondary and a blaster primary.
Still, the fact that they A) separated out trick arrows from archery and B) put the trick arrows in defender surprised the hell out of me. That gives some nice options for Natural and Tech bowmen, tho. You can go Archery/Devices or Trick Arrow/Archery. Decisions, decisions...
[ QUOTE ]
I see what you're talking about, but the Incarnates are a new epic archetype. That means they get an origin built right in.
[/ QUOTE ]
Right. Peacebringers are Natural and War Shades are Science.
[ QUOTE ]
You all DO realize that Lord Recluse is an Incarnate as well, right?
[/ QUOTE ]
I said that already. I think most people have realized this.

That sounded like a confirmation to me...closer than anything we usually get from Statesman, at least....
I'll be disappointed if we can't make a Bow blaster (and I'm a little iffy on whether there are enough "Trick Arrow" ideas to make a full Defender primary without becoming hokey), but if it means Sonics go to Blasters...

What a tease! Need more info.... *drool*
I'm surprised to see the split between "Trick Arrows" and Archery, but it makes for some really interesting combos with Archery its own Independent secondary.
Dark/Archery, Storm Archery, Trick Arrow/Power Blast...
I agree, Archery can still be both a Blaster Primary and Defender Secondary. I don't think "trick arrows" would be part of a Ranged Power Set, because usually there is only one control power, at most (in Ice and Electricity) and the rest are all attacks. So maybe Archery will get a Net Arrow, and the rest will be all damage types, like fire, ice, explosive, and so on. The "trick arrows" would be like gasses and smoke clouds. Or even disarming shots.

More likely knockback.
Is there any way to see the bio information of the trainers in game? I know you can click on "About this contact" for the TF heroes, but the trainers don't give you that option, and you can't right click them and select "Info" either.
I had always assumed their sets were the same one used by their Praetorian counterparts.
Bobcat (evil Mynx), for example, is a claws/invul scrapper.
Black Swan (evil Swan) is a DM/DA scrapper.

Statesman is an Incarnate, just like Lord Recluse. Statesman himself has said this. What an "Incarnate" is, is up to anyones guess.
[/ QUOTE ]
yeah, but that's a new AT, isn't it? if Statesman had said there would be a new origin coming out, and it would be Incarnate, it would mean that.
but i think with magic, natural, technology, science, and mutation, they pretty much have their bases covered, origin-wise, unless you're speaking of dual-origin heroes
i.e. someone could say the bulk of Wolverine (C) is dual, since he has good healing, but his bones are nearly unbreakable now, due to the adamantium, making him mutant/technology
