"The Surviving Eight"
[ QUOTE ]
Who exactly ARE the surviving eight, and why are they CALLED the surviving eight?
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, after 45 days in the house, the other house guests vote to evict one of the other's, assuming that they don't use the Golden Power of Veto.
I believe the 8 are now: Beau, Ivette, April, Maggie, James, Howie, Janelle and Rachel.
[ QUOTE ]
That or white kryptonite.
[/ QUOTE ] White? I've heard of Green, the most common that can kill Superman and Red... Well red changes depending on what vesion you're watching. In the movie red split him in 2, one being an evil superman and the other being a powerless human Clark Kent. In the new series it turns him evil and he calls himself Cal.
Anyway, Mrs. Liberty may have her own SG but she is still considered Statesman's SK so she and the others are still part of his SG by association.
BTW why'd this topic finnally get resurected, no one's really posted in here for months I was about ready to take this off my fav. list till yesterday.
Hmm.
I thought Ms. Liberty, the daughter of Miss Liberty and granddaughter of Maiden Justice, is the one who stands in front of City Hall in Atlas Park and leads the Vindicators (made up of each of the core Freedom Phalanx's sidekicks).
Isn't her mother the one who has taken up leadership of Freedom Corps (started by Statesman as an answer to the 'justice-for-hire' Hero Corps, I thought)?
Longbow, I think, is basically the military wing of Freedom Corps that is trying to make headway into the Rogue Islands.

That's correct; Ms. Liberty is the Atlas Park trainer, States' sidekick, and the leader of the Vindicators, and Longbow is indeed an organization, and not an SG per se. No idea about Liberty's mother/Miss Liberty heading Freedom Corps, though it would make an odd sort of sense.
I second the motion for an official CoH Signature Hero database/FAQ. I love knowing this kind of stuff.

Because someone posted a link to it elsewhere...
At any rate, the generational heroes get confusing.. Ms. Liberty and Miss Liberty, Hero 1 and Hero-1...
Mrs. Liberty is the only really confusing one.
Mrs. Liberty and Dominatrix are the same person but from different dimentions. The description on one says Miss. Liberty is her Mother and it says Grandmother on the other. I allways just thought that she came from a long line of Mrs./Miss./Ms. Libertys.
Maybe because there is no "Mrs. Liberty"?
This is what I know: Paragon City Earth has Ms. Liberty, the Atlas trainer and sidekick of Statesman. She's the daughter of Miss Liberty and granddaughter of Maiden Justice.
Praetorian Earth has Dominatrix; her in-game bio also says that she is the daughter of Miss Liberty, thereby making her the counterpart to our Ms. Liberty.
However, I have seen Rednames (possibly even in this thread) say that Dominatrix is the daughter of Ms. Liberty, whom Dominatrix killed; thus in this version, Dominatrix isn't an exact alternate version of Ms. Liberty.
Oy.

[/ QUOTE ] Ms. Liberty as it says on CoH.Warcry.com Jessica is the granddaughter of the original Miss Liberty from the Golden Age. She has taken up the mantle to fight for freedom, in this specific case to free Paragon City from its infestation of villains. She has heightened strength and endurance as well as the power of the Liberty Belt, which was passed on to her by her grandmother.
Early in her career Ms. Liberty worked extensively with Statesman, but recently seems to be spending more time working on making certain that new heroes in Paragon City have the information they need, as well as working on the Freedom Corps. It is clear that she is determined to do her energetic best to make the Freedom Corps the premiere hero assistance group in Paragon City someday.
And Dominatrix as is from the same site Being the daughter of a famous and universally loved super heroine never sat well with Dominatrix. She rebelled from a very young age and when she hit puberty and her powers kicked in she decided enough was enough. After killing her mother, the infamous Miss Liberty, she started making a name for herself. She caught Tyrants attention and has been serving him loyally, in all capacities, ever since.
I've never seen anything that talks about anyone named Maiden Justice. Manticore allso never corrected the decriptions on the web site all he said is her first name isn't Jessica.
From Manticore:
[ QUOTE ]
Maiden Justice was the mother of Miss Liberty and the grandmother of Ms. Liberty.
[/ QUOTE ]
I surrived 7 when 7 ate 9.
I thought the Surviving eight where the eight members of the Freedom Phalanx that survived...
Obviously more heroes in general survived... after all since the invasion started (or ended) in 2002, and many of our heroes are 20+ it's safe to assume that there where a lot of surviving heroes...

Think of them as sort of being the A-listers. Lots of other heroes survived, but these eight are the most famous.

[/ QUOTE ] Can we please have the descriptions I posted abouve corrected please. We can tell from that post that Ms. Liberty Is certainly not the Granddaughter of Miss. Liberty.
I have a wild thought here.
What if Incarnates are NOT a new Epic AT but rather what our level 50 characters can become?
Think about it. Positron said in an interview here (under the question "What do you mean by fat loot?")
[ QUOTE ]
In the next update, Issue 8, we will have a new system that gives us the ability to make your level 50 characters better. That means weve abandoned the idea of raising the level cap to 60 for now and instead will give you the option to make your level 50s better, then better again and then even better. That process will last a lot longer than additional 10 levels, which just create a new problem: What to do after hitting level 60?
[/ QUOTE ]
We all know that Statesman is an Incarnate Tanker and Lord Recluse is an Incarnate Mastermind. Well, unless they are going to introduce 10 new AT's to the game, my idea of our level 50's BECOMING Incarnates themselves, seems to make at least a little bit of sense.
Sort of.
To me anyway.
(Wow, just realized this was a long dead thread. Been reading and following so many links I lost track. Sorry for raising the dead.)
Losing faith in humanity, one person at a time.

[/ QUOTE ]
I believe there was an old interview with Statesman where he did say they hadn't decided if Incarnates were a new AT or an progression for higher level character (It was old, they may have made up their minds). Personally I am leaning toward the latter, but I don't think there has been any offical word on what exactly Incarnates are... yet...
Ms. Liberty is the granddaughter of Maiden Justice and the daughter of Miss Liberty. Her first name is Megan, not Jessica. More information about her connection to Statesman will also be found in The Web of Arachnos
Of course, according to the novel Freedom Phalanx Ms. Liberty's name is, indeed, Jessica; and she is Statesman's granddaughter. Her mother, the original Miss Liberty, is Alexis, daughter of Statesman and Maiden Justice.

[/ QUOTE ] Posi stated on w00t radio that Incarnates will be the next New epic AT.
And we rezzed this thread because....?
Yeesh. I ask a question 2 years ago and we're still posting in it...

And who do you think is correct? Manticore, the man in charge of CoH story continuity, or an author who's book has already been ridiculed and criticized by every CoH story lover on the boards, hmmm?

Yeah, how many months after I made that statement?
Gesh, you guys aren't going to make me thread kill this thread again are you?
Go away... I'm killing this thread.

As for the Woodsman...wasn't he Numina's mentor in life, before he died and Numina moved up to the Phalanx and became Infernal's mentor? Or am I dreaming that?
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmmm... I don't think so... Woodsman just cared for threats to nature (Aquaman style!), and Numina was a member of the Midnight Squad. As far as I can tell, Scout is the only sidekick that Woodsman is ever mentioned as having...
