Oh sweet nostalgia!

I also remember Naginata, and how he got banned when they implemented the "You must have an active account" thing.
[/ QUOTE ]
Do you remember how he would debate people about different powers and say he tested the power and would post totally bogus numbers?
Edit:
Oh and I remember when a bunch of people in my sg discovered you could get tons of xp by sniping mobs in bricks from the tram and letting the drones kill them.

the power sets before arch-types is something even I wouldnt know. thats something only the dev's and internal alpha testers could answer.
the powers in the blaster melee set were the exact same ones in the tanker secondary set (minus mace, axe, and super strength)
[/ QUOTE ]
Ah, what about electrical manipulation? Was that added like Devices? Because I don't see tankers having Electric Melee as an option (Kinda sad, Really, Electric Melee might be pretty cool!)

Does anyone else remember when certain groups of Lost in TV
wouldn't fight back?
[/ QUOTE ]
Sure - the ones that were fighting other groups, Sky Raiders I think. They would stand there cheering while you beat them down!
I remember the Fame concept, too, and wondering if I could play the game consistently enough to get a statue of my hero somewhere in Paragon City.
A grav controller back in March? If it was early March, that had to be Windy, my Grav/Storm, blowing and lifting a bunch of greys in King's Row.
Also, I can remember getting killed at LEAST once in every single room of every single normal mission map. I just wish there was a badge for getting locked, at one time or another, in every single CoT and 5th/Council prison cell.

I remember when the Dev Digest was first implemented and the speed at which the Devs posted.

I remember when the Devs thread was created by a player created process rather than by Cryptic. Who was it that did the original? Can anyone remember?
[/ QUOTE ]
SabreCat. Good old SabreCat. Where are you now?

Right here! And it was the DevTracker Thread and I had to keep my software running 24/7 or Devs would send me hate email!
I remember basically everything. And I'm not even kidding. I've been here so long I can hardly remember NOT being here. In fact, I'm totally sure I've forgotten more then most people playing this game right now even know.
Things I haven't noticed in the thread yet:
I remember...
when the game didn't have archtypes.
when we could only play the game three nights a week 'cause that was the only time the servers were open.
the xmas gift from the Devs when they turned the servers on 24/7 for a week.
early beta group photos at 'the big coin".
when travel powers were all available at level 10.
the bug that made fires and energy blasts look like crumpled newspapers.
getting flight 2 hours before the first beta character wipe
pohsyb sidekicking me and taking me to the Ziggurat for the first time.
'Bumped characters' used for testing higher level content.
flying through Kings Row using Recall Friend to help lowbies with no travel powers find the 4 or 5 CoT Spawn sites.
no Galaxy City.
no numbered zones.
the phone call I got asking me to turn off the DevTracker because the NCSoft IT guys had implemented the Dev Digest.
walking up to the old Cryptic offices (both of them) and feeling like a stalker.
how the first question every newbie would ask on the original forums was "will there be capes?"
the first video we were shown when they added bump mapping to the graphics engine (or turned it on or whatever they did)
watching that female hero do a forward flip into the air before flying in one of the first vids released
MacAllen's amazing thread on the original forums containing ideas for MMOs. Some of the most amazing things I've ever heard of where in that thread.
etc, etc, etc.
As the Vorlon would say, I have always been here.
*resumes lurking*
Had to delurk again (twice in the same thread!?) just to say these were really great ones!

I remember when this thread was still active.
Good to see ya Saber, I lived by your Dev Tracker back then
Anyways I'll try to bring life back to this thread with two
I remember when pets could zone with you and they would attack there owner once in the mission.
I remember Fold Space, I actually liked this power, (group recall friend fyi)
I remember getting a sprained ankle thanks to Storm Kick v1.
I remember when heroes had to re-sheath/holster their weapons to punch someone.
I remember all those great "black and orange" threads. Even the killed-before-its-time Newb Wars
I remember blue/white ice blaster and gold/black rad blaster.
I remember all our official information about powers coming from previews.
I remember the AT walkthroughs being our first real glimpse at character creation.
I remember when the level cap was 40.
I remember being the only person in Atlas Park - or any of the other zones for that matter. Just me and the mobs. So when I saw players actually log on during the first days of beta it was...the...coolest...thing...ever.
Reading these posts. Great fun.

I can remember playing UT2004. Why do I mention this you ask?
Because I have not played a single other game since I got my Beta invite.
I still think about other games occasionally, but I think I would rather leave my wife than leave CoH.
I remember posting my first build in the scrapper forum. The first comment I got was, "Why are you taking regen? If you want to use that many slots for defense, just be Invuln."
Level 50 is a journey, not a destination.

I remember when losing a temp power made all of your auto powers turn off.
I remember when everyone used HeroMachine to design their characters before open beta started. In the end, none of the characters I created pre-beta got passed level 11.

I dug up some CoH nostalgia here. An old CoH FAQ
I remember looking up in the sky and seeing a giant UFO hovering over Atlas Park. Then I remember running around while looking up and running smack into a group of Rikti.
I remember the first time I visited Founder's Falls and I saw some Rikti, and I thought "OH CRAP" even though I knew they couldn't see me and I was safe. They were just that powerful to me.

I remember back in Beta when Regen was considered a worthless set.
[/ QUOTE ]
I remember starting the "Why Take Regeneration?" thread in beta.
Actually...I still have the 250+ posts in that thread saved on my computer.
I remember back in beta, exploting Super Speed's crazy DEF buff and herding purples as a lvl 14 Stone/Stone Tanker with a team that took forever killing them. Using the old Provoke that is like right now's tanker taunt with a quicker recharge.
Holy Jeebus, War Witch lives!
This space is intentionally left blank.
I recall beta testing Saga of Ryzome before hearing about CoH, it's open beta, and thinking "eh, why not, the beta is free even tho the game sounds silly."
I recall dropping any and all other MMOs after creating my first character.
I recall 4 slotting Ressurect but with only 1 recharge and 1 end redux... you can guess with what else: heals.
I recall creating a my first scrapper in Pre-Order and choosing Regen becuase it just made sense.
I recall deciding to play a Dark/Dark Defender because people said it was gimped and I didn't believe them. He is level 50 now.
I recall using Hero Planner to redesign my D3 for Dark Servant when Issue 2 hit Test.
I recall planning on taking Hover with my porting Empath so I could attack villains stuck in walls from 'outside' the map.
I recall creating a Gravity Controller just because of Fold Space and then realizing later they replaced it with Singularity.
I recall when people said Kheldians were gimped... ok, they still do... and then thinking them horridly wrong when I started playing one.
I recall when AP or GC used to have more than one instance on a regular basis at Midnight PST.
I recall most of my SG leaving for WoW, my trying it out for a couple of weeks, and my coming back here.
I recall when having to many friends on your friends list would crash you.

[/ QUOTE ]The sad thing is, there are times and zones that that happens to me these days. WoW seems to have smacked the userbase around something fierce.
I can remember entering Perez Park from Atlas the first time, and seeing group after group of heroes fighting their way though the park. Nowadays... I might see one other person if I'm there.

I can remember when they first announced the Archetype system!
aaaah... pre-beta...
I remember when we had Supergroup Vaults in City Hall.
