I remember running into Behemoths on the rooftops in King's Row.
[/ QUOTE ]
And in Perez Park. Yeah, I remember that too. Freaked me out the first time I saw a hoard of them running through the streets. Any idea why they were pushed back by 30 levels?
Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.

I remember the first time ambushes were installed- and my lines to the team "WHERED THEY COME FROM??? WWWWWWWWWWWWWW"
I remember the beggining of the Rikiti Invasion and people spreading rumors-
1. If you stay under the Rikiti Ship, it will blow you up, Independance Day style
2. The ship IS the Rikiti Invasion (since it took 30 minutes for some guys to finally show)
3. We are all gonna die (at least this one came true)
I remember the days where killing Hellions was cooler than killing SKULS
I remember being on Prime and being able to choose between 7 different APs

I remember cursing the lamentable power "Resist Disorientation" that was in the Regen beta set.
I remember when they were still working out the villian spawns, which resulted in fun times suchs as being unable to find hellions *anywhere* in Atlas, then suddenlly being surrounded by hundreds of them, or Perez becoming unnavigable because of the massive lag of there literally being multiple *thousands* of villians in it at one time.
A question for the really oldbies, if they'd indulge me: what were the power sets like before archetypes? and what powers were in the blaster melee sets?

I remember reading about some lucky testers who got to test out the new mobs before everyone else. ("ooooh.. whats a devouring earth? are they cool? what? plant men? LAME!" hehe)
this is a long one.. funny story though
I remember when the Rikti invaded. They had recently wiped the servers and most characters were not above the 20-24 level area. So in every zone the rikti were invading, and no one was in Talos to kill them (they were too high level). So all these heroes got together and invaded Talos island. hordes of level 16-22 heroes trying to take out level 30 Rikti. Then, of course, here comes a dev playing the part of the Rikti commander.. he starts talking smack in RP and some of us start the RP smack talking right back. Finally we find him and everyone RUNS to the hospital where he and some minions are killing everyone. We take out the minions.. and then here we are, about 30 heroes crowded around this commander, firing off everything we have.. no NONE of us are hitting. This fight took a good 45 minutes. We actually never really hit him.. he had to lower his health for us in increments to make it look like we were actually doing damage. Funniest part was when he would cast mass hypnosis, and hit EVERYONE. Seriously.. we would all be standing around "rofling" cause everyone would be sleeping. Finally.. he killed himself.. and of course someone just HAD to see if ressurect would work on him... it did. 45 minutes later.. after another round of mass hynosising and "whiffing" he killed himself again and left before he could be ressurected . I used to have a bunch of great screenshots of this but they got deleted when I wiped my computer a while back.. dang it.
I remember I came in here for a reason... now I can't remember what it was...

I remember his retraction as well.
I remember when the first 15 levels were difficult to get.
I remember my first vahz Ambush...
I remember when CoT only spawned at night, and only in three or four places in King's Row. Then being told they spawned on rooftops so slowly climbing up a stairwell to wait for nightfall.

When Oni then MacAllen got kicked from the boards
When the boards were black on white
When the board moderators weren't paid
When the first pre-first E3 Cryptic was at trailer came out (still have it!)
When they said you could call body shots
Finally, I remember Aura Manning's introductory post!
I remember when Lady Liberty (Or miss Liberty, don't remember 100%) started accusing people on the Beta Forums about her name being stolen back during the whole name reservation debacle.
I remember people also screwing over other people during the name reservation process, by trying to reserve multiple names.
I remember Drayvis, and how he was a bigger Jerk then I am. (If you can believe that).
I remember when Marvel wasn't trying to sue Cryptic.

Anyone remember the Rifle Set actually being a set of guns?
Haha, I remember when all my in-game friends at the time that I was bat-$^!& mental for nuking my main toon at 27th... I was (I like to think) a damned good heavily defensive tank that could tank +5s or more... without all my SOs yet in place.

And last but not least.....
PL'ing wasn't rampant.

here are some things from the Faq some oldbies might remember
[ QUOTE ]
Q.How can Super Intelligence be used? How would my character be different with it, than without it?
A.Super Intelligence will be very advantageous for skill-based heroes—those that use a lot of items. They will be able to figure out and use their skills more quickly and effectively.
[/ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Q.How many powers can I have?
A.The number of powers you can have depends on the origin you choose but the range is between 3 and 8.
[/ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Q.So what are skills then?
A.Skills are used to successfully attack and inflict damage with a power, or perform non-combat operations such as lock picking and bomb disarming.

I remember putting recharge speed into every attack, even those that very already very fast. I also remember the behemoths in kings row, thought that was a part of a story line, but maybe not. And those constantly exploding mages, aaah!! I remember not undestanding the differense between defense and resists
