  1. Well its been at least 2 weeks since the last nerf...no wonder States is getting touchy.

Well every game get its share of malcontents who want the game to fail because the dev's didn't do what they thought should be done. You get these big emotional fights on the forums and then people who don't get their way hanging around waiting to be proved right and hoping the game will fail.

    [/ QUOTE ]

OR maybe...and it might just be me...but maybe they are posting their issues here because the boards are the place for paying customers to post their issues. Id think people who complain want the game to succeed. Why else would they post?
  3. States, I think what alot of people are trying to say is this-

    ED blows.

    That is all.

After I5, some people were saying the same thing..."the game is a ghost town"...to which my reply was, "but we're gaining customers..." Naturally, my reply was dismissed.

And yet then good ole' SirBruce posted his MMP numbers - and City of Heroes was shown gaining subscribers. Odd, isn't it?

    ;-)

    [/ QUOTE ]

People are stupid. I honestly don't know how you can deal with rude, disrespectful, stupid people on the boards all day long and still give positive responses to everyone.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Are people who talk about people who are rude, disrespectful and stupid by being rude, disrespectful and stupid in fact rude, disrespectful and stupid?

Of course, "gaining customers" is a relative term. Technically, if one new person joined, youre gaining customers.

    Just saying...
  6. Wow this is great! Now all my powers are crappier, but at least it wont cost as much to activate them! I love the logic there!

wait...WHATS THIS??? DEBT CAP IN HALF!!!

Wow! Now when I eventually get killed because my powers arent allowed to have 6 Damage SOs in them (i mean, why would I want more damage?), the debt isnt so bad! Hooray!

Wow Devs, thanks alot! You made my day.
  7. Sorry but this just sucks.

I was meaning to post this about badges for awhile and now seems like a good time.

My main problem with monster badges is that ONLY the team with the most damage to the monster would get the badge. This meant that id have to pit my team against others. Last time I fought Jurrasik this resulted in two problems-

    1. I had to rush my team to attack so that we could do the most damage, which resulted in half my team, who did not yet make it to CF, miss the badge.

    2. It resulted in at least 10 heros cursing about how they have been waiting for months for the badge...and they missed it. Again.

Taking down monsters is a TEAM effort- and by team I dont mean the 7 players with you, but ALL heros that assisted in taking him down.

I understand now that data-mining would be near impossible. But at least make changes in OTHER areas to make up for this.

    1. Make it so that ALL heros that did X amount of damage to a monster get the badge.

    2. Allow people who have done TFs like Moonfire present proof that they finished the TF (like presenting a screenshot).

(I know #2 is unlikely but i am VERY VERY pissed and im hoping that the Devs try and do SOMETHING to make up for this because as bad as I thought things were before, they are just terrible now.)

    Please DEVS, think this over.

    And in the end....

    It's

  9. How bout this one- nerf opinions.
  10. I don't know if anyones suggested this yet...but maybe we should nerf the Devs?

  11. Thanks for the post Cuppa.

I think the anger that builds up on the boards sometimes (usually when a big change is put into the game) is a result of-

    1. Pro and Anti groups: Those who dont support it, no matter how well you state your case, are usually flamed until all thats left is a skeleton. People dont seem to understand that not liking something does not make you a troll. Often times this kind of problem leads to lots of yelling to the point where all hopes of any sort of progress in trying to help the game is lost. Devs meanwhile look at this war and probably sigh.

    2. We dont know whats going through your heads and therefore dont really understand all the time what the logic the Devs find in nerfing something. Of course for Exhibit A I show you SS/SJ. Yes youve stated your reasons for the change...but from a players point of view, in some cases this makes no sense. Ive lived by the philosophy "if its not broken, dont fix it", not "if its not broken, break it and then eventually break everything else to even it out." I think that maybe the Devs should push a little harder to instate a change through the players point of view.

I think that if both of these issues were addressed, we'd be in good shape Cup.

    Cheers
  12. Turns out the entire thing was supposed to be a massive nerfing of regen scrappers...guess theres still hope
  13. I remember my first encounter with the Police Drones...and thinking I could aggro huge groups of villians +3 levels on me and let the Drone take em out for me (with me getting the XP)...

    ended in dissapointment
  14. continued...

I remember the first time ambushes were installed- and my lines to the team "WHERED THEY COME FROM??? WWWWWWWWWWWWWW"

I remember the beggining of the Rikiti Invasion and people spreading rumors-
    1. If you stay under the Rikiti Ship, it will blow you up, Independance Day style
    2. The ship IS the Rikiti Invasion (since it took 30 minutes for some guys to finally show)
    3. We are all gonna die (at least this one came true)

I remember the days where killing Hellions was cooler than killing SKULS

I remember being on Prime and being able to choose between 7 different APs

I remember being called crazy if you didnt choose a Fire/Dev Blaster

I remember asking people "Whats in Perez Park?" and getting answered "DEATH!!!!!"
  15. I remember there not being any mark for the Tram on the Map and having to run aimlessly throuout the city hoping to stumble apon it.

I remember running up the fireescapes to rooftops before I had my travel power, just to get those damn CoTs

I remember watching a "High Level" hero hover by me as I stared in amazment.

I remember the huge "Power 10 Enhancement" and "Earning Capes" threads and how massive they got.

I remember Aura sending out beta invites and half the people screaming YAY and half saying $&#%$@

I remember my first post- "How do I get a beta invite?"

I remember talking about SG bases- back in Issue 1

what the? why do they need to respond? it was a temporary event, people had fun, people took advantage. so what. move on already.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Not my point.

It was fun, didnt say it wasnt. But id did sweep in a wave of noobs who are now at my level and helping me get XP Debt.

And the Devs havent said a word.

    hmmm

    [/ QUOTE ]

Are you looking for a personal apology from the devs for putting on an event that a lot of people enjoyed? Maybe you need to be more disciminating about the teams you join.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Absoultly not- I wanted to hear from them- i did and im good now.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    *sigh*

    How about this:

    [ QUOTE ]

I havent seen a post by the Devs discussing its impact or admitting its failure.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You wanted an admission of failure not just to hear from them. (which you didn't get)

    and this:

    [ QUOTE ]

An apology would be nice yes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ah...so you DID want an apology.

So make up your mind already. Admit it. You wanted the devs to admit failure and to apologize to an event based upon how 'you' felt it should be.

    You still haven't gotten that.

I still smell a whiner around here somewhere.

Sorry, but I have a very low tolerance for whiners. Especially whiners who contradict themselves and keep changing their stories.

    [/ QUOTE ]

THats just a question of how you saw the WL event- being that im STILL dealing with WLed n00bs, I see it as a failure. My opinion man. Of couse its how I saw it. Im not speaking for the other heros that had issues with this. Its my personal deal here.

If you dont like seeing other peoples "whinning" (or as most people call- OPINIONS) then you shoulnt be on the boards man.

Absoultly not- I wanted to hear from them- i did and im good now.

But this was not a "its all about me" thing- this has impacted ALOT of players- guess your not one of them.

And if you shifting the blame to my personal capabilities in joining a team, maybe you can be the one to make the question sheet i should be giving each team member before i start (question example: What is your favorite type of power in CoH and why? minimum 3 pages or quit)
  18. [ QUOTE ]
It was only our third event (if memory serves)...so we're still learning.

Rikti invasion was nice...Halloween worked well...and the Winter Lords had some good stuff.

We noted our errors and will rectify them next time.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thank you very much Statesman. Im happy that your looking into it. I already look foward to your next event.

    Keep up the great work.
  19. Again Ami, if you were smart enough to check the other boards, ive already explained that i went scrapper and did not TOUCH the Fitness pool.

Im voicing my opinion here. Whoever said that im looking for attention is stupid- arent toe boards made for this? This is my chance to talk to the devs.

Now lets SAY that i am a noob who has not a clue what hes talking about...you can go on all u guys want about how stupid and dumb i am.

Does that take away from the fact that the WLers are still makuing the game a real pain for alot of people?

No im sorry but its still an issue and i am curious about what the devs about. Attacking my personal credibility just shows your own incapability to have a DISCUSSION and turn it into an argument.

Im not attacking the DEvs. I really apretiate everything theyve done for the game. But I still have a say, just like every one else has.

Why not just be glad that you get to help a bunch of people test out new powers they think are cool? Debt's not that big a deal.

    [/ QUOTE ]

In a perfect world, id agree that yes I can help people with new cool powers.

Except most noobs are over-confident and think they know better.

Example: WLed N0ob runs into a mob and tps us all in- after aggroing 10 groups along the way. We tell him not to do that. this is followed by lots of cursing and a quit.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So you're the n00b in this scenario?

Experienced players always turn on "prompt for team teleport" when they don't know the folks they're teamed with.

Given that this is the thing you choose to use as an example of newbie behavior, I'd suggest you look to your own house first.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wait...so im in a level...tping has to be done fast to avoid getting killed...so i turn it off expecting my teammate to be competant. That assumtion was my bad ill admit that.

Besides that the TP prompt is usually on.

Again, that fact though is completly irrelivant to the situation at hand. Please stick to the problems, not create new ones.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You said you're constantly being killed by n00bish incompetence, and yet you continue teaming with people who you don't know.

Then, you say you expect your teammates - who you don't know - to be competent, despite the entire premise of your post being that the n00bs are *everywhere* and ruining things for you enough to justify wanting an apology from the devs.

Hm... either you're too dumb to actually be consistent, or everyone else - and I mean *EVERYONE* else - who's responded is just unable to grasp the situation, and you are alone in a universe full of idiots.

Yeah, that must be it. It's everyone else's fault, and everyone but you is being irrelevant and stupid.

Tell me - if we don't know what we're talking about, why is it we who are enjoying the game and you who is complaining about it? (Don't bother responding - I know your answer: "Kwit bean errelevent")

    [/ QUOTE ]

Im a healer atm. Of course I team. My SG is pretty small so usually I have to go with some strangers.

This has never been an issue. Sure ive been killed a few times by mistakes, but again, theres been a sharp increase in this- im constantly fighting for my life with people who are supposed to be there to protect me.

Sure I can solo but I dont imagine being able to do so with just one attack power.

Id also agree with you if this were just me...but its clearly not...as someone said, there have been tons of threads on this issue...byt hey, guess you would know better

Im enjoying the game...dont know where you came up with that one...but that doesnt mean I cant express my concerns about this. Isnt that what the boards are for?

To the OPs defense, he has not committed the one action that marks a lamer, so he is not a lamer.

No complaints that we are all a bunch of fanboys kissing the devs hinds.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Haha thanks

I am actually quite fond of the Devs (fell in love with Aura once i got my Beta invite) and never had any real problems with them before. (once got upselt with the number of "stuck" baddies that were stuck in walls in my missions) but besides that, I really respec them.

This situation though, whether it be intentional or not, created a whole mess of things for alot of people. Thats all im saying.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
You're certainly a BS scrapper, I'll give ya that!

    [/ QUOTE ]

And you seem to flaunt your ignorance quite well for a guy who hasnt been around for a month!
  24. Alright this is getting rediculous- people are now attacking my own credebility to try and disprove me.

I have been around since beta. My current characters are listed below. My 50s are gone- they have "moved on". Thats it.

My problem is there is a wave of WLed n00bs creating alot of aggravation in the game for SOME (NOT ALL) heros. I am one of those people who feel that way.

again- im not bragging. Im not an amazing player. But these guys are killing themselves, and their fellow heros as well just because they used a Winter Event (one that gave WAY too much XP) to get there.

YES this might not affect you in which case there is nothing here that you need to discuss.

My only problem is that the Devs have not said a word about this. Nothing. My question is why, being that it seems that the whole WL event screwed alot of things up.

Not attacking anyone. Just stating my opinion.

    Thanks
  25. [ QUOTE ]
You know what doesn't make sense? You claim you had multiple level 50s, and yet a few days ago you post a gem like this:

    [ QUOTE ]

So i got a respec and cant decide on something-

I originally got Clear Mind which, although helpfull at times, isnt very necessary. I can also give up Gloom, being that im going more for an Emp Defender. Id much rather get Stamina which I hear is awesome.
However, to get stamina, id have to get 2 other powers in the Fitness power pool- but besides Stamina, it seems like a wasted Power Pool and id hate to waste 2 powers just to get stamina.

So my question- Is it worth it to get Stamina?

    [/ QUOTE ]

You know what I think? Since the WL event, I've seen more people trying to feign coolness by bashing the "n00bs" than actual WL newbies. It's amazing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wait so because ive gotten to 50, ive taken EVERY power possible? THere are aton. My 2 lev 50s are scrappers. Not once did I go into the Fitness power pool or any Defender powers eather.

You want to talk scrapper powers i can go on all day...
