Just because Marvel has Magneto doesn't mean they own the concept of a being that can manipulate magnetic fields.
The Flash runs fast, but we have Super Speed. Does DC own that?
[/ QUOTE ]
My point was that magnetism is fairly unique umong superheroes. (which is why I made the claw refrence... claws like that are also unique umong superheroes). There are tons of fire, ice, and speed heroes around, so the argument is harder to make that those powers are copies of marvel or DC. I figured the dangerous ground was when you copied the powers of one single hero or villian.
Not that it would mean crypic IS copying marvel, but more of an argument could be made for it then. But you're right - it depends on how they do it. If they give them the ability of flight, magnetic personal force field, etc. then yeah, they'd probably be copying magneto. Do it a different way and it looks like less of a clone.

Lorna Dane ("Polaris") is also a magnetism-manipulator. Of course, depending on who's in charge of continutity at Marvel on any given day, she might or might not be Magneto's daughter. And of course she's still a Marvel character. So... um... I'm not sure what my point was really.
Make the pocket-d a place to go!
Put a bartender, a DJ who could play our tunes, a sexy bartender, a pool table that could be used, mini-arcade games like stateman's revenge and synapse's rad racer rally and maybe a contact with a mission story-arc u know to have a special badge who could be named "bar fly" and some special inspirations beverages... And a emote to drink and flirt and pose! And some bathrooms with doors to click so only huge or male or female could enter!
And maybe we could make the arena INSIDE that pocket-d! that could be real nice! (In a seperate room surely lol)
Oaky that's it!
Baccus
I second the need for a 30-39 Striga-style hazard zone, im purpousley holding out on my main until I4 in hopes that there will be one.
As for new Villans, I really think the DE deserve an upgrade? Maybe they could induct animals into their ranks and then we could REALLY fight Godzilla
Animal DE...hmmm

Is there an official thread from where this gospel was taken?

I find it funny that someone with the moniker of Lady_Faith is asking for proof. Though the use of the word gospel seems appropriate.

I'd imagine a whole enemy group of humans who mutantgenically transformed into animals would make more sense, since they can legally skurk around the fact that it's not animal violence.
And, no, I don't mean "Let's all beat on furries."
Can't believe that nobody's mentioned:
8. Timeframe for flashback? The current temp solution is unfeasible for many due to the "kick exemplar/buddy if crash" in TFs.
Id like to get this out sometime before City of Villains.
From this post - that has a bunch of other neat-o stuff in it ta boot!
Just wanted to point out that when it involves manipulating a real force of nature, there isnt much that marvel or anyone else can do about it.
Manipulating forces is a staple of comic books.. and any force is fair game as long as its done right. Meaning, magnetism is fine, but it would probably be prudent to not give the powerset something that allows them to float around in a big blue bubble. (meaning.. its all fair game.. as long as no obvious references are made to an existing comic book character. WHich is the only reason that the Claws are questionable. Personally.. id have liked claws better if it was just one long claw instead of three short ones. but thats just me.)

Whereupon Marvel would amend the complaint to mention X-23 (the 'female Wolverine', a character with double instead of triple claw blades) instead.
[/ QUOTE ]
Point: Red.
Was unaware of this particular character.
I'd say 4 claws but then you tell me about ultimate sabertooth (though he really has 3 1/2)... so how do we approach claws to make them non-marvel? I know rob leifield when he made youngblood had a COMPLETE ripoff of wolverine (costume included) and I cant for the life of me remember how he had his claws...
Perhaps having the claws come out of the fingertips?
(though to be honest I still dont think marvel is going to win this lawsuit and claws will probably stay as-is in game)

Am I the only one who sees possible problems with the magnetism line of controllers?
There is ONE hero in all of comics that has claws similar to the claws set in CoH. Therefore there can arguably be a copyright violation there. I see the same problem with a magnetism set for conrollers. I mean... there are other options for controllers... nature control - make grass and what not entangle and ensnare your enemies. body control - specialize in posessing the bodies (but not the minds) of your enemies.... etc.
I guess I don't see a need to delve into the dangerous waters that are magneto.

Considering the fact that magnetic powers are hardly exclusive to either Magneto or Marvel, I don't see it as being an issue at all. There are multiple heroes and villains alike that have powers based on magnetism, and not only in Marvel's rogue gallery.
Don't forget Ripclaw from Image's Cyberforce. Marvel doesn't own claws.

There are many magnatism based superheros/villians (best example? Magneto's daughter Lorna who has the same powers but is a hero (usually lol). Just because one is more popular than the others doesn't give them exclusive rights to it.
Wolverines claws are much more unique than magnatism but then they don't even have a build in the game for his defense... 100% immune to smashing damage (unbreakable bones) but vulernable to lethal damage (cutting weapons). So you can't really make a clone of him in game either. Sad part is Marvel would could do with checking out CoH for some original heros as opposed to the clone of him they just released LOL.

Oh, and don't forget that Lycanthropy is discussed in the Bible.
Daniel Chapter 4 Vs 33:
[ QUOTE ]
33 Immediately what had been said about Nebuchadnezzar was fulfilled. He was driven away from people and ate grass like cattle. His body was drenched with the dew of heaven until his hair grew like the feathers of an eagle and his nails like the claws of a bird.

When should we expect the lawsuit from God? I have seen it discussed time after time that the creators at Marvel/DC borrowed heavily from other literature and mythos to create their characters. No point, just voicing my disappointment in Marvel for the suit.

I know I'm coming fairly late into this conversation but there are like 3 different heroes/villains in DC that use Magnetism as their powers. So no way does Marvel hold a license on thre power itself. In case you're wondering who those DC heroes/villains are. You have Cosmic Boy, Dr. Polaris and Magenta and two of those characters are older than Magneto. So any argument about Marvel and magnetism powers doesn't hold water.

I see what you're saying but..... copyright on magnetism?... I don't know. There are characters in comics with ICE and FIRE powers too right?
Should be fine.
[/ QUOTE ]
Last time I checked, the principles of gravity, magnetism, fire, air, earth, water, sound, body, and mind were all still forces of nature. The issue really is more about the character created than the powers used. Marvel isn't suing because you lift heavy things - Marvel is suing because you lift heavy things in ripped purple pants, sporting green skin, built like a weightlifter on steroids, with a name above your toon like The Inflagible Hulck .
Magneto, Polaris, Magenta (teen titans guest star), Cosmic Boy (who, by the by, predates Magneto by FIVE YEARS!)... copying those characters are what could run you into trouble, not their abilities.
Detour - 50 Inv/SS Tank - on since Beta; Foresight - 50 Controller - on since Summer 2004
Zephyr. - 28 Scrapper - April 2005 1st Place,Victories/ 1st Place, Outcast Nemesis - Steel Canyon - Victory Server- all on Victory.
Catalyst Kid - level 50, Justice server
Wind Racer - level 50, Virtue red side
Just to respond to doubters and such, I made sure that nothing I put on the list wasn't in a recent red-name post. I even relegated the stuff that hadn't been a red-name post in several months to that back-burner category at the bottom. My post has been a place to catalog the most likely features coming, and dispel specualation, not increase it. Thanks, States, for the preview of more mini-events!
Hopefully, we can also look forward to more mission revampings, like they did with the Freaklympics, Dr. Vazh, and Tsoo tatto parlour (dare I dream, a Vegas-style Family gambling den?)
That would be very nice indeed.

Don't forget to add "more mini-events like the giant Octopus, the Ghost Ship and the infamous Paladin."

I am still waiting patiently for a Rikti Invasion/Attacks, where their starships appear overhead and the city section is swarmed with Rikti beaming in.
Maybe an Invasion of Monster Robots alla Winter Lord. Rikti Monster Robots!! From starships!! yeah, it could happen!!
