The Kudos Thread
Yup. More kudos from me. Only have 2 hours of time logged with I3 but so far, I'm pleased.
Thanks Dev Team!

This is also to first MMOG and I really enjoy it and am very addicted. I have read comics all my life and played pen-n-paper hero games. This is my dream game. Thank you for making it.
I love almost everything I've seen so far.
Love the new options on the map! No more clutter when I'm trying to click on something.
Love the war between 5th column and the Council. That is fun to just watch.
I even like the new mission marker. Can't wait to see the other stuff. Good job!
I'm liking the lack of "loot". It would so ruin my game if I felt I was a mercenary hero. Good thinking Cryptic.

Happy gaming!

See, my sleep schedual prevented me from actually adding anything to this thread that has NOT already been said...
...but my sleep schedual is a little whacked out because I play until the servers go down
I can say the super heroes have always been some of my favorite fiction, even more so than fantasy or clean-cut sci-fi. So I acn give a a huge thank you finally producing a game that so many of us were waiting for for years, and then go and make then darned thing even better!
I'm sending a big thank you for three people. Me, my best friend, and my cousin, all three of us have had the most fun on City of Heroes than we have on any other MMORPG to date. I'm the forum junkie of the three, and I relay most of the information about updates and Statesman posts to them, and The very fact that there ARE Stateman posts to relay to them says volumes in my book. I love the Update 3 changes, making runners simple for melee to take out, making fear a viable power, making Tanks that much better at Aggro management, the war itself this first week, the evidence of the Armor sets being worked on at long last, the acknowledgment of Controller issues for the next update, the Ancillary powers and Kheldian Epic ATs, and all the other minor tweaks that escape me at this moment. Long live the City of Heroes!
Bout time we did this. Thank you devs for all the hard work you put in. I really like my new Kheldian and I'm still positively loving this game. Don't let the whiners get to you. Keep putting out this great product.
I have been playing since Beta and love the game! It's nice to see others feel the like I do.
Kudos to you Cryptic for making such a great game!
In ups and downs, this game has always been great and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!
P.S: Thank you thank you thank you for those Council vs. 5th Column rows, never had I enjoyed so much while reaching the debt cap (from no debt whatsoever) in 1 hour!
Thanks for making my dream of being a hero come true, at least in an online world.
For being a great dev team and sticking to your standards and vision, I applaud you.
Back to the game!
From creating my first character (who is still my primary), to leaping gracefully over cars and fences in Atlas Park that first night, to the awesome missions at Portal Corp I'm just now beginning to experience (not to mention all of the updates in between!), I've loved every minute of playing this game.
Thank you for the effort, creativity and passion. Thank you for listening to our requests and tempering that with careful consideration and patience. Thank you most of all for creating, maintaning and updating a game you obviously enjoy enough to still be playing yourselves.
I can't imagine going to any other game for a while (as I only play one MMO at a time)... at least until City of Villains is released!
I like to send my thanks as well!! You guys do an awesome job that I cant wait in what will happen in 2005. Happy New Year! Happy Heorics to all! I'm so happy cuz I just earned my badge in destorying that octupus.
Thanks for daring to make a superhero genred MMO. Prior to COH, I was spending my time on Google looking for the Hero Mud libs.

Not that the boards aren't pretty negative as a whole, bue ESPECIALLY after a release...
And every release these boards become flamefest for a couple of weeks.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thank you for making my exact point which is there would not be so much negativity after a release IF there wasn't something broken. People don't post negatively about positive changes, at least not in my experience.
And yes of course even if a release was completely smooth without a bug in the world people would STILL find something to complain about BUT I guarantee you it wouldn't be anywhere as near as bad as it is at the moment.
People just don't feel they're listened to and they don't understand why. I completely sympathize with them. It sucks to be told you have a voice only for it to seem like that voice is stifled constantly. But all in all I love this game and I am very thankful for the things the Devs do give us...usually.
I know this is still an on the fence kind of post and it will remain that way. I'm just wary of a few things.
Oh and by the by, since my last post I played with Issue 3 non stop last night until dawn's early light and I have to say that I'm not as thankful as I was BUT that's a post better left for other places in the forums.
Still thankful for Striga Isle though. I love that zone. The Vulcanologist badge is fun too!
Thank you Statesman for repeatedly stating the obvious until we finally get it
Thank you Cuppa for countless things - may your Jo be hot and tasty with a nice little cookie on the side
Thank you geko - I saved a lot of money on my... ohh wait...
Thank you Positron - for having the coolest avatar
Thank you Lord_Recluse - though I have to say, lord of what exactly? Is update V going to have a hidden castle? Hmm...
Thank you Vyvyanne for vehemently vilifying trollish vitriol
Thank you Case for working on our technical glitches and disconnects - I haven't had a "lost connection to mapserver" error in like 6 months.
Thank you Bruce for knowing the George R R Martin books - when the heck IS that next one coming out? I preordered it with a gift certificate I got last christmass (no joke)!!
Thank you Bridger for bringing the game to those wacky foreigners
Thank you Ravenstorm for having the coolest name
It seemed only fair to give as many of you as I could think of some direct (if silly) thanks. I know I missed some of you guys out there, but I do appreciate all of you and this game a lot.
I know have complained when you have changed something I liked, but I want to make sure you know this is the best game I've ever played, and I have been playing video games on nearly every platform available since the very first ones ever were available, so that's saying a lot.
All right, well I've been up for the last 18 hrs and need to play some CoH before bed so I better go home from work.
Thanks again to ALL the devs for your hard work.
been playing for about 2 months and have been reading the boards since practically day one, but this is my first post...
not gonna say much that hasn't been said before, but just wanted to say how fed up i am at the number of whiners there are on these boards. thanks to ncsoft and cryptic and the devs for an awesome game that no amount of criticism i hear/read can ruin for me. no other game has been so successful at eating up countless hours of my time (and making me regret it the next day).
if i fail out of med school or become a terrible doctor i owe it all to you guys! thanks again
I've been noticing a lot of negativity, a lot of people bitter that they didn't get the experience they feel they are 'owed' from the developer team in the Controller Issues thread. Particularly from Invul. Tankers.
When I saw the link in Pilcrow's Sig, I knew it was time to come spread some love.
My roommate has left CoH after getting me hooked. He's off having a wonderful time with WoW (seems EQ2 has already bored him). As for me, I am staying put. I love this game passionately.
Thank you for Fly, and skyscrapers.
Thank you for distant, hazy vistas that form and make sense as you near them, just as they do in real vision.
Thank you for detailed cities and spaces. Burning buildings. Thanks for just about everything in Independence Port.
Thanks for Halloween. I can't say enough about how good it felt to trick or treat again, from the comfort of my computer chair.
Thanks for the Terra Volta trials. What a perfect challenge!
Thanks for Task Forces, costume quests, cape quest, and assorted goodies.
Thanks for billboards and waters and skies and clouds and (soon), snow.
My girlfriend, Erin, died this past November. She was living in Brisbane Australia (exactly on the other side of the world) and I have had no contact with her family or friends despite numerous attempts, and I've had a pretty rough month because of it. I have been out of work, waiting for word of the funeral, or where she's buried, or whether or not I was mentioned in her will. It's been really frustrating and CoH has been great therapy at times. Sometimes I've left playing, reminding myself that people in the real world need help, too, just like those yelling NPC's.
Thank you for entertaining me. If you're ASKING, I have a box full of suggestions, things I would LOVE to see. But even if the game doesn't go my way, doesn't balance according to my view of the world, it's breathtaking and phenomenal, and deserves my respect and admiration.
Good job, guys!
The things i love about I3: <ul type="square">
The Ancillary power pools
Khelds (gives me an excuse to team while still being able to do some stuff solo)
BEING ABLE TO HIT A RUNNER IN MELEE! god i love that
the new insps (though i never have the right one when i need it)
The end of the door clock bug which was my bane...
The change to unyielding (immobile status protection prevented me from considering Invul for any of my scrappers)
The Regen changes makes the 16-27 game WAY more fun.
The zone events while infrequent are very cool when you catch one.[/list]
haven't had the chance to really check out striga or it's TF's so i'll wait till i get there.
and i dont think everything in I3 is perfect but i like more than i hate so i'm still happy
Guardian Server
Fury 50 NRG/ELC Blaster

Megarea 22 Ill/Storm Controller

Thanks Devs, you are doing a great job. And I love how you handle things. Best community of all MMORPG I played.

Aye Kudos to all the devs and people at NC soft/Cryptic for CoH and all the players and posters who supprt and make the CoH community so amazing
It hasn't been one year since launch, yet the devs have improved
this already excellent game exponentially in that time. And what's
more, they've done it by very much listening to the community and
our suggestions, and by implementing many of them.
Kudos to All.
Even with the innumerable improvements in issue 3, I'm still
thrilled beyond belief with the post-issue-2 katana animations.
Looking forward to issue 4 as well.
Thanks for making such a great game, and for being the reason my girlfriend keeps yellin at me to get off the computer!!!
So good to finally see a positive thread. You know, guys, the only way to have the devs work more to please us is to let them know that the majority of us are indeed pleased.
Interesting statistic to keep in mind is that usually a displeased customer will let you and everyone around know in every way shape and form that he's displeased (often overreacting and exagirating), it's human nature. However, a pleased one will just come back again and not say much about it until he's asked. This thread is a GREAT way to ask.
That being said, DEVS, YOU ARE THE GREATEST!!! I love the way you guys keep a cool head about every complaint and whine. I love it how you have a clear vision of where CoH is going. Sure, I may not agree with every decision, but in the end, I'm continuously more and more pleased with CoH. I've been following the game development for over 2 years, and now to see it bloom so nicely is quite a reward.
Keep up the good work, and we'll be looking forward for the new, intriguing and engaging content in the future.
What else can I say? I should be working on my LARP that I have to run in less than 24 hours. No other game in my life grappled my attentions so bad that my other games start to suffer....
Well, the LARP isn't suffering yet, but that's just 'cause I got a great Game Staff.
So I raise my coffee mug to ya all! I3 is a blast, can't wait for I4, and I hope we're all here for I10 and beyond!

I've got to add in my thanks and appreciation to the fantastic Dev and Support teams (who've been recently joined by two of my family at the new Brighton office) This is my first MMORPG, I signed on when CoH started last year and I've enjoyed every minute I've played. I see myself playing this for some time to come.
