Well golly lets figure out why someone would have such a concern about Regen getting "minor" tweaked into a waste of time to have leveled..etc...

Seems just about everytime in the past that they've caved or catered, however you wanna view it, to EITHER the powergamer crowd or their counterpart bleeding heart envy opposers...whatever the subject of their debate winds up chewed into a state where most of your casual/average gamers find fustrating. *shrug* For instance, I built a regen scrapper, an I've been work'n her up slowly...finally got her into her early 20's....I do NOT have the fitness line, nor do I intend to take it, as I feel Regen secondary alone is sufficient in that regard. Now because a bunch of power game'n goobers are go'n off the deep end with a power combinations they're going to tweak/nerf regen's BASE powerset?!?! I'm not sure how that's gonna help beyond adding even MORE incentive/need to stack such powers. I'm hoping their "tweak" is more along the lines of simply disabling the ability of regen power set to stack with fitness an other similiar overlap abilities...or maybe simply restrict them to bring those builds that are pushing over the line back into line, without putting those of us without such build into a real suck'tard bind. See'n as their implentations regarding such issues haven't been exactly even or stellar in the regards of many. So long winded post cut short.... Hell yes I'm concerned about their "tiny tweak". At least until the facts about exactly what is being tweaked an how is out, to allow us some sort of idea of what's about to come.

oh an in an inane effort to stem some "well just go respec" crying... Riiiiight. Again not really looking forward to wade'n through a TF that's either a breeze for the SG gifted, highly social, or power game crowd, an a mortal freaking terror an pure hell for those of NOT. For that matter prospect of do'n that TF post "tweak" (should it be as nasty as I'm fear'n in some regard) is really disheartening considering the difficulties to be had now with unnerfed power combo's, sets, results...etc... Who knows...they might just get a tweak in that's right on the money...but I have about as much blind faith in that as I do in organized religion saving the world from it's own ignorance...well okay not entirely fair...I have more faith in CoH dev team then that.

So I slogged out 32+ levels in an AT that quite frankly is unimpressive only to learn that the one really good power I get (Thunderous Blast) is slated for nerfing?

Aim is pathetic, the Electric Blaster secondary set is utter trash, and now TB will be nerfed.

The Electric Blaster AT is apparently so acceptable to the Devs that there won't be a boost and instead we can look forward to a nerf. I get lousy AoEs until 32 and the only power making the AT worthwhile will be nerfed.

Please explain how Electric Blasters are overpowered with one decent AoE that they get after 32 painful levels and that requires both Aim + BU + 6 enhancement slots to be really nice.

Thanks for the heads up Statesman, I'll be moving on to WoW or just quitting MMORPGs once the nerf happens.

If I'm 50 by then it won't matter but forcing me to group in a game that punishes me every time I group is retarded.

I take aggro from tanks no matter how long I wait for them to aquire it, all I need to do is start nuking. Mobs peel away from the tank and kill me no matter how much time I give the tank to aquire aggro. Healers can not outheal the damage I take from a single mob in most circumstances.

Apparently the Devs expects me to continue to group for the "pleasure" of earning debt, unfortunately the game is simply not that much fun.

Add in a nerf to my AT defining "uber nuke" and I'll be glad to reduce other players lag by terminating my CoH account and never purchasing another Cryptic Product (you can join my boycott list right next to SoE).

I see a good amount about the Invulnerability power set; however, I'm more curious about the effect stackable Stone/Ice Armors would have on players choosing Invulnerability. Why would a player choose a power set that did not protect from psionics, when they could easily choose one that would not only protect from psionics, but everything else as well? It seems to me that stackable armors really make Invulnerability a lesser choice.

Maybe I don't understand exactly the intent of the DEVs, but to provide an example, at the moment Invulnerability provides players moderate protection from everything except psionics. With stackable Stone Armor, a player would have high or extreme protection from everything including psionics.

I understand that Stone Armor is a toggle based power set while Invulnerability is always on, but there are ways to get around the endurance cost of the armors, as they are not that draining to begin with. It really seems to me that stackable Stone Armor would put Invulnerability to shame.

nope just means you're narrow minded. Bottom line ANY nerf to blaster damage is a nerf to blaster survivability. if you can't see that I could give a damn.

In fact My blaster is already LV 50.... stick a fork in him. what the developers have planned is going to hurt the game. Less diversity.... why even play a blaster? for what? what's the ultimate pay off when your ultimate power is turned into the same sort of garbage that pollutes blaster secondaries? Hey if you people are cool with there being just 4 AT's.... and some epics. cool beans... because that's exactly where where headed.

All other AT's have damage mitigation abilities except blasters.... and if you say it's range you're full of garbage.

Our damage mitigation is extreme damage. If you're going to nerf that, changes need to be made to give people a fighting chance.

Yeah, kiting isn't the same after Update 2. It seems like (admitting to not doing qualitative research on it) a lot of mobs got an aggro/attack range boost. Better or more intense secondary effects might help out if the nerf bat truly makes its presence known.

2. Regen? I hope you dont plan on nerfing regen! if so Im out! seriously and I think you will loose alot of others too.

3. Missions - +1 thats not enuff.. I wouldnt mind having the same lvl mobs but more of them come on! 2-3 per mob if your solo what crap is that ? why so little ? why not add a difficulty setting in were you can specify your difficulty level and have that adjust the xp you get.

Clarify - you have 4 settings

1) hardest - 7-10 per mob +20% xp/influence
2) hard - 5-7 per mob +10% xp/influence
3) normal 2-5 per mob +0% -nominal
4) easy 1-2 per mob -20% ( -20 because if you select this you are a chump!)

And tweaking regen is a bad idea I cant count how many times I have been 1 hit killed by boss's or even monsters of my own lvl reducing that is bull.. if anything it should be up a bit and end too!.. remember the only resistance they have is resilience and that isnt much and if they get tough and still its not enuff.

Im pretty sure that you are doing your best but come on were supposed to be Super Heroes! not nerfed heros with nerf baseball bats and supernerf balls.. and thats how its getting powers hit as hard as a rubber ball.

if anything make all powers stronger make the bad guys stronger.. make them EPIC!... come on make it fun again make it so people dont loose interest after just a bit of playing. excite people.

If Regen is NOT tweaked I think you'll see alot more troubles:

Mission on Champion server was the Capture the Freak Captains Freaklympics mission.

8 man mission, one level 31-32 Katana/regen Scrapper
2 Sk'd Tanks
1 Storm/Elec Defender(main herding "tank")
and miscelanous
Total Team wiped occured leaving the Kat/regen scrapper still standing.

Surrounded by atleast 10 -1 Freak Tank Bosses.
He took his time, yes. He slaughtered them all, YES.
They wounded him down a couple times. Once he laughed and admitted was his own fault for not activating one of his powers. He didn't care that the team was dead. It didn't frighten him a bit. He was also either playing with an outside macro or one handed and the keyboard, because he always turned clockwise in a slow, steady fashion that is nearly impossible to achieve with the human hand and a mouse.

Even IF this is a FLUKE character, specially designed to achieve fantastic Defensive abilities, it shouldn't exist. Sacrificed a couple of attacks? Boo Hoo. Perma Hasten 3 attacks till 32, then Respec and take only the high end attacks minus your initial forced choice and keep perma hasten. The Damage is capped, the Defense is capped, the Debuff is capped. Why not the Freak of nature tweaks? With that said, I've teamed wtih ALOT of other scrappers for my storm herding missions. Even the so called provoke + invuln scrapper wasn't immortal and DID die while trying to herd. I think alot of folks have found a trick to exploit some characters into levels of abilties far beyond mortal Heroes or their AT's >intent<. THAT only should be NERF batted but swing hard on that.

Also something to add to the back burner is Kinetic Defenders. Crucifixes and holy water aside, once folks get their attacks 6 slotted 1 acc 5 dmg, with build up, + a cute little red inspir and that 400% dmg cap isn't too far off. Of all the extremely contriversial snarlings and offerings for fixing what some(myself included) think of as a weakER primary, making the Overall dmg Boost impractical to hit without a buffing(Fulcrum Shift) would be nice. I'd offer just 50% more myself. And why is a Travel power like Inertial Reduction at 18 when no1 even NEEDS a travel power anymore? It'd be more useful if it and Speed boost were switched, imo. ESPECIALLY with the awful terrain NIGHTMARE that is "The Hollows"...

And Speed boost either given a PBAoE so minimize time spent being a buff bot or make it longer lasting. Alot of kinetics HATE the idea of PBAoE Speed Boost for some reason, but I'd throw that out there for you.


EDIT: OMG!!! PLEASE!! New Power Pool : THROWN OBJECTS!!!!
Level 1: Rock smash dmg can accept range enhancers, dmg enhancers, stun enhancers
Level 2: Knives lethal dmg can accept everything above except stun enahncers, does more dmg than Rock with smal DoT
Level 3: Multi Knife Maybe small cone effect with identical slotting as knife above with lowered range
Level 4: Trash Can/MailBox Smash dmg, knockback. Think Propel.

I can't think of ANY for fun hero who WOULDN'T take this power pool for atleast SOMETHING.

On fighting pool I'd like to kick w/o putting my weapons away please. Lowers my already low DPS as a weapon using Tank.

PS: I liked the Eochi. Time for you boys to call up Toho. Hint hint, wink wink. THAT is what I signed up to play CoH for. Request channel's blaring out city alerts and Heroes screaming for help as massive forces of evil o'er sweep the land. Can giant Rikti War Mongering Space craft be that far behind??? The denizens of Paragon City can only ponder that thought this night and shudder, but hope is kept alive knowing that THIS hero, and others like him, WILL BE READY...

This isn't about defending statesman from the slings and arrows of the boards rants. It's about respecting the other people on the fripping boards. There are plenty of threads to drill down into AE and Regen issues - some even started by the devs. If you don't think there are enough, then you have the power to start one. You could even post a link in this thread to your new thread without crossing the line into putzville.

But when someone put rants in a Q&A thread, they aren't screwing with Statesman. The people they're screwing with are the ones in here whose questions don't get answered because they felt like hijacking this thread.

Regen isn't a problem.. they play just like the DAOC Bonedancers do in a way.. people would say "When the fight ended they had full health!" but they got the guy down to 10% several times and if the damage rate was just a hair faster, they would have been a smear on the pavement and a pushover. There's only a very hairline thin area between "blew through it without trouble" and "died almost instantly" on a Regen - it's like giving an AT less than 20% of Blaster HP but capping their Defense.. either they won't get scratched or they'll go down in one hit, no middle ground.


A no attack "Group-Friendly" Defender is like a "Team Friendly" basketball player who won't dribble, run, or shoot, under any circumstances. "I'm a PASSER."

Because the mission slider is being implemented to ramp up the difficulty, as per the players' requests. Ramping up the number of mobs as well would be easily exploitable to farm mobs AND get the mission xp bonus.

We all know teams and soloers can farm missions now. The dev's just aren't going to reward players any more than they already do. Players wanted to control the difficulty - they will have that. Players want to herd and farm - hit the streets.

Also, IF Revive were to rescucitate a character with a return of 1/3 to 1/2 of endurance, THEN it would be justified as an 8th Regeneration power.

As it is, most Scrappers are told to THINK TWICE about going for the last 2 powers in the Regeneration set...

What good are powers that, once you click them, you either DIE IMMEDIATELY or MAKE A FIREWORKS SHOW AND DIE IMMEDIATELY...
