Then we'll put the kids in a circle, toss the gifts in the center and let them scramble for them. Oh, and just to make it even better, we'll have volunteers physically restrain a few of the kids so they have no chance of getting a present whatsoever!

I'm sure some of the kids will be disappointed and a few will probably cry, but to those kids I will say, "These presents are free! You are not entitled to one, so chill the hell out."

I just know it's going to put everyone in the Christmas spirit, because after all that's what the holidays are all about - peace on Earth, goodwill to men, and giving gifts to a few fast and/or lucky people while leaving everyone else empty handed.
You're really comparing adults not getting a good enough chance at winning a luck based lottery with this? Wow. Just wow.
You expect everyone to just get a code for Christmas without a competition, as that what your over the top example suggests.

Most Paragon contests I have even less chance, as I'm not allowed to enter. That really is not a chance, unlike this one which is does provide you a chance.
  3. The debuff bonus on Musculature with the damage might be good benefit depending on your slotting of thorn attacks.
  4. Bid cheap, and bid well in advance.

I start on IOs very early (level 7). A bunch of level 10 and level 15 generics cost less than 5k each if you wait overnight for them to fill. Ios at around 15-20 are comparablle with DOs, without the hassle of having them degrade.

All generics 30-50 IOs can generally be got for around 120k left bidding overnight. Sometimes cheaper, so bid before you get to the level you want to slot them NOW. When I over buy, I put the excess on the market, often for profit.

    This is all puchasing crafted.

Bidding for recipes, I tend to do in blocks of 5 to make it easie to manage, aside from drops. Selling the excess for profit.

Frankenslotting IOs starts paying off better than DOs/SOs at 20/25, Frankenslotting is using the multi-aspect set IOs, eg getting one acc/dam from one set, and one acc/dam from another is often better than slotting 1 acc and 1 dam. See http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Frankenslotting for mor einfo.

The key really is to bid a few days in advance of need. Or bid, and alt.

    30,750?

Some regular market types like to 'sign' thier bids. It can help if fliiping from a range of alts.

This sounds like someone flipping for 30k who uses a 750 for sig, but could also be someone buying a stack for crafting.

And yes, bidding 1 extra works well. Or next round number up to avoid signing it yourself.
  6. I like putting a damage proc in web grenade. It's not much, but it is a chance for damage, particularly if you are spamming it for -recharge anyway,
  7. There's also the virtue LFG Alpha (virtue, teams/taskforces)
  8. I love this event. One of my fav things in all of heroes.

If anything, the IOed AV soloers are *helping* you as they probably spend much more time in an arc than the usual average, that is if you believe that the devs blindly datamine, use the obtained data without taking in consideration outliers and make changes based on that and that alone (I somehow doubt that is how it really goes in their office).
You don't think IO'd characters go through content faster? Much Faster in my experience.
My IOd characters can race through story arcs/O missions way faster than my generic IO's characters.

One Heavily Io'd character on a team makes a noticeable difference on most pugs.

Eight well IO'd characters can spilt and take on 8 person mobs by themselves, and not die anywhere near as much as an average pug might.

Not sure why you moved from 'any content' to AV soloers. But yes, AV soloers would be slower than most teams, and if thier times were counted, they are affecting the game in general.

"Does anything anyone do in their mission affect the game at all ? ". That includes people who are IO'd, well organised, have nukes, are hopeless but not hopeless enough to fail the task, etc etc.

Do I think the Devs don't take into consideration the outliers, No, not well enough. I don't think they ignore to the extreme you're projector, but its not based on the mythical causal player times either. That failed taskforces/story arcs arent included in data, the little reward the Redside taskforce return, the already mentioned eden TF giving 7 merits show that to me.

'scuse the threadjack, but whats wrong with the Corruptor LR?

The character I still have, and dislike is my first hero 50, a psi/kin.
I've respecc'd a few times and havent got it to click properly for me.

I think its my only character I havent respeced for inherent fitness.
  11. Unlocking on all most likley, I dont have many.

Most contests have a lot of people that can't actually participate in.

Even more costume codes giveaways have even less people able to do it.

It would seem to me that applying codes to master account straight away prevents the resell of those codes via ebay. This is a good thing.

It's amazing how many people are claiming to know what the majorty of the playerbase "hate". I doubt the majorty of the player base goes beyound indifference, but I'm not claiming to know the minds of 150k people.

At the end of the period draw XX entries from the pool and e-mail them their costume codes OR just apply it directly to their account.
Maybe applied directly you thier account, (avoiding the reselling that way) but I'd rather the prize went via entry with a NPC ingame, not picking random gold touter number 45 for it.
  13. It does seem really rude the mastermind pets damage doesnt count.

I stay mostly on Virtue (am aussie too playing similar times).

Make sure you have joined global channels. And be willing to alt.

On virtue this includes virture TFs/Virtures taskforce 2010, Virtue United, Virture LFG Alpha. Often tfs all hours of the day, and always groups to be had.
If you're willing to start one, you can have a team/taskforce any time.

If you are a regular justice player, make sure you are on the Australia channel. I lurk on it a lot (less use for me as its 99% justice server orientated, and I'm not on justice very much.) and they run taskforces at least twice a week, more since i19. Go to the australia section of this forum, and see thier schedules.

    (snip).
The speed people run story arcs and taskforces effect 'my' game in terms of the amount of merits rewarded by (average? mean?) time.

I'm not complaining about the alpha slot, or characters the are IO'd, but the speed that people run missions does impact on everyone.
  16. Its been great getting extra powers before 20.
I've been getting travel power more frequently, and earlier now. Recall friend, and stealth are easy picks.
I'ld like to see everyone running leadership toggles. Grat Maneuvers and pout an end red in it:/

    You learn. Learn to dodge.

Especially to stop queuing up the next attack so that you can move. *THAT* is what kills people. You get about a 5 second warning. There is no animation in the game that long. The only people who are 'caught' by 'rooting' are those who queued up a second attack or weren't paying attention.

    Learn not to do that.

Blasters are adept at that. They fire, run, fire. Melee-ers are not. They plant themselves and queue up an attack chain. Doing that will get you killed. Don't do that.

BTW, I use long casting time sniper fire for that mission.
hmmm I see lots of death by lag in my future.

You have to have the slot open, by the way, so make sure you've got your 50 through Ramiel's arc first, as far as I know.
So, asking to clarify, is it defiantly level 50+ enemies unlike purples which are 47+ ?

The Incarnate arc will be there for every single level 50 to do. And we'll have to do it in order to unlock the Incarnate slot.
Most of these things I've skipped and never bothered about after the first few times, unless it was for a reward I wanted (badge for invention tut).
If you just going to add things you do more than once for its reward, you might as well list the entire game.
Anyone doing the uni inventory multiple times on a single character because they can by swapping sides is more than a bit masochistic.
  20. I very much like the new arc for unlocking them, and I didn't whine about the other options before
  21. Often the base. I tend to go quiet places too. Uni at the back. Midnight club. Away from where I could be hearing auras or the like left on auto.
Unless my connection is wonky that day, whhere I'll respec in my day job location so I can ragequite after disconnects.
  22. Before GR it was hoped the shadow shard would be coop one day. Now I doubt it, as you can just get your villians to cross over if you decide the threat is worth it.

Still be nice, but I bet its real low down on the 'make it so' list.

That would be great. or even a contest like this with no other prize except something ingame like that so everyone could enter.

    Anyway:
Usual Kudos on a great contest idea
    Usual Good Luck everyone
Usual Gripe about not being able to enter
Usual Wish NCSoft would spend the time/money on working out contests that everyone could enter.

Why cant you grab a screen shot of the enhancment screen? I'm asking to see if can help.
On windows, you press the print screen key, alt-tab and paste into Paint (or even Word).
The mac way is harder, but can look for the info its thats why?
