I am hoping for the 29th as well now or after the week of March 6th. Its just that there is this little game coming out that you may have heard of, that's only been one of the most anticipated games of the past year.
-
Where did you see the results for the proc in your damage aura? I had it in my lightning field last night and could not tell any difference, or see it displayed.
Other then that I am really happy with the set I have mine split between 2 powers now for +10 S/L def, that lets me keep my softcap and move other powers around, no more having to 4 slot Brawl with Kinetic combats was great! -
I wont even go into long detail on those that are complaining so much over this. If you don't like it then don't buy it, its just like any other item you want in the "real" world, if you want it spend money.
Have you never played any trading/miniature game on the market, how about almost all F2P games, or most video games? Almost every single one has random packs or items you ahve to spend money on, I don't even want to go in to detail how much I have spent on something like heroclix.
The big thing is everything in the pack has value you may think its not to you, but it is. You say I'm already level 50, then roll a new alt and use the xp boosters, I'm level 50 and maxed out then use some enhancement boosters and unslotters to make your build better. Even the dual inspirations have some use.
So my wife and me both opened up 24 packs, both of us got all the costume pieces around 12-15 packs in. Lots of ATO's enough to trade and come close to slotting our mains, others we stocked up or sold and made some good profit. Both over 1200 merits enough to buy whatever we want. I had 5 catalysts and she had 3.
To all those that are misinformed you can get 2 ATO's and 2 costume pieces in 1 pack.
My final 2 cents it was fun turning the cards over, I have no complaint on spending money on these. Will I buy more, maybe a few more for fun, but I have what I need, except for some more catalysts but I can wait for them as drops. Will I like to see more, yes and then have the first packs with a lower price, and add in some more top end prizes (like free game time, points, higher merits) I cant wait to here the debate on the next super packs. -
I never have great luck with stealthing on a brute, and now I really know why, kinda figured it was something like that. I usually try not to stealth unless solo or on a very small team.
If doing a TF I usually just fight up front and let someone port me, If I try and brute run I usually have to jump through mobs and drag them with me, witch usually means drag them to a squishie. -
I have stocked up on a bunch that I think will have a big sale turn around and if not then I can use them on my alts. I have plenty of purple sleep and others as well that I bought cheap. I started buying pretty much when I heard about the converters sometime around Thanksgiving. I have also stocked up on other low end recipes in other purple, PVP sets that may turn a big profit. One I know will have a big turn around, by still looking at the market today.
If not those IO's I can use on the plenty of alts and new ones I make. -
Mortimer Kal Strike Force is a good one as well, it can be done fast(around 15 minutes), its easy, and has a good level range(20-40), and you only need 4 to start.

Heres a little tip that some may not know.
You can add the effect of the enhancement booster in Mids.
When you click on a IO to change or slot it and the new window pops up. Hover over the Io and use the -/+ key to up it. You will then see it say something like 50+5 on the left hand side, and you will also be able to see the values change. You have to click on the Io for it to take place.
Doing this you can see that all you really need is a 50+5 and a 50+2 IO to max out a power like hasten or Stamina, unless you just what to squeeze out a little more like on a perma (whatever) build. -
I would say go with whatever you want to be your main to be and have the most fun playing them since you will be spending a ton of time on them anyway.
That being said you will want something that's pretty solo friendly unless you have a group to play with for all the missions and flashbacks. The high end TF's are not that picky on whats needed so any would work there.
Kheldians would be a good choice to fit any role, they solo well, and also have early travel and blast powers for hunts.
Don't forget though with second builds you can make a solo/badger build (with extra travel or range attacks) and save your hunts/explore for later on when it would be easier. -
People do it all the time, they even re-roll the same power-sets. That's what makes this game fun you can try out all kinds of alts and if you have a good imagination you can use a lot of powers as stand ins for ones that don't exist in game yet.
-
I have them on my my main but if you need any fillers I can help out, but don't want to take a space of someone who needs it. Just set up a time, or can help out after the Mo runs on Friday.
-
Yep saw the new list and was disappointed yet again. The TV respec is so slow and Numina is slow and really bad for xp from the hunts.
I don't know why they just don't have 3-4 WST each week. Two per side or 1 per side and 1 co-op. That way you can have 1 be lower level for those wanting XP and merits, and the other one being a higher level like STF, shard tf, etc.
If nothing how about using some other TF's, the Sutter/Kal should be on there every month since it has such a large level participation range. -
I am not a big fan of some of the new master badges for the I-trials. It is fun trying to get a league together and figuring out what works, but after so many tries it just gets silly. Then you also have people who cant play the game much during those first few weeks when most badgers are going for the new badges and they get left out.
It is downright hard to try and get enough people to try for the badge after most badgers have them. The big problem is some of the new badges take well informed players to get them you just cant grab a few folks and give some info and get the badge easily. Especially with so many in a hurry no one wants to slow down a trial and work on a badge when normally you can just go smash and its over.
I would have no issue with these crazy badges if they would let you form a trial with as few people as you want. That way you could just run in with a few players and get the badges you need. I don't think this would be a big deal since there have been many who have dou'd and solo'd TF's, if my wife and me have dou'd almost every TF in the game I'm sure others can easily as well. -
Perma dom is the way to go and its also one of the reasons to max out a dom.
It really isn't that hard to get to the S/L softcap if you take frozen armor, weave, CJ, Maneuvers and a steadfast with basic slotting you can get to 35. All my doms have been permadom and softcapped. -
Lil Bug here I will be there as well.
A suggestion is we may need an extra Tank outside to keep Mal busy so the 4 can work on the Telepaths. Also people still don't know that all you have to do is pull all the guards to the center then you can kill the techs. We should have 2 people to be tech killers and make sure they are taken out quicker. -
Another thing to add is Sinestro's daughter Soranik Natu is a surgeon and uses her ring to save lives. Shes able to make complex medical devices and I have seen IV bags, so there is some form of a liquid she makes up to keep people alive.
Even though Allan Scott (Green Lantern 1) gets his power for his ring from the Star heart he has assisted Dr. Midnight with surgery's as well, and again I would assume that would require IV/some sort of blood for transfusions. -
Fearsome stare is one on the best powers in Dark Miasma also in the top powers in the game. Not only can it lock down a large group but it has a very nice -tohit along with, usually slot for -tohit as well. That along with darkest night is why you can safely "tank" as a dark defender, corr or MM.

There are a lot of things you could do, some may use others may never use, but would allow a person to something crazy hard, get over a hurdle, help a team out or others, especially if they are cheap enough.
Long range teleport, mission teleport, team tp, other travel powers, or even temp stealth these would be great if you are a lowbie or even at higher level doing a shard TF.
Buffs, these could be simple ones to help accuracy at lower levels or a defense buff to help out at higher ones, you can always put a cool down effect if needed.
Debuffs as well leading a team or solo and suddenly you have a AV, temp debuffs would work great.
Anything like bonus rewards like XP, or drops.
Temp attack powers or even summon helpers. Let us able to stack temp powers as well as long as its not game breaking, but if I want 500 charges on a sword/gun power so I can have a gun/sword hero I can.
So these things could make someone over powerful, but as long as its not to crazy high or abused would be pretty nice. -
Count me in on my brute Lil Bug

There are a bunch of younger actress that had wholesome TV/movie roles who decided to break out in a few adult roles. Already mentioned Elizabeth Berkly is one but there are a few more.
Alyssa Milano went from who's the boss to movies like Embrace the Vampire and Poison Ivy 2 along with some others.
Drew Barrymore did poison Ivy and some other adult roles along with Playboy.
There are more I'm sure of but its early. -
Also look at electric armor tier 9, blasters, and masterminds can also almost get the same power. Electric armor has the EMP pulse attached to it though.
I do think that any power in a primary or secondary powerset that is available in a pool power should have something to make it stronger or offset it from the pool version. This would include hibernation and any revive that's lacking (Regen) -
Dark melee would be a great choice for single target damage on a brute, works great with fury. Also is a really nice set with procs in it. It pairs up well with most sets, really works great for sets that don't have a heal or can use the extra -tohit for survival.
I really like to pair up single target sets with a damage aura, especially on brutes. It will help you keep agro and fury, let you switch targets for your attacks and let your damage aura take out what ever health they have left. Of course that only leaves fire, electric, dark and stone has a lower one. I had a dark/fire awhile back was pretty fun, I will probably roll up a dark melee again someday. -
I always start slotting Io set bonus early, especially around 30's if its for survival.
With you being Invul then some of the main set bonus you will want for survival cap at 35 and 30 anyway (kinetic combat, eradication, steadfast)
I really like having my toons slotted up around 32, if at 50 I really decide that I like this toon then I will usually respec and replace lower level Io's if I want to and store the lower IO's in my base for my next toon.
This also works for changing up some builds, my current /energy brute is using alot of kinetic combats early on to softcap S/l. My level 50 build lets me shift around quite a bit to replace those Kinetic combats with recharge sets and still be softcapped.
When you are selecting a IO, hover your mouse over the IO, then you can type in whatever level you want, if its too high a range for that IO it will default to the max level. Then click on that IO and it will set it at that level -
I liked my stone tank over my stone brute, mostly because it was much easier to cap defense and resists and let me focus on recharge.
One way to get over the damage penalty is go with Super strength then you can have rage to get over the damage hump.
Another reason I liked my tank over brute in this instance is much easier climb to granite, and its much easier to softcap your other armors when not in granite on a tank. My stone tank is at the S/L softcap and close on energy/neg outside of granite. -
Some other sets I would like to see.
Street type fighting for blasters secondary not as flashy and strong but perfect for natural types.
A gun + sword melee set, put some limitation on the gun so as not to overbalance the set.
being able to combine range sets for different element attacks would be cool, having 1 fire, ice, electric blast.
More customization in the sets so you could make them look more magical or even cosmic.
Animal trait power sets would be cool, not changing shape, something like powers that Animal Man or Vixen has. Melee set getting a claw attack, spit venom, and rhino charge. Along with something like elephant hide, fast reflexes or even a built in travel power for flight or speed. -
I will be there on Lil Bug and I agree the less that can follow simple instructions the better. Had a few last week who didn't understand don't attack Antimatter.
