If you were to start a new badger...
The only difference the AT has made to my efforts at badging has been when there was a specific badge I was after and there weren't enough friends online to help me out.
For example, the AVs in Recluse's Victory. Obviously, even with a heavy, most toons would have a pretty tough time tackling one or more of the AVs (or the Phalanx heroes, depending on alignment) solo. But, I'm inclined to think with a heavy, and an HVAS pet from rwz and a shivan, an ill/rad with perma PA might have a chance, properly played. It would, of course require a good bit of knowledge as to what to expect from the AVs, and be able to defend yourself from would be rep-seekers who have every right to ruin your good clean fun. But, one could argue this would either be doable with any toon, or undoable regardless of toon.
That being said, for badging purposes, I'd go with a tri-form kheldian. When certain badge farm teams form, the leader is looking for balance. Not too many of one AT. Because a lot of players only seriously badge hunt with one toon, switching can be a sore spot for some players. One can argue that a kheld doesn't really do anything better than another AT, but it can do a lot of different things, played well.
The main reason I'd recommend the kheld is that some defeat badges may require higher resistance/defense than your average blaster/defender might have. And the kheld can adapt to just about any tactic.
Just my opinion, though.

@Ukase
I would say go with whatever you want to be your main to be and have the most fun playing them since you will be spending a ton of time on them anyway.
That being said you will want something that's pretty solo friendly unless you have a group to play with for all the missions and flashbacks. The high end TF's are not that picky on whats needed so any would work there.
Kheldians would be a good choice to fit any role, they solo well, and also have early travel and blast powers for hunts.
Don't forget though with second builds you can make a solo/badger build (with extra travel or range attacks) and save your hunts/explore for later on when it would be easier.
Freedom Server - Main = Lil Bug & way too many alts to list
Thanks for your answers! The AT is not a problem, I like most of them, Im just trying to find a powerset combo that "clicks" me to say "I want to play this character more and more and more and.." you get me :P
I was asking about other stuff. You gave me a good idea (keep a bunch of temp powers or second utility build). How do you keep trace of your badges? I only have VidiotMaps installed. I also installed HeroStats, but barely use it.
Thanks!
Some use CoH Titan and others use Badge-hunters.

Both have their pros and cons.
Some use both.
There may even be a way to use the pop menu to assist in tracking. I seem to recall a vague memory of seeing someone post about it.
As for powersets - maybe instead of focusing on badging right now, try a few different powersets and see what you like most.
I've found ice/ice and fire/fire to be very enjoyable for blasters.
I like my kat/invuln scrapper and my fire/fire brute as well.
The ill/rad troller, I have found is easily the solo-friendliest squishy I've got. But, spamming PA every 59 seconds is annoying.
But you are different than me - all of us are different. Try them all, see what you like.

@Ukase
First off good luck with your endeavour!
Ukaserex was right that most people use those websites to help keep track of your progress. Both websites are quite helpful.
The only badges I found I needed to keep track of on spreadsheets were history and crafting badges. A progress bar appears for each but if you need to halt progress for any reason it's nice to make note of where you left off and the websites (from what i've seen) can't help you with partial completetions of those badges.
Some use CoH Titan and others use Badge-hunters.

Small program, works nicely, CiT's website interface is nice too.

I would never ever ever apon never ever ever
my equaion is this
1,000,000,000 x 109882766756494
on the chances of me making a badge toon
good luck though
If you want to have a badger with all the badges; make whichever toon you want a Praetorian...right now neither Villains nor Heroes can get all the badges.
But like the others have said, get a toon that clicks for you and use it. Most of the "hard" badges have been "nerfed" (like the healing ones or damage taken, etc....) so it's not that hard to get it on a non-healing/empathy toon/etc...

I will have a look at the Titan Sentinel + city info! Thanks!
BTW, why is that of the praetorian character? Im guessing there are also badges that a praetorian cannot get and a primal can?

But if you wanted to get a bit picky about it there are 7 badges a Praetorian character can never get: Celebrant, Reveler, Pursuer/Elusive, Merrymaker, Entertainer, Jubilant and Exultant.
So while a Praetorian badge character started today could have more badges than a Primal badge character started today a Hero character started before May 2005 (the first anniversary of the game) will always be able to have more badges than anyone else.

Oh and you might want to create this badger on a popular server. Seems odd to say but many badges require teaming and if you're on a quiet server this might propose a bit of a hang up for you.
If I were to start a new badger toon, I would do it in a different game.
Badging is much better than it used to be but if you start new from scratch you can't complete now. If you are willing to live with getting just the possible badges, that is still a task that is years away from completion and gets further away with new issues.
If I were going to start a new badger, I'd make it a honey badger, because honey badger don't give a <expletive>.

What would you do? What have you learned in this time as a badger that can be useful for new badgers? How to get track of the badges?
I'm asking this because I really want to start a badger. Probably once I find a character I could call my main :P But The task seems so underwhelming that I need some advice on how to do it.
I know they key is Patience, I dont aim to reach 1k badges in 2 months, probably not in 1 year
(Even though my join date is 2005, I stopped playing around I7 and just came back with Freedom launch...I've been trying to find a main character until now, and I'm still undecided lol)
