Interesting...
I had a similar thing happen to me yesterday. I thought I was doing something wrong so I didn't give it much time.
I was running an Ouro arc that had Family in it (lvl 29). Once I realized the mob type I reset the mission (logging off and back on) to x8 to get the bosses. I would guess there was approximately 30 bosses in the map but I only got credit for about 6 of them.
Anyway I'll try it again tonight and petition if necessary. I'm not on my gaming computer so I don't have the Ouro mission name otherwise I'd share it. -

Back in the day you could have someone taunt the whole map into one spot, fire off a Nova and they were all dead. Back in the day..a crash afterward was worth the cost of being able to kill so many targets.
Fast forward to today and you're capped at 10 targets. Now the crash isn't looking so hot. Many of my respec's are now removing Nova, Inferno choices because its just a waste of slots. Not to mention the addition of Judgment powers.
I like the idea of crashless Nukes, it'll help put blasters back on the market as a desired AT for any team. -
Good runs last night everyone! Nice leading Ara!
I found the Incandecense Destiny to be handy but not as effective as I envisioned. I think the biggest reason why was because we were on Skype. That's not to say I don't think it's a good idea to have someone slot Incandesence, more that I'm tipping my hat to the advantage Skype brings. Hence why I slotted Rebirth on the second run to help out those poor "DIS!" folks.
Call me anytime for a "Mo" run, I'm sure I can find a badger for it, got 10 afterall. :P -
I'm in the process of respec'ing my blaster that is actually focused on ranged damage and ranged defence.
The power combo is AR/Eng
The highlights of the toon are:
Ranged Def: 42%
Recharge: 174%
Full Auto recharge: 16s (with boost range - 127ft)
LRM Rocket recharge: 65s (with boost range - 240ft)
Judgment choice: Cryonic Radial Final (range 120ft)
Boost Range recharge: 18s
Alpha choice: Musculature Core Paragon (MOAR damage)
Interface choice: Reactive Radial Flawless (MOAR damage)
I equipped the toon with a full set of ATO (all catalyzed) which provides another 10% boost to range. So actually the above values are slightly higher than what I've posted but don't have Mids to support it just yet.
Basically with those ranged bombs you thin the mob so much that by the time they come near you there's usually only a single boss (maybe two if you're soloing x8) and they have 15% health left which is no problem for any of your remaining attacks. The recharge for Full Auto is quick enough that once you've cleaned up the mob its ready for the next fight.
I've played AR/Eng for a long time and I think it's a fun and very effective blaster. The above stats are from my most recent respec which is still in progress and haven't fully enjoyed just yet.
Oh for reference here are the stats from the ATO set that'll account for the missing numbers in the Mids build.
- Two enhancements improves the Accuracy of all your powers by 15%.
- Three enhancements improves the Range of all your powers by 10%.
- Four enhancements improves the Damage of all your powers by 4%.
- Five enhancements improves the Recharge of all your powers by 10%.
- Six enhancements increases Ranged Defense by 5%.
- Six enhancements increases Energy and Negative Energy Defense by 2.52%.

Maybe try windfall a couple more times to see how effective it is. That single event you posted might have been the worst possible outcome. You posted a couple of non-windfall runs to round out your numbers but only one windfall run. It’s hard to make a conclusion off one event.
I've used Windfall but only on solo content so as to reap all the rewards. To echo DreadShinobi's comments the drop rate was so much that I filled up on one run through the map. I was able to clear the map 3.5 times within the hour. You get the idea how much I accumulated in that time.
One of the things that slowed me down was deleting all the temporary recipe drops like Raptor Pack, Power Analyzer etc…, but I was able to get a ton of rare salvage, quite a few rare recipes and tons of uncommon recipes. I didn’t get a purple drop but to be honest I was hopeful but not expecting one.
If I was to use windfall 5 times farming a mission I bet I’d have so much stuff I wouldn’t know what to do with it. Come to think of it, I am going to try that one day and tally the rewards. J -
Captains log: star date um...winter time 2012.
The spring fling has arrived providing a nice amount of badges for me to cultivate. I hadnt got any of the skiing badges either so this was welcomed. As it stands I'm almost done the IO badges for all toons except Time Fracture and Diabolic Imp. But anyway updated badge count:
Jareth - 709
Celestial Might - 768
Ultracold Burn - 711
Spirit of Shiv - 627
Arachnos Automaton - 921
Chaotikus - 678
Odinator - 753
Diabolic Imp - 721
PPD Bionics - 654
Time Fracture - 639 -
Alright, it's been almost 20 days. I've had to break from the grind and enjoy gameplay with friends but as it is I'm happy with the progress so far. As it stands I'm just beginning the IO badge phase (1 toon complete).
Updated badge count:
Jareth - 646 badges
Celestial Might - 746 badges
Ultracold Burn - 696 badges
Spirit of Shiv - 547 badges
Arachnos Automaton - 901 badges
Chaotikus - 606 badges
Odinator - 689 badges
Diabolic Imp - 655 badges
PPD Bionics - 639 badges
Time Fracture - 626 badges -
Quote:I like. I'd also pay 2 E. Merits to unlock too, or some sort of way to earn the use of it.
Upon Statesman death part of his Incarnate power is released from his body back into the world (universe, etc).
At a later date (i23?) other Incarnate beings feel this power and can attune themselves to it (2 E.Merits??) allowing them to harness and use the Fist of Statesman instead of their current Judgement power. -
Oh and you might want to create this badger on a popular server. Seems odd to say but many badges require teaming and if you're on a quiet server this might propose a bit of a hang up for you.
-
First off good luck with your endeavour!
Ukaserex was right that most people use those websites to help keep track of your progress. Both websites are quite helpful.
The only badges I found I needed to keep track of on spreadsheets were history and crafting badges. A progress bar appears for each but if you need to halt progress for any reason it's nice to make note of where you left off and the websites (from what i've seen) can't help you with partial completetions of those badges. -
Ya just watched the video.
So that attack is called Zeus' Lightning. That's the attack I'd like to see ported over to the Judgment attack.
It looks awesome! -
tried the link. doesnt work.
are you saying there's an alternate animation for void judgment that looks like Statesman's Hammer of Justice? -
So we're killing off Statesman.
I was reading the post about the new SSA, it discussed the decisions behind it and so on..then I reminisced about the few times I teamed with Statesman.
I am referring to the good ol Maria Jenkins arc Heros Hero. During this arc youre trying to rescue Statesman from capture. My favourite mission is the last one. You face Tyrant, defeat him and release Statesman from capture. What I like to do for this mission is ghost to the end release the big guy and then clear the map! There are many times where I wont lay a finger on the mob but instead just lure Statesman close to watch him lay waste to the mobs and just enjoy the show.
Of course doing this I noticed theres one attack that he has that Id LOVE to see as an option for a Judgment power. I think its called Hammer of Justice (not sure) but its the one where he slows his animation slightly and then punches the ground sending cracks all around. It has a great sound effect, great animations (electricity highlights) and is an awesome PBAoe strike.
I just think itd be a nice tribute to him, and would go great with my melee toons.I know we currently have an alternative animation to Footstomp that mimics this attack but to make it a Judgment selection would be epic in my mind. I know Id replace many of my current Judgment selections with this one if it came out.
Food for thought? -
I would say the speed of the team and whether they face AVs will dictate the tankers need for taunt.
I’ve seen some impressive displays of ‘tanking’ where the tanker simply stays ahead of the group. He/she darts ahead to absorb alpha strike as well as herd the mob into a smaller, tighter group. They don’t usually stick around to clean up the scraps of the battle but instead, run ahead to prepare the next mob for destruction. This is usually a steam roll type team and I don’t think the power taunt is essential to ensure this scenario plays out, but it does help.
In the event your team/task force runs into AVs it would be much nicer if the tank had taunt, in fact it could almost be the difference between success and fail of the team (depending on team strength of course). When I think of task forces like STF, LRSF, ITF, LGTF or Kahn a tank/brute with taunt plays a huge role of keeping the team alive (during the AV battles).
Personally I think taunt is a great power, and just so happens that Perfect Zinger and Mocking Beratement have great set bonuses. Essential power? No. Helpful power? Absolutely. -
Quote:Agreed Forbin, and the devs have probably discussed the sensitivity of such a change. Fair enough don't take anything away from the current system, but instead add other means of obtaining the VR stuff (only thing that seems to drive prices and need for buying influence). By having more options and means of obtaining those shinies you reduce the demand and value of influence. Going forward you won't need 8 billion because you have other means (merits, threads ...what have you..) of getting those otherwise unattainable items. If they had done this from the get go things would be different. However they didn't and now they have to give serious thought to how the player base would negatively react to such drastic changes. I garuntee you that there would be a ot of people quitting the game because they perceived the changes as "ripping them off" because they think all the influence they've spent on IO's actually has some intrinsic value.
Heck people even do that with Prestige that's been earned for an SG. They assume it belongs to them and they get quite irate about losing it even tho it belongs to the SG and not them.
i think the last hurdle has been crossed and that is the solo incarnate content. with this addition anyone regardless of playstyle (team friendly person or solo person) can earn valuable - account bound - points that they can use to spend on VR items. This will make it harder for people to ask for real money for influence. I think.. -
Quote:heh, good to hear you're liking EM. Most people on this thread do .... or did. Funny that you ended your statement with a request to shorten the animation of ET and TF. Um, that's the biggest reason why this thread exists. If they do make changes, I'd hope they would shorten the activation time on ET and TF. They are a bit long in my opinion.
As for changes to Energy Melee, looks like nothing has been listed for the upcoming issue 22. It was losely mentioned during a podcast that they'll do 'something cool' to EM but it might not happen in time for i22.
I can be patient. I have lots of other toons to use and can take peace of mind that they'll circle back to this power eventually. Maybe before summer? -
Raise the cap????
how about make PVP IOs more accessible? put them on the reward merit vendor list.
or, wait a short while, once issue 22 is released you'll get yet another means to earn Empryean Merit and oh lookie, you can buy PVP IOs with those
Give me more ways to obtain my Glad proc what are the odds i spend 2.5billion to buy yours? -
Great posts. Have to admit the 'other' thread loaded with negatives was..depressing.
i love how they've upped the difficulty - hell sometimes i actually have to move around to stay alive!
i love the new characters introduced
i love the new choice of powers
i love the idea of 24 person teams
i love how great teamwork is encouraged and usually results in victory!
because of the itrials ive met many great players *salutes you all* -
Ah there it is. Thanks Blue
"Energy Melee is being looked at"....it's not much. But it's a start! :P -
I see this statement mentioned often: “you’ll never get rid of it”. IMO focusing on the route cause and not the symptom gets you closer to ridding the game of these companies that sell influence. I have a lose idea of how you can do it. Like I posted earlier reduce the markets place in the game. Right now everything and anything is sold on the market. What if we increased the competition? What if we increased the capacity of the Merit vendors?
Merits cannot be traded. Incarante awards cannot be traded.
First, expand the options listed at Reward Merit, A-Merit, Astral Merit and Emp Merit vendors to all recipes and all salvage. Maybe you can add conversions of one type of merit to another. The devs can scale how much each item will sell for.
Next, bind all recipe drops to the account. What the??? You serious?? …hear me out. Base this on the Incarnate system where you can upgrade, downgrade, sidegrade or convert when necessary. In addition you can do the same for enhancements and salvage. The devs can apply the same type of conversion factors where you get diminishing returns but at least you can get exactly what you want. Refer to incarnate conversions for this idea.
Next, increase content that allows you to earn these types of merits. Looks like they're doing that with the new Dark Astoria so that's a definite step in the right direction but really why not open that reward system up to the entire game? This’ll reduce grinding a specific area.
In a smaller scale this model is already in place with the incarnate system. It works and everyone is happy. Take the principles of this model and apply it to the rest of the game.
Sounds like they’re kinda doing this already if you think about it… didn’t I hear something about recipe converters coming in issue 22? In the last couple of months haven’t we already added Astral and Emp Merit vendors that allow you to buy VR stuff and costume pieces? Yep, just keep going on this path and you’ll have access to everything and won’t need to buy 2billion influence with real money to obtain it.
Or is this just crazy talk? :P -
I wonder if its related to the TPN issue?
Last night i was on that trial and got "kicked" to the load screen of the game. Each time i tried to log back in on that same character it said "Kicked: error code.."
After eventually getting back on I see the whole league got booted with some people complaining that this wasn't the first time.
Just a note, I have a new comp that never lags and I never drop from anything so I'm guessing something is up. -
Quote:I made this similar point in another thread. It turns out the ability to increase mob size was added to the game around the same time the nerf was applied to energy. Double whammy.
Oh my, how things have changed. I still remember the old day when EM was so popular. AoE damage wasn't as important because we couldn't change game setting from 1 player to 8 players without actually having 8 people on the team.
I honestly think returning all old settings to Energy would make everyone who has a parked toon happy, and I don't think anyone 'not' playing Energy would be envious. Farm from actually, I mean jeez my 'troller has a nova now (Judgment) for goodness sake. Sounds like an easier fix than most, just undo what you did.
I've been monitoring the forums on Energy melee for a bit now, even mentioned it in game and heard that "they" might be looking into fixing Energy melee. Has anyone heard who said this and where I may read up on it? I guess it's possible it might have been said on a Ustream channel instead of the forums?
Any help pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated. -
Interesting thread, just thinking about what attracts gold farmers. I guess they figured theres a need for a lot of influence. Only feature in this game that requires a lot of influence is the market.
So, lets look at the market and make steps to decrease its impact on the game ala account bound items. This would of course require access to all IO related content for all players, but then they could somehow earn it.
Now you wouldnt need money to make the world go round, just need to play the game.
Something like that anyway... -
Quote:Easy solution here. Form your own team.I just did the ITF for the first time in years. It was simply stupid.
Every character simply ignored the foes and ran through the missions past them, taking out only the ones they needed to. There was no challenge to it. 90% of the foes may as well not have been there.
Is the rest of the high level this stupid now? -
This is as much for my own records as it is for sharing with others. I'll look back on this to see how much time it took. Most of my toons have a good amount of badges so that helps with this quest.
Jareth - 645 badges
Celestial Might - 745 badges
Ultracold Burn - 640 badges
Spirit of Shiv - 456 badges
Arachnos Automaton - 616 badges
Chaotikus - 357 badges
Odinator - 529 badges
Diabolic Imp - 307 badges
PPD Bionics - 519 badges
Time Fracture - 243 badges
Lots to do! I'm off and runnin'!
