    KM/SD Guide?

If you want a guide before playing a KM/SD, come back in like a month.
  2. Meh. I'm glad you're so easily entertained. I preferred shield charge the way it's been for the last year.
  3. With they would do something like this.
  4. The usual stupid, messy, post-issue nerf.
  5. The devs don't seem to want masterminds to have any female minions for some reason related to possible abuse, as I recall being mentioned a while ago. But strapping, sweaty, ethnic-looking men following dutifully after spike-heeled leatherclad mistresses is fine.
  6. This would be a great option. Not all of us want the glowiness. Those that do can keep it.
  7. With the advent of I16 the devs will have the capability to give us alternate animations, which is incredibly cool.

Well. I can think of one set that could use it, and for which the animations will be pretty easy, if not done already.

I've been told that before Assault Rifle went with the 'Uber Gun of Doom', you would pull out a shotgun when using Beanbag or Solid Shot, and when you wanted to snipe someone, you would use a sniper gun. Or a flamethrower for flamethrower Ignite, etc.

Personally, I don't mind weapon draw and I think that would be extremely awesome to have those old animations back. Especially since even with the ability to choose different weapons, it still doesn't make sense to be shooting flames or beanbags with an M-16 or sniper rifle.

Just for an example: Consider the Comedian in Watchman, who quite happily carries around several weapons at once, such as when dispersing the crowd with a shotgun and grenade launcher, or pulling out the flamethrower in Nam.

Is there anyone else who feels the same way?

Also. You don't need to post about how you hate weapon draw. With alternative animations possible, that's a non-issue. It also seems, given the sheer wealth of animations along these lines already available (and supposedly already done at one time) that it should be much easier.

I can't wait to bring my Elec/Regen Scrapper into PvP. Might even strip my purped out the wazoo Fire/Regen to put him there.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Why? So you can get wtfpwned every time you turn around? The melee AT version of ElM is horrific for ST damage, just about the worst there is. No burst, no ST chain, no nothing. It's average in AoE, so if you really like the set you can make a passable farmer with it, but forget AVs and don't even think about trying to kill other players with it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You're over exaggerating a bit. It's better than Spines, and people supposedly have fun with that.
  9. Now we just need Martial Arts and Regeneration...

It reads: "...each will receive an alternate animation for their powers." To me, that sounds like one alternate animation for each power, excluding maybe Taunt.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Exactly how I took it, as well.

    [/ QUOTE ]

There will not be an alternate animation for every power, but the potential to add new animations or even plug in existing animations that work for the power is there.

Right now we have an alternate animation for Jab, Punch, Haymaker, Foot Stomp, and Knockout Blow that are intended for players who want to play a more 'heroic' super strength character (compared to the somewhat smashy super strength that we have now). Most of those are completely new animations.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm so happy to hear this.
  11. I consider the best part about WP, to be stacking Health and Stamina onto it.

    I so despise this badge.

What the hell kind of sense does it make to give a badge for an accolade that is pretty much a must-have, where you have to get sadomasochistically abused all night to receive.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Be glad you aren't going for the Immortal Badge.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They should call that badge 'Venus in Furs'.

The issue isn't the clipping with robotic arms, it's the textures no longer matching.

The clipping problem is that it now clips through itself ever since that new plate was added under the large one on the right side.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    The issue is both.

The weapon models are effects, not polygonal additions.

[/ QUOTE ]I don't know how you came to that conclusion, since it's not true.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    O rly?

The weapons are just effects. Yes they are technically made of polygons, but they exist no more than flaming hands do. You cannot drop your weapon.

    Sledge Hammer WEAPONS/Custom_Mace/Male_Mace_Sledgehammer01.fx

It is an effect drawn on top of your character model, not an independant object added to game.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    True story.

When I was first playing around with customizable weapons, I at one point had it so the weapon could be dropped into the world, as a physics geo, whenever you died. Unfortunately, there's no way of getting said physics geos to inherit the color tinting, so I scrapped the whole thing.

Custom weapons are technically costume pieces, and FX scripts, animated entities, and also geometry. Some of them also have particles.

So everyone's right...except for you *points to that one guy*

And no, scabbards, holsters, quivers, etc are not simple or quick to do for reasons that I don't care to get into right now. Yes, I know...everyone in game wants them, has been demanding them for years, and there's undoubtedly some other game already out or coming out that had them.

I think that about covers everything.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What about just making tight pants with thigh holsters or straps available like what Longbow wears? =(
  16. For heroes, it is Blue Steel, easily.

    For villains...Huntsman Ohanko.

First off, how many billions are you willing to spend? Massively purpled out builds almost come off as joke builds to me because most players will never have their character to that state. It's honestly hard to take these builds seriously.

Also, word of advice, just throwing sets into powers because they happen to fit is a terrible way to plan builds. Your slotting of Gravitational Anchor on Midnight's Grasp is particularly bad - your heaviest hitting damaging attack gets no damage enhancement! And the performance shifter +end in dark consumption does almost nothing except provide you with AoE def set bonus.

If you want guidance, then post something more realistic. Anybody can throw together a dream build with lots of purples. Further, a build that is far cheaper and has soft capped defenses (yours isn't) would be much more effective at a fraction of the cost.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    This.

I would greatly appreciate any insight you guys might have to give! This is my first attempt at a brute, and I am trying to beef up on some healing, defense, while maintaining some rp boundaries! Thanks in advance! (P.S. Made this in another section but was advised to post it here)

I'd say Dark Melee. Fear, To-Hit Debuffs, Immob, quick animations minus SM and good damage.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Eh. The quick animations actually hurts damage in PvP, and most are stacked with enough accuracy to make the brief To-Hit buff you might land, to be worthless. And it is hard to land a bunch of little hits.

Not sure how Fears and Siphon Life works these days, and Midnight Grasp might do decent damage...a PvPer will have to chime in.

In my experience, the best PvP I've seen Brutes put out, has been throwing rocks and sharks at people...

It's not crossdressing. Female costume options are not being ported to males, nor vice versa.

    IBTD.

    [/ QUOTE ]

But it is cross dressing. When ppl do drag they do there clothes and makeup to match. most men that cross dress actually look like females. They dont look like hairy men in a women's dress. Take the muary show, on numerous times they have brought ppl on the show that do drag and most the ppl in the audaince cant tell if they are really a male or female. Same thing you have here.

You sound like maybe, you have some issues to work through about your feelings towards transgender stuff, that is perhaps best not explored on a public board.
  24. Howdy,

I am posting this for a friend.

They have windows vista, and have the following problem:

Normally, when I click on my CoH icon, a small pale blue bar with white text that says "Loading" comes up in the center of my screen. Then after that, when it works, a box comes up with check files, etc. Now, when I click my link, I get the "loading" message, and then "unable to locate cohupdater". And it's there, because I'm in the CoH folder, clicking directly on the executable file.

It sounds to me like something got corrupted somehow, and needs a reinstalling. But has anyone else experienced this or knows another way to fix it?

    Thanks.
  25. Katana/Regen, if you can manage like 20% defense, is stupidly fun.
