LVL 25 Katana Regen

This is my first attempt at a Regen Scrapper, and I am not very good at slotting, I know some of my enhancements are wierd, mainly based on availability so they are a little strange, also I know I have basically 0 defnce right now, which means my Scrapper is slighly squishy, but I have done a good job of killing everything before I get killed, I mainly solo and I havent increased the difficulty yet because I am like I said a little fragile defensively.

So please critique and tell me what to fix, though I only have like 10 mil left on this toon to spend and I am half a bar from level 26/ also I have respecs available so I can respec if this is just a horrible build, thanks in advance for any tips or help

Ok..... I need a drink before I start..... Ok, now that I've calmed down, I'm going to ask one question. Why don't you have reconstruction and dull pain? I'm surprised you got to 25. I give you props for getting that far. I got to 14 without dull pain before I deleted my dark/regen and started all over. But yeah. You NEED those two click powers. They will be your best friends till the end. Cascading def, lucky shots, burst dmg. None of that matters when you have two powers that give it all back. Just watch out for rads, cold dom corruptors, and poison MMs if you ever pvp are run someone's sick a twisted /regen hatin AE story arc.

lol, yeah I am not suprised I chose poorly, I really like the character but I do have a lot of face plants, I am reading some of the old guides now trying to learn about this toon better, and this toon sat at 14 for a year and I just picked it back up a couple months ago, and it took that long to get to 25 so I know she is leveling REALLY slow

dull pain increases your HP I understand but wasnt sure when to take it and Reconstruction I thought was just a self heal, which I usually have a couple greens with me so never really needed either of those, plus my lil bro has a healer that he tags along with me often, so I chose not to take either, but I have been soloing alot more lately so I guess they need to be chosen, but what do I drop?

Drop the fitness pool and resilience for now. Some argue that you don't need the fitness pool at all. I'm not one of those people. You just don't need it right now as far as whole getting stamina at level 20 and having it 3 slotted to be ready for SOs at 22 song and dance go. You should get recon and dull pain the moment they become open. Greens over recon? It should be greens and recon. Greens run out. Recon recharges. You can take resilience even later. Its cool to be able to use a wakie and not be stunned by it but as long as you have integration, you won't really need it in normal game play. And if you take it later, you don't need to put any slots in it. The res % is laughable but good place to put the res/def IO.

Here's my basic boilerplate for the Regen secondary:

“There are definitely other approaches, but here's what I'd consider a basic plan for the Regeneration secondary using SOs or common IOs:

- Fast Healing at 1, 3 heals
- Reconstruction nice and early, 3 heals, 3 recharges
- Quick Recovery nice and early, 1 endurance modifier at first, add 1 or 2 more as necessary
- Dull Pain when or shortly after when available, as there is a lot to squeeze in at that level, 3 heals, 3 recharges
- Integration at 16, 3 heals, possibly 1 endurance reducer
- Resilience when and if you can work it in, 1 resist
- Instant Healing when or shortly after when available, 1-3 recharges, no heals unless you're swimming in slots
- Skip Revive
- Moment of Glory when or shortly after when available, 1-3 recharges
- Hasten when convenient, 3 recharges
- Health when convenient, 3 heals
- Tough when convenient, 3 resists, 1 endurance reducer
- Stamina if and when you start having endurance trouble, which may not be until 30 or later, 1 endurance modifier at first, add 1 or 2 more as necessary

If it were me, I'd also try to get some basic defense, but it will use up even more power and pool choices. Combat Jumping or Hover, but don't worry about slotting for defense. Weave with 3 defense. Maneuvers with 3 defense. The Steadfast Protection unique in Resilience or Tough. With even-level SOs, that will give you 14.3% defense to all. Not great, but not bad.

The astute observer will notice that I've now recommended 5 power pools – Leaping or Flight, Fitness, Fighting, Leadership and Speed. You can't have everything, so you'll need to make some choices. I dropped Speed, using IO set bonuses and my primary (Katana) to drastically improve my defense. Most people should probably drop Leadership instead. You'll probably find Hasten more useful than Maneuvers.”

Katana/Regen, if you can manage like 20% defense, is stupidly fun.

Does Resilience's Smash/Lethal resist really help that much? I know on mine (MA/Regen/Body) I ended up skipping it, and never really felt I was missing it. I did pick up Revive instead to recover from the occasional faceplant caused by horribly massive amounts of -recharge and spike damage. *Remembers one spawn of about 8 Crey Cryo Tanks, and an Energy PP.* Watching your recharge bonus bottom out is very heartbreaking.

I'd say Resilience is worth having, but it's not huge. That's why I recommend it “when and if you can work it in”, and don't suggest slotting it out. Well, slot it out if you have the slots, but there are probably better things to do with them.

I can definitely tell the difference with Tough on vs. Tough off, though.
