"No Color" Color?
I think the best we could hope to get are "less opaque" colors.

We can only hope. Hasten might enjoy a renaissance.

Many auras become nearly invisible when colored black. But I agree, there should be a "no GFX" option included in customization of particle laden powers.

Yes, please.
Being able to change Hasten, for example, into the same color as my powers would make it more tolerable -- but I'd much rather just turn off the aura or make it as opaque as possible.

I'm going to assume you meant "as transparent as possible" rather than "as opaque as possible" since the rest of your post suggest that you don't want to see Hasten's effects at all. Opaque things are "dark" or "obscuring".

I would be willing to accept all colors reset to original in PVP zones, if that's what is needed to get us clear auras/powers everywhere else.

I like the No-GFX option. Take my fire blaster for instance, instead of projecting fire it would appear as though he induces spontaneous combustion.

Wait, now I wonder what color the end-result would be or if it's tied to orignal power color pick.
Note to BaB: Add a turn off all gfx option for stuff like Super speed, jump powers, and hasten
That'd be awesome. >_>

For stuff like personal buffs - except Armors - I wholeheartedly agree. Maybe, maybe even the fist based particle effects for some of the punches (IE the pompoms).
I do not, however, want to see people running around shooting invisible blasts wearing invisible armor and casting invisible heals. Color customization is going to obscure what powers are being used around and against you plenty enough already. That's just going too far. It will take the power customization system from 'cool and cosmetic' to 'optimal settings required.'

Virtue [Heroes, Roleplay], Freedom [Villains], Exalted [All Sides, Roleplay]
I24 Proc Chance = (Enhanced Recharge + Activation Time) * (Current PPM * 1.25) / 60*(1 + .75*(.15*Radius - 0.011*Radius*(360-Arc)/30)) Single Target Radius = 0. AoE Non-Cone Arc = 360.
Disagree with Draeth - invisible armors are precisely why I want this system in the first place. It would be nice to see a renaissance of sets with notoriously ugly armors. Cold Domination comes first to mind.
The pool power coloring doesn't bother me at all, but I'd be hardpressed to see why those should be allowed a full transparency, but other things can't. For PvE, it makes no difference, and for PvP, it's going to be a mess whether the players are spewing hot pink bubbles at you or nothing at all. It's an arbitrary place to draw the line.
You can already achieve "invisible armors" in many cases with a single macro or keybind, at least when viewing your own character.
Allowing everyone to run around with actual invisible powers is...a very bad idea, game design-wise.

No, but the sentiment of wanting to always be able to see the costumes we are able to make with this game's really nice costume creator is a pretty common sentiment.

Why?
Does Wolverine glow green when he heals?
Does Professor Xavier shoot pink rays when he dominate's someone's mind?

I'm not a fan of big blocky armors, especially on my acrobatic/speedy toons. It just breaks the concept :\

Because, unlike a comic book or cartoon, a game (especially multiplayer) requires a certain amount of visual indication as a shorthand for being able to understand what's going on. Multiplayer games require substantial cues for quick reaction times, as well as to be able to understand what's going on around your character while not even looking at your character (like when you're looking at your tray for recharging powers).
Because gaming isn't a passive activity, cueing takes precedence over visual realism in terms of good gameplay, especially team (or adversarial) gameplay. For example, can you imagine PvP with no colours? Can you imagine trying to heal the Bubbler who hit PFF and it not working because you can't see their power active?
I'm fine with making powers more subtle--I'll probably do that on a number of characters--but on heavily team dependant characters, I may change colours, but wouldn't want to make things invisible. After all, I don't want my Rad 'fender being yelled at for not using AM just because no one saw it.
Take Hasten for example. I don't mind the animation, but don't want any associated color. Makes sense conceptually also with natural themed toons (e.g., */nrg blaster's melee pom poms!?). Also, can you imagine hitting someone with invisible [insert ranged attack]? PvPers would sure [insert extreme verb] it.
