Totally messed up one of my character's looks. Please bring back the old look as an option.

Thank you.

Not gonna happen, mate.

Doom.

Yep.

This is really doom.

They are hardly changed at all. Just slightly more detail in them.

How are they different at all? I didnt notice.

Here's a comparison.

I'm not sure what about the new ones would "completely ruin" a look, personally - but then again, the blurred blobs that were supposed to be bolts drove me nuts on the old ones.

oh, so when he said "ruined" he meant "made a million times better".

got it.

They're messed up on Huge models. And the textures don't match my robotic arms.

I'm trying to take a screenshot in the editor but it doesn't show up in the folder. Pasting doesn't work. What's the deal?

They look fine to me. Though I didn't look very hard, admittedly.

It's kinda like bitchin' that your crayon-scrawled sign of "4 sale buy ownr" in front of your house was replaced by a sign saying "For Sale By Owner", only slightly less exaggerated.

Here we go.

Exhibit A
Exhibit B
Exhibit Three

You can see how the right shoulder clips through itself and how the left one is too high up. Tank Armstrong looked way better with the original.

I wanted to show the saved template I have showing the old design, but apparently the creation screen is camera shy.

The textures seem fine and seem to match for the most part IMO. I can see how the clipping would get annoying though, that should definitely get fixed soon.

that has always been a problem with this game.

Not only do they add or update, but they also remove costume pieces.

Im all for updates and additions, but just cuz the devs feel like you need to George Lucas something, doesnt mean you need ot remove the original from the game. More options means more customization.

Sorry Jay, whether its your decision or not to remove items from the game, it brings down your sexiness level just a bit.

Hey there are pictures. So yeah the simple answer is they don't mesh with the robot arm as well any more which kind of stinks. The old ones had the same texture so it really covered the poor jointing on the robot arm. The new ones clip and have a different texture, so now I am sort of forced to find a new blend for the robot arm options. Valkyrie works okay, but it's symmetrical.

While I understand your pain and have had to make costume changes in the past for the same reason, please don't discourage upgraded textures. The sooner we can get rid of those blurry abominations, the better.

"Finishes" on costume pieces has never been logical and complete. That is the problem of the OP, and my constant gripe about costume pieces.

It would be nice if every costume piece had a shiny, matte, and rough finish. This would allow optimal mix-and-matching.

The low-res Gladiator shoulder has been around for ever (thus, the low resiness); way before the Imperious TF pieces were introduced. But, the ITF pieces were high-res and the old Gladiator shoulder didn't fit with the rest of the gladiator set. So, it was made high-res and given a rough finish, thus, making it no longer match with all the old legacy options which people have been using for the past five years.

The answer isn't to give us back a low-res gladiator shoulder. The answer is to update all pieces to hi-res and give all pieces the same set of finishes.

[/ QUOTE ]FWIW, you have to do Costume Creator screen shots "old school":

Hit PrtScrn as normal, then go into an image editor, paste and save. If you're using Paint, just hit Paste, and save as JPG. In Photoshop, create a new document (it'll provide dimensions to fit), Paste, Flatten, and save as JPG. (I'm afraid those are the only ones I'm familiar with.)

You got my full support on that. No doubt about it. I also would love to have three choices, matte, rough, metallic. I was just pointing out from my POV what was "Ruined" it's not unsurvivable, but gladiator was one of the few non-symmetrical shoulders and robot arm one of the few non-symmetrical body pieces, so it's a shame that they no longer go together as well.

I think the new one looks better.

Steampunk arm should have the option to match that finish...that would be awesome...
