    They're referring to the defense soft cap which is 45%. The there is no way for a blaster to approach the damage soft cap without help. Most attempts aren't really worth it. You get a little extra damage but you sacrifice slots. Just make friends with Kins and follow them around. A couple fulcrum shifts will put you at the damage cap.

    About your build, I'd recommend a more balanced approach.

    First of all the build is very expensive. I haven't checked the purples market since the new issue hit but I can't see them going down significantly in price. High level play, especially the incarnate stuff, focuses on team balance. Somebody in your party should have a bubble of some kind that can push you to the defense cap. If you're already soft capped you gain no benefit from your teammate's buff and it goes to waste. This goes for pretty much everything with two exceptions. Stealth and recovery. 50 blasters should always be in stealth. Trying to do the second phase of the Lambda trial is a nightmare. With it it's cake. As for recovery you should be constantly pressing buttons. Running out of blue bar means that you can no longer press buttons. Bad.

    Here's the build I swear by. It's more damaging than your build because it allows you to constantly cycle through it's strongest attacks while being able to maintain the 6 toggles including the aura and hot feet. All this without developing an addiction to blue inspirations. Good luck to you.

  3. Thanks to double xp weekend my Ninja/Storm should finally be able to hit 50. Here's the build I plan on. Wondering which direction to go with for Alpha. I have a lot of recovery but I'm thinking it might not be enough and might go the Cardiac route. Also she's a hero so no PPPs please. Thanks in advance.

  4. Ack. Don't listen to Scorcharina. That build is upper end and there's no way that someone two weeks in could afford it. Maybe if you're some sort of uber marketeer. Maybe.

    I'd post my build but I'm away from my work computer which has Mids on it. I have a semi-expensive but very doable build and that I'll post Monday but in the meantime here are some tips. The build gradually builds up in power and the payoff at the end is great.

    1. My recommended travel power is Super Speed which should be then paired with a Celerity +Stealth IO ASAP. This make you invisible to 95% of enemies in PvE as long as you don't attack anyone. This is invaluable both solo and on teams.

    2. Immediately after stealth I always slot Miracle +Recovery and Numina's Convalescence +Regeneration/+Recovery into Health in that order.

    Don't look at the market. The prices of ios, especially the health ones should appear pretty absurd to a new player. Instead do taskforces and buy them through Reward Merits or do tip missions and purchase them that way.

    From my experience with my blaster, Super Speed with Celerity: +Stealth is by far the most important power for a squishy when running trials. I really can't stress how important complete stealth is when anything looking at you funny means death which is the case when you first begin running trials.
  10. With SS/+Stealth I find it easier to just skip 2 or 3 objectives ahead and solo them. All groups are positioned in one direction for some reason so all you have to do is get several feet behind them, target the objective and blast away with single target ranged attacks. As long as you only target the objective the mob won't notice you. Only issue with this strategy are the patrols can wander by but you can take them out if you have enough damage.
  11. I was finally able to run an ITF after slotting the 75% DoT Reactive and damn it's sweet. My blaster runs both damage auras on top of the usual fire AoEs and it seems that the Reactive activations are always capped. The increase in overall damage is very noticable, over 15% I'd guess.

  14. Yeah. The confuse aura stacks pretty well. Accidentally killed a Controller with my Blaster.
  15. Although i20 was just released and I've yet to unlock any of the new incarnate slots I would like some advice on what would most benefit my fire/fire/force blaster which is my main. The way the new incarnate trials are set up in a way that I really should plan on which very rares I'm going to shoot for as the occasional drops will accelerate the path to very rare greatly.

    Right now I'm thinking of the following but am unsure of which of the two rares are best on some of them.

    Judgement - Pyronic Damage. I was thinking of going Ion since the damage potential is greater with a max 40 targets but I think Pyronic is the way to go because its more focused and quicker.
    Interface - Reactive ?. This is the one I'm most confused about. Could one of you mathematically advanced individuals explain which of the very rares benefits a high recharge/recovery blaster the most? I'm thinking more towards damage since as a fire blaster I can't see anything wrong with more damage but would the debuff have a greater benefit in the long run? Help please.
    Lore - Seer Support. Perma Fortitude? Yes please. I also chose Seers because I always outrun field generators and Clockwork's heal over time doesn't excite me as much as more damage. Invulnerable support because I have a hard time keeping non-tanky pets alive.
    Destiny - Barrier non-rez. More def/res? Sweet!

    Any help would be much appreciated.

  17. This toon is about to ding 50 and I've decided to have a build goal of perma-PA. I've been messing around with different set ups but nothing I've tried gets me to my goal without sacrificing basic functionality. I'd like to skip purples and PvP ios if at all possible.   18. I'm currently writing a updated guide for Fire/Fire/Force and want to include an AT overview section highlighting what to expect from each of the most popular pairings based on past experience.

    This build can run non-stop with all toggles on, is 7 seconds short of perma-hasten and has every utility ability I've ever wanted. It's pretty amazing. I too considered purpling her out but decided to make a clone on a different server and invest my influence into that.
  20. 2 things. One you're missing out on probably the 2 best powers if you want to be a damage machine which are Blazing Aura and Hot Feet. If you can sustain these two toggles on a team that can keep you upright it's pretty insane. If you're trailing a kin then it goes to a whole new level.

    Two you're gonna get gassed very quickly. I recommend at least slotting up the miracle proc.

    I've got a fire/fire/force build I think is about perfect. I don't have access to Mids right now but I'll post it when I can.
  21. I'm actually leaning towards Endurance Reduction just because it fills the holes in my fire/fire/force build while solo which are survivability and blue bar. Also it's the only one with a Paragon with 3 usable effects.

    I'm gonna make a damage and endurance and see how each one works.
  22. The first 2 ios you should slot in your blaster are the the miracle proc and the numina proc into Health. Will vastly improve the sustainability of your blaster and with hero merits only 4 days of work.

  24. You do not want to slot healing into Summon Demons. This just makes your Ember Demon wait longer to heal as it only fires off a heal when something's health goes bellow the amount it heals.

    For pets slotting I do all my Masterminds the same way.

    Blood Mandate: Acc/Dmg/End
    Blood Mandate: Acc
    Blood Mandate: Dmg

    And then with Demons I slotted Souldbound proc in Demonlings and the globals in the other 2. I'm not for slotting Prince with hold duration as the hold already lasts a long time and with char your should be good with stacking.
