Quote:Right right, that is a way to accidentally delete one, from the context menu, whichOkay, imagine that you want to combine that inspiration into something else, or pass it along to a teammate. You open that context menu. Then you feel the need to move a step to the right and press the D key... Oops, that was the menu's hotkey for "delete".
10joyQuote:No context menu came up
We can probably infer from the context of the thread that no prompt came up when he accidentally clicked delete or hit D while the context menu for the inspiration in question was open. And then he misunderstood Indiramourning's posting about the context menu. Which is why, in the half of my post you didn't quote, I saidQuote:And just off a hunch here, the context menu is the thing that comes up when right-click things in many windows-based environments. It shows up right at the cursor asking what you want to specifically do with the object you right-clicked on. -
Quote:Deleted, or used? because there's no way I know of to delete an inspiration without reaching the context menu... Left click uses one, right click opens context menu...No context menu came up, when I accidentally deleted an Inspiration that I should not have. Why not? Someone said that one did, for them, and, one used to, for me, but, for some odd reason, not any more. Why not?
And just off a hunch here, the context menu is the thing that comes up when right-click things in many windows-based environments. It shows up right at the cursor asking what you want to specifically do with the object you right-clicked on. -
Quote:Oh, you can manually edit the text file to change the results, and you may - MAY - get the load-from-file interface to show you the results. BUT if there are any conflicts (loading a costume file with a back option piece while editing a Crab Spider, for example) it will say that some items cannot be loaded. It will give you a check-box to click that omits the pieces that are in conflict, and then it applies the rest of the costume to the character. If you do not hit that check-box, you cannot proceed with loading the costume. Not that I'm the guru on ingame stuff, but from my understanding of the mechanics (and some general testing) of the costume editor everything that you change in the character file when loaded onto a character shows up exactly how edited.
This can also occur when pieces are shuffled around. All the pieces of your costume (may) still exist somewhere in the editor, but they are located somewhere else that does not mesh with what the .costume file says. The check-box will pop up, and you can load the entire costume except the conflicting parts, and then you have to manually find those bits. For example, when tails were moved from the "belts" section of upper body - any old costume files with tails will have an error on that part. you can still load the rest of the costume, but then have to go select the tail from the new location. -
Something else to consider is that while you do need 2 power picks to get weave, one of those two is likely Tough, which can help survivability on it's own, and can serve as a mule for something like steadfast protection. which can grant more defense than Combat Jumping slotted with just the LotG
ef/+recharge (depending on the AT, some get better numbers out of combat jumping than others)
-
And let's face it, even if it did sidekick them up, those 50s have more tricks and key powers up their sleeves. And if it reduced the50's to lvl 30, there's still a potential for a many more slots being invested in available powers.

Quote:>.> um... no, I get what you're trying to say here, but as long as any of the PvE rewards remain in these zones (Exploration badges, temp powers), no. I'm not arguing against those being there, and I'm not saying people should leave badge hunters alone (It's a PvP zone, it's part of the risk of the place). But if those rewards remain there, then there should be no restrictions on team size.In a nutshell, Zone PvP should only be for teams of 4 or more. A single player should not be allowed access to a PvP zone.
Otherwise people would join a pvp team, get the badge(s) or temps they came in for and then leave. Then suddenly the team is reduced to 3, or two, or one. What happens to those who remain? kicked out? Angry people. Allowed to stay? Then what was the point of requiring 4 to enter. -
Quickest would depend on what's available, if you still have access to your old computer's hard drive, copying the game folder onto the new computer (either through network filesharing, burning on to some sort of removeable media (flash drive, dvd, etc), or connecting old computer's hard drive to new computer), download the NCsoft launcher, and when it asks you where you want to download/install CoH, point it at the copied folder.
Not 100% certain on the steps involved with the NC Launcher, only dealt with that process in the initial switchover from the old updater. -
It may be a bit on the small side, but you have NO IDEA what Ms. Liberty has to put up with in order to wield it.
Wonder how many time's she's had to deal with clause 452... -
Also, just throwing this out there, as I used to work in an off-site storage company; if you're sending media off site for storage, it's a good idea to keep track of what you send.
We had one client, three times a week, sent 1-5 CD/DVDs each in a jewel case (along with standard tape backup cartridges). We dutifully labeled and stored them, until one day we ran out of shelf space for their optical media (it took over an entire 9 foot high, 5 foot wide rack).
The kicker? They didn't even know what was on those disks, never called 'em back, or ordered their destruction. We ended up charging them for another shelf. -
Depends, I believe, on what codes you have previously applied to your account. If you have already applied a city of villains code, or a CoV:CE code to your account, you cannot apply them again. But I'm not 100% on the specifics.

Dread and Rajani have it pretty much spot on.
Be active enough, and you get bumped above the 10 thread reward (Leagues successfully completing objectives can help boost individuals over this threshold)
Once you are over the participation threshold, you are at the mercy of the RNG (common, uncommon, rare, very rare). The only exceptions being some trials that have a higher chance of (or guaranteed) higher tier reward. -
Closest I can get is row1,column4 for the first colour, and row15,column9 for the second.
From there, your best bet is to use alternate animations where you want them, and colour tintable otherwise, if you want them to match.
Some powersets have an easier time matching the colours of the original than others. Dark is not one of the ones that has it easy; watching Dark Blast animate over and over in the editor, I'm seeing dark grays, purples, greens, black, and various mixtures of the above (also a sandy-yellow towards the end). There's no way we can match more than two of those. something's always going to be left out and not match as a result. -
Quote:There's a couple villain arcs that have you go there, one under the pretense of establishing a base... Things do not go well, however.I admit. Reading about the shadow shard on paragon wiki I did find it odd that arachnos didn't have any outpost there. It's very hard to believe that such an organization would ignor it. Personally I'd like to see an outpost run by the Mu mystics there for villains to go to and get missions. And a magical outpost rather then another technological outpost would make a nice change of atmosphere.
I'd be in favor of a revamp - at least get some of the new game tech in the area... like turrets and bunkers that are fully functional combat NPCs... Right now soldiers are just stuck in an animation loop firing at nothing, and turrets are entirely non-functional.
And yeah, the DR.Q TF needs a re-work. Heck, just eliminating the Simultaneous clicks would be an improvement; it would still be annoyingly long, but you wouldn't have to maintain a minimum amount of people over the course of the entire thing. -
So... rather than a vehicle travel power, A Kheldian-like powerset that turns you into something like a Sky Raiders Sky Skiff, or Longbow Chaser?
Then I doubt you're going to get that customization you wanted in your opening post. See Granite Armor; the tech is just not in the game's engine to allow customizing anything but your base model + weapon. ... yet.
And at best, it would probably only be changeable under the Power Customization menu, giving you the choice of a few base models, and able to change 2 colours. -
Although going by Zombie Man's post in this thread, it may take more than a day, all depends on when the beta server synchs with the account server, which is not as frequently as the live servers.
So give it a day or two, and if you still don't have access, file a support ticket. -
I believe there is a potential for a bit of lag time with the test server talking to the account server. It may take up to 24 hours for the test server to recognize your VIP status.

Quote:Also amusing, BAF - whilst fighting Siege, stand atop Nightstar, activate recharge reducers and start setting up the fireworks display (usually enough time between mines to fire a blast or three, so you aren't being totally useless). I've managed to do up to 10-15% damage on my own. One time three other devices/traps characters saw what I was doing and joined in. The league leader freaking out after the fact to even out the bars was priceless; "Team 1 seige, team 2 NS, team 3 adds", "WTF? EVERYONE SEIGE! EVEN OUT THE HP!!!"Underground, Final mission, last AV. Entire league made up of those tricky trip mine blasters. Didn't think it would work, but omg. I thought a full league or even half league of MMs was scary. This was the most hailerious IT I have ever run in my short time of COH Incarnates.
So many bombs, so many explosions, so much pwnage. So beautiful.
Sometimes ruined buy wandering/KB'd adds, or Siege if his aggro shifts and he stumbles into the pile.
---
And considering how old the guide is...
Enhancement goals; rub up against the ED cap (95%) for both damage and recharge, and with set IOs, throw at least an SO worth of accuracy for good measure. Generally speaking, for most teaming situations, you'll be mowing through mobs at a rate that makes stopping to set up mine traps a waste of time; at best you'll be stealthing ahead of the group and opening with a toe bomb. However, certain situations that call for mines (EX; solo, taking out an EB in one big glorious fireball.), you'll want as many mines out as you can muster. This is where the recharge comes in. Nothing below AV can survive a pile of 20+ mines.
When taking out EBs in this way, ensure you place caltrops in front of the pile. Last thing you want is one of the underlings setting it off before the EB gets there, and most EBs will just cruise over the caltrops ahead of their minions. -
Quote:This is... disappointing. I'm grudgingly willing to pay up to $15 (worth of points) for a full costume bundle. But what else would be in the grab-bag? If I have (nearly) every other purchasable costume part already, will that increase my odds of getting one of these? Those are from the Elemental Order set, soon to be in the "super packs" (think collectible card games like Magic: The Addiction... err.. Gathering) available on the market.
Expect the full set to be anywhere from $6 to $50. This is because the costume parts are random weights in the packs.
Edit:
They -may- be available in some other way eventually, but at launch is only going to be available via the "grab-bags". -
I think the equation works a little better as (Scrapper + Tank) / 2 = Brute
The brute truly lies someplace in the middle of the two, and that is what makes it so appealing. Like the tank's toughness and aggro control, but can't stand the damage? brute. Like the scrapper's damage output but want something a little more survivable out-of-the-box? brute.
Typically, I personally prefer a scrapper, but it's hard to ignore the brute's more consistent damage output once it gets going. Criticals may push the average scrapper's DPS above that of an average brute, but as they say, random is random. -
Hope this isn't that old veteran rewards database corruption thing rearing it's ugly head again... I remember having to email support every three months. Now it would be every month, what a pain.

Yeah, for most elec sets I don't consider end drain drain to be a main focus of my strategy... that said, when two or more elec characters team up, it can turn into a beautiful thing; Like the BAF where myself, another elec blaster and an elec troller kept both AVs drained
As for the Alpha... Go for it anyway, If all the other boosts it gives line up with what you want, consider the End Mod a nice little bonus. (Plus, it also affects things like Stamina, meaning you might consider freeing up a slot that would otherwise be spent there) -
Yeah, usually results in crap. But sometimes part of the result is awesome, and gives you inspiration for the rest.

Well, for one of my costumes I---
oh... Hmm... Well warden_de_dios's screenshots do seem to work, conceptually (although, not sure, but the chest and leg options appear to be valkyrie)
but, regardless, I have two costumes that fit the bill (badum-tish);
The one on the left (under the chest detail) uses "Organic Armor" with the "strapless" pattern and the legs are "Organic Armor" with "Bikini 2". It should be noted that if you like the overall look, but don't want the glowy parts, you need to choose darker colours closer to the left for the secondary colour. I like this one, but it probably only works as well as it does in concert with the rest of the Celestial Pheonix theme...
The one on the right is Valkyrie with Strapless and Bikini 2 (And the cyborg cables chest detail). I think I used to have this one with just tights, but I tried and liked the overall feel the valkyrie texture gave it. -
I found this video to be helpful, a little brief and not as in-depth as I'd like, but it's a quick overview.

I do one of two things (Well, ok, more than two, but these are two of the major strategies I use);
1. Have a concept ready, and try to work with the Costume Creator to get as close to it as possible. Sometimes in this process I find costume pieces that I had forgotten about and find they work even better than I could have imagined. Other times I'm left struggling and stick with "close enough" (If I had a penny for every time the overall concept called for a "with skin" option to be two-coloured, I'd be a rich man)
2. Find one or two costume pieces that I like, and then try to design the rest of the costume around that. The trick for me in these cases is to avoid using parts from the same 'set' as those two pieces. I find this works well in situations where, conceptually, it's the costume piece that gives the character his/her powers.
