this is the thread you want. it is in the developer's section of the forums under developers corner. -
Quote:how about people buying up the purples for the toons that are about to hit 50? or outfitting their current 50's with purples? once i19 drops we should see a decline in prices within a month or so. i would guess.Actually, I expect to see just the opposite. I18 had a ton of lowbie content and very little for the level 50s, so people weren't playing their 50s as much, and weren't generating as many purples, so prices went up.
When people are playing their 50s more again, there will be more supply, and prices should drop.
I suppose hoarding could be part of it, but I somehow doubt it. As far as I know, they haven't announced a release date for I19 yet, so I don't know what would have happened in the course of a week to cause prices to shoot up so high so suddenly.
I realize that correlation doesn't imply causation, but it's hard not to suspect something to do with the halloween event, since that's really the only thing that changed in the last week. I'm just not sure why that would drive purple prices up. -
it may be relevant, but resurecting the dead is not. you should have started another thread with a link to this one.

you mean this one, http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=115275
it is in the developer's corner under the development section. -
Quote:ok then. what happens when the super leader changes and someone gets a bug up their *** and set all permissions to just them? don't think it will happen? i know it will. or what happens when any leader gets a bug up their *** and kicks everyone under them? none of the people that they kick have access to anything anymore. You can RP anything you want... you can RP that your powers can hit harder with ED... that doesn't make it true. The tools we have don't do the job they need to, so we need better tools. Aside from inventory management (because we all know how important allocation of loot should be in a friggin super-being world... jeez) you could run a Supergroup better with MySpace and Vent than you can with the in game tools. I don't think we're wrong for wanting better, and retorting in a snarky and condescending manner won't change that.
point being, there are to many problems that can happen that the devs just do not want to deal with with a system like this. -
Quote:being stuborne to the fact that the devs have said NO! to this idea isn't going to do you any good. and it will not get them to change their minds. to bad, so sad. move on.I'm not particularly attached to the double xp myself... it was stated that it's gotten much easier to earn xp, and that's correct.
As for the rest, I stand by my points. If you don't like it, that's fine, move along... I'm not holding a gun to your head making you read it or waste your time carefully wording a hostile and spiteful response to "not read as a personal attack". If you have something constructive to add, that's wonderful too -
now you are just arguing to argue with anyone who disagrees with you. grow up. Rodion already summed it up nicely a few posts up. so i am not going to restate what he already said.

Quote:1st off, i don't see any descriptions of play times. So I seem to have some trouble actually playing this lovely game lately.
See, soloing is boring. I really enjoy playing on teams! And yet, I can't seem to do that either.
I have lots of time, and none of it is very close together. If I want to join a team I either A) Hope to dear god that I see one looking for people and have a character I actually want to play with them, or B) Start a team, spend more than half the time I have forming it, then have to leave halfway through the first damn mission.
And hell, C) Finding a steadier group of people to join up with whenever I'm on doesn't work either- In addition to liking team play, I also like actually following the story of story arcs, and with the completely random times I can be on or have to suddenly leave.. well, nobody has the patience for that kind of sticking around, and It'd be cruel to want someone to.
So I end up doing E) A jar of almonds.
Er, D) Solo for a minute or two and then get tired of being level 7, or 11, or 27, and fighting nearly-identical groups of foes a hell of a lot because I can rarely up the difficulty solo and live.
Global channels? Yeah, I keep those up, and once in a while I'm glad I do, as Virtue LFG makes A) up there actually possible. But only once in a while. Most of what's there is task forces which, if you hadn't guessed from my description of available playtimes, are right out.
What the hell should I do?
And I swear to god if you tell me to join a Supergroup I will bake your innards into a quiche and feed it to your SGmates.
2nd, an sg is a good place to start.
3rd, your attitude ingame, if it is anything like it is here(although i can understand why), lacks anything positive.
4th, go to the servers section of the forums and post in your servers section. you may be surprised what you find.
5th, you do not need a full team of 8 to play, start with a few and work your way up to full if you can.
6th, with the new ssk system it is even easier to team with anybody now. no need for mentors anymore. -
Quote:as stated before, this works for comics and table top rpg's, but will not work in an online game. it would require to much time and resources to even come up with a working presentation that would not be used on the scale that you are thinking. this time could be well spent on the devs making new content and/or revamping old content. the amount of balances needed for this kind of idea would make any of the bonuses/disads negligable.I'm sure the entire population of the game thanks you for speaking for them.
And I like how the argument shifted from everyone needing to use them and finding a way to abuse them to no one will use them. You don't like the idea, great... say so and move on. Don't make up arguments and speculate facts to shoot down an idea that wouldn't affect you at all if you don't choose for it to do so.
And now to counter your argument with your own way of thinking: I think you're wrong. I think everyone would use them. Yes, even you and you're lying right now because you don't like to admit that you're wrong. -
and the answer is still no. people would not use them. except maybe a small, small, small, small, small percentage.

wait, what is wrong with going to the market in steel and just hopping the fence to the university to craft? why run all the way back to your base? and you can run AE missions to get tickets to buy the certain uncommon and rare salvage that you need. notice i did not say farm for tickets. you can run the devs choice and honerable mention and choose which type of rewards you want whether it's regular dev created content rewards or tickets.
-
so the only people that would benefit are the ones who are buying the reworked origin packs? /unsigned.
-
not going to happen O_I. just for the reason that every PvE'er would be on these boards screaming at the devs for this exact thing.
-
/unsigned. for the reasons you mentioned in the end of your post.

you asked for salvage storage to be increased, and for recipe storage. there are a ton of threads about those. those suggestions fall into the "hoarding" category the devs are trying to stay away from. if it were me, i would drop the isnp collectors to 2 and the enhancement tables to 2. you don't need that many really. of course you don't really need that much salvage storage either if you are using it to craft. you will be able to replace it after a few missions. but at least having 2 more salvage racks will allow for more halloween salvage and candy cane storage.
that is how i view it. while i would also like for salvage storage to be increased, i don't expect it to be so i make due with what i have to get the most out of it. -
Quote:yes, that is exactly what you are saying only with more of a "get out of my zone" feeling. these types of threads are non constructive. you don't like farming, that is your right. but do not come here trying to get the devs to separate anyone because of your opinion on a subject. and using the "i can't find/start teams angle" is very very lame. And no I'm not saying to play the way I want to play I'm simply stating my opinion just like everyone else, I mean if a new player asks for my help I automatically state my opinion on farming but I tell them what it is anyways because I've had lots of experience in it (which is why I no longer farm) and ultimately its their choice and I can only hope that my opinion factors in their decision. You make it sound like I'm ordering everyone to stop farming because I don't like it.
-
Quote:sorry, but the sewers does qualify as "farming". and if anyone pays for a farm they are stupid. it sounds like you're on freedom server. i suggest moving from that server if you do not want to see that anymore. that, or use your sg chat, coalition chat or server chat channels. also, yes, you are saying " play the way i want you to play". no matter how you word it.I'm not saying that people should play how I want them to play, I'm saying that I would like to play the way I want to play with others who like to play the same without the intrusion of farming. (No confusion at all right?) If others find farming fun thats fine but I would really prefer if there were two zones for Atlas Park this way they can have their fun while I can have mine. It's not a huge problem because most players who don't farm rarely visit Atlas Park, it's not a huge problem but I just wanted to see reactions and arguments. Sewer teams are not farming, if this was farming the size of enemy groups would have been reduced long ago. I've also never paid for a sewer team

if you haven't yet, go here http://www.nvidia.com/object/noteboo...ql-driver.html and get your new drivers for your video card.

post a CoHHelper report and we will be able to help you a little more.
-
drop one as a reward, do one of the 3 respec trials, buy one from the markets or buy one for $10 from the store on the character select screen. best option would be to run one of the respec trials.

Quote:let me rephrase: why not make a zone like warburg, when the time comes. this way anyone can attack anyone. that is what i meant, not just copy warburg....Why copy it?
Why not just use Warburg?
Theres currently a lot more stuff that has far higher priority.
Like, I dunno...making PvP not suck? Mebbe? Before even thinking about adding more zones for it.
Oh, and all that PvE stuff too. Because theres a lot of it. -
the only way i can see #3 happening is if it is power selection and slots only. no io's/so's. i'll get back about the rest later.
oh, and NO to #4.
