Isolate Farming?
I would love to see the devs acknowledge farming and make "Zone 2" for the farming heavy zones, not only am I sick of getting mega lag in Atlas Park, I can't even find sewer teams anymore, (or start them). This would also give new players the ability to learn about the game before we lose them to AE until they are level 50 at which point I would rather have a toddler in my team. This is not a hate towards farming (well just a little), I just want to be in a zone with good players who play the game for fun.

People farm in Atlas?

The inherent problem with that is that the players who farm ARE doing it for fun.
Some people enjoy farming.
Sorry, it really sounds like you're saying "Play the way *I* want you to play....or go away"
Farming probably should be addressed somehow, but making the farmers feel like pariahs isn't the best idea.

And unless the people who are playing around in AE are outstripping normal game rewards they shouldn't have any problems playing "regular" content.

Most farmers would have better profits considering that "regular" content can drop purple recipes. They give that up for the convenience of AE. For some people, the inconvenience of travel isn't fun.

total kick to the gut
This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.
The Devs, in hindsight, probably should have made a level requirement to do anything with AE. If they had made it so you had to be at least level 10 or 20 to even run AE missions then maybe there would be fewer "AE babies" out there. Who knows...
It's all water under the bridge. I'm not sure there's anything at this point worth doing to improve this situation one way or the other. *shrugs*

Unless they just don't like to travel.

As far as I know these days they aren't outstripping dev content at 2x ludicrous speed so more power to them for having fun in a game.
I'm not saying that people should play how I want them to play, I'm saying that I would like to play the way I want to play with others who like to play the same without the intrusion of farming. (No confusion at all right?) If others find farming fun thats fine but I would really prefer if there were two zones for Atlas Park this way they can have their fun while I can have mine. It's not a huge problem because most players who don't farm rarely visit Atlas Park, it's not a huge problem but I just wanted to see reactions and arguments. Sewer teams are not farming, if this was farming the size of enemy groups would have been reduced long ago. I've also never paid for a sewer team

If you separate Atlas into Farm and Non-Farm versions, you will run into the problem of new players not knowing the difference and zoning into the Farm version by mistake.
That would color their perception of the game as being nothing but a massive grindfest that takes place in an extremely small area. If I had gotten that impression from the game when I started playing I would most definitely not be here now.
Also, what's to stop the farmers from farming in BOTH Atlas Parks? Then you'd have solved nothing and made the headaches worse for the people who would like to avoid it.

There was no easy solution to the problem when it was in PI, but there is an easy solution for AE: they could make the AE instanced a la Pocket D or Midnighter Club, so that broadcasts inside AE wouldn't be heard outside. All the folks looking to join farms would go inside and do their thing since it'd be pointless to broadcast outside. I suggested this on the forums at the peak of the AE farming craze, and IIRC, I was greeted with a huge chorus of "Hell no, horrible idea!" /e shrug. I still think it'd be nice.

sorry, but the sewers does qualify as "farming". and if anyone pays for a farm they are stupid. it sounds like you're on freedom server. i suggest moving from that server if you do not want to see that anymore. that, or use your sg chat, coalition chat or server chat channels. also, yes, you are saying " play the way i want you to play". no matter how you word it.

And no I'm not saying to play the way I want to play I'm simply stating my opinion just like everyone else, I mean if a new player asks for my help I automatically state my opinion on farming but I tell them what it is anyways because I've had lots of experience in it (which is why I no longer farm) and ultimately its their choice and I can only hope that my opinion factors in their decision. You make it sound like I'm ordering everyone to stop farming because I don't like it.

Wait, there's still crowds in the Atlas AE on other servers? Our Atlas AE is always very empty, at least whenever I'm in the zone. Maybe they're hiding from me...

Wents? You don't need to go there. IO salvage doesn't start dropping until after reaching level 4 and by then you can wait the 10 minutes it takes to hit level 5 and go to Kings Row like everyone else.
Face it, the truth of the matter is that Atlas Park is the games social hub where heroic players get together to meet and do various in game activities from farming to costume contests. And your suggestion would turn it into a snobby Country Club just so you can weed out the people that enjoy an aspect of the game you've taken an irrational dislike to.
So in summation:

Giggles...
Farming in Atlas? Ha ha ha ha
Folks doing repetitive missions, till their eyes begin to bleed, bothers you? I don't see how.
You talk about lag in Atlas, frankly last I looked in Atlas, especially at AE, the place is mostly deserted. And its been a long time since I seen in broadcast anyone asking to join them in an AE team, if those occur they are very rare nowdays. If you have lag, its likely the cheap old server you are on or your computer.
Getting rich from doing AE missions? You got to be kidding me!
Getting incredible exp from doing AE missions? Really? I thought the devs placed a thousand and one nurf measures...
Now, I do use AE as a training leveling grounds fo rmy lowbies, that is level 2 to 14 only. The reason is to get a travel power, with out the incredibly stupid travel missions one gets stuck with between levels 1 and 14.
I also have a secondary use for AE, I will do a few easy missions to collect tickets, which I redeem for rare salvage, to avoid the over priced asking prices of players at WW for them.
Frankly, if I can get a friend to sidekick me in a level 50 mission, I will get much faster experience, level 50 recipe drops to include chances for purples, level 50 enhancements, and tier 3 inspirations. For my life, I can't really think why I would want to focus in AE at all.
It is also interesting to determine, what is your definition of "farming", since there are many out there.
I actually do farm missions, but what I consider farming is likely very different from what others do consider. I repeat the same mission over and over, so I don't find myself traveling from one end of Perigrine Island to the other. Since I farm with melee ATs, I go the +0/x8/no/no mission difficulty settings. So far as i can tell, I am using the tools the developers game me in their own free accord. I am focusing in quick area kills of many mobs, in order to play the percentage chance in getting a recipe drop, a good one. The 2% chance improvement in getting a recipe from a boss, is not worth the extra 5 minutes to take him down, when I can defeat 8 LTs in that amount time, statistically a much better chance to get a drop, a good one.
Pragmatically, the only thing I am doing different from most players just doing missions, is that I am doing the same mission over and over, thus eliminating dumb retarded travel.
Now there are a few perks, of choosing your mission, but if you are smart you should be choosy; the original CoH game, way back then, actually suggests for you to do so as well. It is said, there are mobs more succeptible to your powers than others, and mobs you are more susceptible than others as well; the game developers clearly indicate you should focus on those mobs you are best suited for, they also indicate that there are drops better suited to you from some mobs than others, they also suggest you focus on those; for example if you are magic based, they suggest you get magic based contacts, so you fight magic based mobs, so you get magic based drops.
So if I am going to do missions, why should I not focus on the type of mobs who drops what I need? Why should I not focus on the mobs I am best against?
Finally, the maps themselves, there are maps that lend themselves for you to get ambushed, face multiple linked together mob groups, and what not. But if you are trying to outfit yourself with nice IOs, would it not make sense to fight on maps that have no ambushes, and the mobs are reasonably spaced apart? Is that so wrong?
It has always been my belief that "farming" is a direct consequence of an un-checked market price system, when things are too hard to get, and you have need of them, you need to have the influence to acquire them. Since WW is as a rule, over-priced and at times skalping high, players have to earn a lot of influence to afford the items they want and thus intelligent players find ways to optimize their time invested in getting that needd influence.
Frankly, I can' see what folks have against people soloing or farming, besides that they are not there to serve the objecting player's personal interests.
Hugs
Stormy
Stormy, you don't seem to understand how an economy works.
The price can only be as high as people are willing to pay. What drives prices high is not only demand, but lack of supply. The items you are complaining about are not overpriced. They are simply high value items.
