Isolate Farming?

There was no easy solution to the problem when it was in PI, but there is an easy solution for AE: they could make the AE instanced a la Pocket D or Midnighter Club, so that broadcasts inside AE wouldn't be heard outside. All the folks looking to join farms would go inside and do their thing since it'd be pointless to broadcast outside. I suggested this on the forums at the peak of the AE farming craze, and IIRC, I was greeted with a huge chorus of "Hell no, horrible idea!" /e shrug. I still think it'd be nice.
That doesn't stop anyone from broadcasting on the outside to fill their team, so no.

I don't recall that number getting thrown around before. Where's that from (not necessarily doubting, just haven't heard that)?

I never saw the original source but back on the old forums when making comments about how much inf was in the system I was corrected that it wasn't billions but trillions by a couple of people.

My question still hasn't been answered, so I'll reiterate.

How exactly do you propose we stop people from fasrming in BOTH versions of Atlas Park? If both zones are identical (which they would have to be), there is nothing stopping anyone from AE farming in either zone.

If you're suggesting an alternate Atlas Park be created that doesn't have AE in it, my reaction will be as follows:

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

There is no way in hell the devs are going to create a separate AP that has no AE in it just to appease a vocal minority on the forums.

If the broadcast chatter annoys you that much, start somewhere else, or simply turn broadcast off in your chat window.

Does 1 person even qualify as a minority?

Yeah, I'd say it does.

It's not the first time I've heard the complaint though, so there are a few more people with the same issue.

But the fact remains that the devs aren't going to program a separate AP on one or two servers just to appease those people. (Seems the complaint only really exists on Freedom and Virtue, I don't see much AE farming going on at all on Pinnacle anymore)

Even before AE, Atlas Park was refered to as THE place for inane, stupid or even abusive Broadcast chatter.

To be specific I was referring to the number of times I've heard someone suggest making a duplicate farm-free Atlas Park.

I agree. Especially since we already have a 'farm free' starter zone called Galaxy City. The OP's complaint seems to be nothing more than a variation of the whining we get when Freedom is greyed out during a special event.

If the OP insists on starting in the most popular starting zone then he's just going to have to deal with the lag and farm chatter. Those other players have just as much right to be there as he does.

whoa lots of my fan club here! hi guys and catgirls! miss me?

well i think they should isolate the sewers to DA cause those dirty sludge runners have been stinking up AP long enough.

It's not a huge problem because most players who don't farm rarely visit Atlas Park, it's not a huge problem but I just wanted to see reactions and arguments. Sewer teams are not farming, if this was farming the size of enemy groups would have been reduced long ago. I've also never paid for a sewer team
Yeah, well I am sick of all the people spamming broadcast in Atlas Park to form their sewer farms. I mean sewer "teams".

I'm trying to read all the broadcast spam about the costume contests and your kind of players are messing that up for me.

total kick to the gut

It's all water under the bridge. I'm not sure there's anything at this point worth doing to improve this situation one way or the other. *shrugs*
Oh so you mean i would have to take one of my newbs through my base to peregrine and run one of the 5-6 perfectly balanced farm missions i used before the AE to level them up to 20 in the same amount of time?

I get seriously tired of people blaming the failure of idiots to understand a perfectly simple game on being an AE Baby. There has never been a lack of farming or power leveling options in this game. But there have always been dumb-***** who even when playing a character fail to understand the basic concepts of teamwork and their ATs role on a team. That has nothing to do with PLing.

This is not a hate towards farming (well just a little), I just want to be in a zone with good players who play the game for fun.
So oh "Make a me a farm free atlas. wait now im level 8, i need a farm free Kings Row.....oh hang on might as well do a farm free steel while your at it ill be there in a couple days..."

Get over yourself. Farming exists it will always exist, just ignore it if you want to play it. God i cant wait until you have to listen to constent tells for ToT teams next week. Between that and 2 weeks of night you probably will be suicidal by the end of the halloween event.

What's funny is that the OP somehow thinks running through the sewers killing mobs of bad guys with no story or mission content behind it, isn't somehow farming.

No. I don't label the players you describe as AE babies. However when I run into a level 41 Peacebringer who asks me what enhancements are, asks where Perigrine Island is, or says, "We can leave Atlas Park!? How?" then he's an AE baby.

I've also been on teams where everyone but the AE baby was waiting outside the mission entrance in Talos, PI, RWZ all the while the AE baby who was still in Atlas Park, was insisting he is also at the entrance but it won't let him enter.

Well the OP probably doesn't count them because the sewers are a different zone.

*facepalm* @ the MANY people who will whine about farmers, then talk about getting sewer teams in the same post.

Even more so if they whine about how NEW PLAYERS should join a sewer team.

A game is not supposed to be some kind of... place where people enjoy themselves!

So far Stormy your post about AE and not making money or exp is the funniest of all!

You know the sadest part really is that with the difficulty/team size slider, an AE PLer doesnt need a team anymore to level his toons. However a sewer group has to spam broadcast for interested parties to join the team.....

Kinda wierd the OPer is having a problem with the first group when the second group is actually all the more present in his zone causing disruption.

You can't find or start sewer teams any more because most people are starting in the brand new zone instead of doing something 6ish years old.

Get farming out of Atlas. Some people may enjoy farming, others don't Either way it's not really cool to encourage the new people to go straight to the AE and live there without seeing the rest of the city.

notice the word: encourage... not force, so don't play word games.

AE is not farming.
Farming is not PLing.
What, *exactly,* are you against, and how do you propose to remove it without impacting everyone else?

(FWIW, unless I'm on Freedooom, I don't really see "farming" of any sort encouraged in Atlas. It's one of the reasons I've migrated from there.)

If you've only played an AT once (one set combo) and "hate" it - don't give up. Roll a different combo. It may just be those sets not clicking for you.
