Could be worse. Protean likes to full heal off you

Quick recommendation :
If you buy the full version, keep track of the game account code. If you buy it via the digital store, it will be emailed to you after you apply it - otherwise it in the hardcopy you bought.
Also keep track of how and what you paid your subscription with the first time.
Credit or Debit Card - Type of Card (Visa, MC, Amex, etc) and the last four digits of the card number (these are the ones that will show up not XXXX out in your billing info while it's your active card.
Time/Game Card - Keep the entire number you entered in.
PayPal - the paypal user ID.
If something happens and you cannot get back into your master account, this is the info they will ask for to let you back in. Note - if you put in a credit card during account creation, but either change the card OR use a time card or paypal, the credit card will not be how you paid your first month's sub. -
Quote:They said they would never ask for your password in an email - or master account name. Also, wasn't there a thread posted by a Moderator saying that they'll NEVER ask you these kind of info?
They ask for more than they need. They ask for all that to make sure you are not "not you" trying to hijack your account.Quote:Ok... first questions to ask yourself: Why do they need all that just to verify me?
Answer: They don't.
If you ever have any doubt, go to the source. Contact the support team directly through the website (not any links or numbers given to you in the email).
I was able to give my last couple boosters (codes bought via digital store are emailed to you after they are applied - KEEP THEM!), plus my actual date of account creation PLUS what codes were on it.Quote:I have to admit, I do not have all the code information added to my accounts. (And there's a lot. I have a booster/costume issue.*
) If asked for those ... I'm done. I'd hope they'd accept correct answers on a good proportion of those questions but if it's all or nothing... ewwww. -
After reading this, my main thought was "I want to name mine Fess"

Toggles and drop powers (rains, caltrops, etc) check on casting and once every ten seconds for all procs and proc120s.
-
In part, it's how their system works. Like I said, if you ever are wondering about how valid it is, any support email also shows up in their support website at ncsoft.com
-
Quote:That looks like a cut/paste from an email NCSoft sent me when I lost my 2nd account's login password.Scam. Don't answer that. They will never ask for that kind of information through e-mail.
As has been mentioned :Quote:Still, to be on the safe side, if your no longer having the issue just reply with
Issue resolved: Thanks.
Anything NCSoft emails to you that is support related will show up here :
Knowledge Base/Ask a Question section of the Support site from www.ncsoft.com
Please note that although linked, the support account IS a separate account. -
I'm frequently working when these are given out, and the chances of me getting there first on my iPhone are pretty much non-existent.
-
Please exercise:
a) Caution in moving you shiny new Self-Destruct button!
b) your Self Destruct button frequently! -
Quote:Really? You sure that's sound logic?I don't think they'll offer a digital version of the Complete Collection, as they're going to be offering a "booster" that contians the in-game goodies from Complete Collection.

Quote:One example of this : Freedom, for various reasons, has a higher average server population. Therefore, it has has additional hardware allocated to it. What it can show as a "Green" dot may or may not show up as a yellow dot on the other servers.Technically, no. They are listed in order of SERVER LOAD. This is not synonymous with population. It is frequently a good indicator of population, but not always.
We've also been told that if enough (but still a small number of) people did the "right" thing, they could make the load on a server skyrocket, so it would be wanting to keel over even without having a population near/higher than the others. -
One quick note - when looking at the descriptions of attacks, they will often say "Low damage", moderate damage, "Supieror", etc. That is as compared to most other attacks in the set/archetype. A High damage controller power could be outdamaged by a low or moderate damage scrapper or blaster power, for example.

Quote:I was just about to link to that thread :PHi Vicros and welcome;
I too just came from Wow and on a demo account until the expansion comes out. The overwhelming thing that I have noticed are:
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=231591
The link to my recent welcoming thread. Lots of good tips in it.
Quick overview (general format) of the archetypes.
Hero :
Tanks - Armor/Melee AT - Higher armor (defense/res) mods mean it's armor powers are stronger than scrappers. Playstyle can vary widely depending on powersets chosen. All attacks generate agro in addition to the range-debuffing "Taunt" power.
Scrapper - Also called the solo archetype. Melee/Armor. Has a crit rate on all powers, which scales based on target's class (you crit more on bosses/lts/players than minions).
Blaster - Ranged Damage/Self-Support - Damage, usually at ranged. The assault sets tend to be a mix of utility, ranged, and melee powers.
Defender - Support/Ranged Damage - Buffs/Debuffs/Heals/etc, with blast secondaries.
Controllers - Mez/Support - Holds, immobilizes, and other mezzes.
Villains :
Stalker - Melee/Armor - has the powers "Assassin's Strike" and "Placate" in each melee set, Hide in each armor set. A rogue/melee burst DPS (also called "Melee Blaster" by some) set. But you can "scrap" somewhat too.
Brute - Melee/Armor - The "evil scrapper" which can also tank more than a scrapper with the right buffs (higher caps). Has Fury (as you attack/are attacked, you build up a damage bonus).
Corruptor - Ranged Damage/Support - Inverse Defender - has Scourge mechanic, a crit chance that only happens when the target is less than half health.
Mastermind - Pet/Support - Pet class, also envisioned as the dark side's tank, originally. Now shares it with the Brute. Bodyguard effect - When in Defend/Follow mode, nearby pets share the master's damage. Supremacy - When in Bodyguard range, pets get a Accuracy/Damage boost.
Dominator - Control/Assault - secondary is a mix of ranged and melee attacks with some utility powers. As you attack, you build "Domination" - when it's high enough, you can use your special click power to go into "Domination - when you enter this state, your endurance is refilled, you get mez protection, and your mez powers have extra magnitude/strength.Note, this is the only AT where the secondary is a second Primary as far as design intent goes - it has higher than usual modifiers for the powers in it's secondary. -
Quote:Auto-hit except vs. Players, yes. Provoke still has an accuracy check. It's auto-hit as well, isn't it? I think Provoke still has an accuracy check.
Eh, except perhaps in edge cases, it IS inferior.Quote:It is not. Scrapper versions are ST, but tanks and brutes are 5-target AoEs. In addition, Taunt is autohit and provides a range debuff on the mob, where Provoke requires a hit check and applies no debuff. Provoke lasts a shorter time. Provoke is in all relevant ways inferior to Taunt on brutes and tanks.
EDIT* Deleted cause everyone has a different playstyle and mine isn't the only right one. Sorry for bein' a jerk.
And not only is the scrapper versions single target, but are named different as well.
Nope, because the game is the same either way.Quote:Thanks for the info. I will switch over to taunt when I can. Could me using COV install have something to do with the descriptions outa wack?
Mayhap you are thinking of the Guantlet/Punvoke effects? Tanker attacks have a minor version of Taunt (5-target aoe effect), but brutes attacks have only a single target (unless the power itself is AoE) taunt effect. -

Quote:It's a weird bug.Ok, last night my level 21 Defender participated in the Mothership Raid last night. I earned ton of XP for my toon, but I also received 10 Vanguard Merits, after we killed the GM. Is this a normal thing for everyone, cause someone told me, I would not receive Van Merits until I do Levantera mission. Is this true?
If you had run Levantera's "Welcome to Vanguard" mission you would of gotten hundreds of merits. -
Quote:How about both?Honestly I'm going to have trouble narrowing it down. If you're looking more for 'lack of skill' than 'jerks', that'll help me winnow it down a bit.

Worst PUG I was ever on had one of those leaders fixated on "higher level mobs = Moar XPEES = BEST XPEES" despite a few pf us on the team attempting to educate him. Mind you, this was back when street sweeping was common, pre-indoor debt nerf.
Most of us couldn't really hit much. I remember quiting the team after stating the leader needed to get some tactics. Either the real thing or even just the power

Quote:My favorites are the ones that expect restaurants to price match fast food places.Heh, I work at a restaurant, and we get people that will order food for take out, walk outside the building and drop it. They then comeback and demand a replacement or refund, even though it was their own darn fault.
In my case, a pizza parlor vs. some place like pizza hut, little Ceaser's, or either of the papas. You know, a place where the pizza averages 20-25 for a family size, vs. some place that's doing "larges" for $10 or less. -

Quote:That read like an attack from Earthbound.I answered it. In the second post!
I've no idea what the rest of ye are talking about. Something about BarbieWorld Online or something?
"Barbie hits you with Baking Cookies for the Boys"
*You are baking and unable to take any action*
"Barbie hits you with Gucci Handbag"
*You take 56 points of damage and look fabulous* -
NCSoft goes through 3rd parties in South America due to issues with credit card fraud, or something like that. And our fellow players' issues with that is they don't always offer all the boosters, etc, for City of Heroes.

Quote:He may of posted before me, but I replied before him!Fulmens got done saying he's mailed inf to European server players, the post before yours, which was made almost six hours before your post. Considering it's Fulmens saying it, I believe it.
