Refunds?

Is there a way I can get a refund back on my GR purchase and paid time? I thought I might want to play again, but playing again made me bored to tears and I don't think GR will help with that...

Paid time? I think you have zero chance of that, since you played. They have been giving some people refunds for GR pre-purchase, but it mostly seems to hinge on not having used Dual Pistols or Demon Summoning.

But, it really doesn't cost anything to talk to support, so you're free to give it a shot.

Yeah. I've never heard of anyone getting a refund. The OP bought the game, and used it. The serial code and time can't be repackaged and sold to someone else. All he can do is cancel his payment plan and the account will go inactive once the time runs out.

And NCSoft held up their part of the contract. It's not their fault the OP has buyers remorse. They offer free trials he could have used to see if he would like the changes in the game since the last time he played.

He made an informed decision and now has to live with the consequences.

But Decorum is right, feel free to contact billing. It doesn't hurt to try. The following info is instructions on how to contact support.

The NCsoft Support Website

The NCsoft Knowledge Base at http://help.ncsoft.com is the place to find answers and contact our support team. Answers to many commonly asked questions are available in our searchable site. Many of these answers will tell you what information to include when contacting support for a particular issue, so you can often speed the process along by sending the necessary information in your initial inquiry.

If the Knowledge Base does not contain the answer to your question, click the Ask a Question tab. Once there, follow these simple steps to submit your question to us:

Enter your e-mail address in all lower case (e-mail address is case sensitive).

Type your subject and message in the appropriate boxes. Populate the fields and drop-down menus and click the Submit Question button.
If your e-mail address is already registered, skip to Step #6. If you have not registered your e-mail previously, you will be taken to a registration screen. Enter the information requested to register your address and create a support account. We respect your privacy and do not share this information with other companies.

Click the Create Account button.

You will be taken to a screen that verifies support account creation.

Click the Finish Submitting Question button
.
You will be presented with a reference number for your submission. A copy of your question will also be e-mailed to you for your records.

Please Note: Your support account login is separate from your NCsoft or game account logins so that you will always have access to support, even if you are having a problem with your game account.

You can update your issue at any time by using the My Stuff tab. For more information about the My Stuff tab, including how to track your current support issues, click the link below.

How does the My Stuff section of the support website work?

LOL, there is NO way you are getting a refund back on played game time. That's like someone going out to eat, eating the entire meal, then asking for a refund because they didn't like it as much as they thought they would.

Not going to happen.

People get refunds for things that have been completely used up all the time, believe it or not. All you have to do is yell enough. But I do tend to agree, in this case the most you could possibly hope for is a pro-rated refund of your most current month of game time for the time you haven't played.

I am curious, why did you pre-purchase GR if you weren't sure you'd like it? Certainly we haven't learned anything new that could have possibly changed your opinion for the worse (unless you were really holding out for that sneak preview of the Incarnate System, in which case you should be patient since it has only been postponed until I19, not canceled).

Hey, everyone is different. There are actually people who don't like chocolate or bacon.

Heh, I work at a restaurant, and we get people that will order food for take out, walk outside the building and drop it. They then comeback and demand a replacement or refund, even though it was their own darn fault.

Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.

They get the replacement don't they. Silly managers. When will they learn that if you roll over for one silly person word will spread.

And what is this about people not liking chocolate covered bacon?

Enjoy your day please.

Don't cancel, OP. Have a Chocolate Bacon bar and reconsider. Everything will seem better.

GR purchase is likely determined on a case by case basis. If you have a reason as to why they haven't lived up to their end of the bargain it won't be difficult to get that back. If you don't it may be difficult.

Pre-Paid time is unlikely to get back, but I wouldn't say impossible. Spent time will never be given back.

All you can do is put together a well written letter to support and see though.

You can only have your pre-paid time refunded if you have played during any of it, because I have. Though my circumstances differ from yours, I paid for 3 months on one of my accounts, and well before that time was up, I went in and cancelled recurring payments. Apparently that didn't work for whatever reason, so I had contacted support when I saw the money withdrawn and told them what happened.

You can get your GR pre-purchase refunded, since I think a lot of people who wanted their money back were the ones who wanted the Incarnate stuff. Though I'm not sure I really see the point anyways unless you really needed that $30/$40 back badly.

i have gotten paid time back a couple years ago but i had not logged in during that paid time either. i basically cancelled on the day of renewal and they charged me anyway and i didnt find out until i got my bank statement a couple weeks later. i ended up calling some 800 number and getting credited once they looked it up to confirm. since then i am more aware of when i do it because i do cancel often and renew because i tend to get bored easily.

now getting an expansion back may not work if you dont whine enough and in the right way. you might just want to eat the loss and hope you decide to come back one day when the game interests you again.

I did once, when I bought an European version of a booster pack instead of US.

To be fair, for some people the game simply isn't fun. Just as we might like game for our reasons, someone else may dislike it for those same reasons themselves.

Glad to hear there are cases where people got refunds. Maybe there's hope for the OP.

My favorites are the ones that expect restaurants to price match fast food places.

In my case, a pizza parlor vs. some place like pizza hut, little Ceaser's, or either of the papas. You know, a place where the pizza averages 20-25 for a family size, vs. some place that's doing "larges" for $10 or less.
