According to my sources, the new powersets will include Dual Archery, Assault Rifle Melee and Pointy Stick Armor.
Said sources happen to be voices in my head. One of them sounds like Sigourney Weaver. -
Note that the Broad Sword and Dual Blades powersets include a number of Greek and Roman-inspired swords, not counting the unlockable Cimeroran models.
Funny note, the original lead designer of the game (the now infamous Jack 'Statesman' Emmert) was a major in Greek mythology, and it shows. -

And the killer gets the credit towards a hunt mission.

Not to mention they have complete anonymity and an alter-ego as badass as they want to hide behind. The perfect storm of online idiocy.

I got feared fighting the weakened Hamidon in the LGTF, presumably the real blob would also be a pain but then again I wouldn't be without help.
Fear is very rarely used and resisted, by both players and NPCs. It's a very effective soft mez for that reason, ask any Illusion controller. -
BS and Regen are good sets, even without IOs you should be able to build it well enough to slaughter PvE content. No idea about PVP, that's all over the place these days.
-
I17 and Going Rogue are likely to come out at the same time. Much like with CoV, the devs would generally release an Issue alongside an expansion- to match things up with the expansion content, and so players that don't have the expansion yet don't have to download a big patch full of stuff they can't access.
Mind you, we have no idea at all what I17 will entail beyond that, so it's all baseless speculation and lies for a while. -
Quote:My Blaster's only 39 and SKed, I can wipe out entire spawns of Cimerorans with Build Up+Full Auto. Let's see a Defender do that! Not every DeBuff is a toggle. Some of the most important ones for killing stuff faster (Tar Patch, Freezing Rain, Sleet, Sonic Siphon, Disruption Arrow) aren't. In fact, the only real culprits there are RI, EF and DN. Never mind that most people I know have long since stopped anchoring on Bosses, at least with Single Target builds. You usually want the Boss gone first due to concerns regarding spike damage.
And regarding the OP, he's woefully off. If anyone becomes redundant in the higher levels it's Tankers (might still want them for AV/GM fights) and Blasters (anyone can do appreciable damage at this point; Scrappers spike hard targets, Defender AOEs will deal with the chaff swiftly enough, Controller Pets do stuff). Granted, Controllers infringe upon Defenders in a massive way due to being 'good enough' Buffers/DeBuffers, but considering that both need the same amount of time to ramp up damage and Controllers then need one extra step to set up for dealing real damage and considering the presence of Defender AOEs, I've never felt redundant. -

They do keep them out most of the time. The Rikti invasions come when they figure out how to turn them off.
-
This is only the first round of power customisation. They're probably going to improve on it down the track.
-
Man, my BS/SR has almost the same build (no Elude though) but I can't afford half those IOs. How do you people get so much inf?
-
I want to roll a Blaster that goes:
Nuke+Selfdestruct+Rise of the Pheonix.
No kill like overkill. -
Freakshow: I'm gonna buy a sports car, then weld it to me!
Seriously, nobody can top that. -
-
I wonder if I can make Spines/Dark even uglier.
I hope there's still laughing to do in Atlas. -
And the xp for boss farms has been nerfed into the ground to add insult to injury.

How does it kill my argument?
I shouldn't call it so much a chain as a pattern. War Witch has lamented that an NPC can only serve one function at a time, as a programming limitation- the reason that she can be a trainer in Pocket D, but not a contact or snarky NPC at the same time.
Now, look at the Arachnos high command- Recluse himself is a Strike Force contact. His four lieutenants (Ghost Widow and co.) are regular contacts for the Patron arcs. And their lackeys- Silver Mantis and Barracuda so far- are Strike Force contacts. Though Wretch and I think one of the others hasn't been programmed in yet, I think it's safe to assume that they will be used for Strike Forces of their own.
And they can't be Patron contacts because they can't be a regular contact and a Strike Force contact at the same time. So unless we're gonna talk to them through yet another set of lackeys, they can't be used as Patrons in the same manner as the four we currently have. -
In the wake of District 9, they want to tone down their image.
-
They release Issues at the same time as major expansions so players don't have to download a ton of stuff they may not have access to.
-
I have to say, Defenders excel at making up for a team's weaknesses. Whenever I come across something where the team stalls and has problems, if the problem is anything besides immense stupidity I think "If only we had a something/whatever Defender".
Stubborn AV? -regen. Running outta end? Kin, Emp, Rad (I think). Enemies hitting too hard? Pretty much any buffer can help. -
Die from caffiene overdose.
Just kidding. I could never overdose on caffiene.
